Ack! See what happens when I get this part after I worte that other
piece... actually, you can fit that piece I wrote to the end of this one...
The internal battle of a man and what good is left in him... Shadows are
fun... Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Virgo: STOP!!!

Scorpio's katana halted suddenly, a mere half inch from Kajagua's neck. It
wavered there for a moment, as Virgo's muffled sobbing pierced the rich silence.

More emotion than you can shake an amazon at...

Scorpio slowly backed away from the injured warrior on the floor before him.
The burning red glow in his eyes flickered momentarily, then faded out.

Scorpio: Virgo? Where am I? Who is this scoundrel at my feet who would
accost you so?

Too bad those eyes flicker back on soon...

Virgo turned, her hands in front of her face. Scorpio reached out tenderly
and parted her fingers away from her eyes. Virgo stared at Scorpio for a
moment, dread and fright written deeply in her glare. Tears of confusion and
anger continued to track down her cheeks, her tongue occasionally flicking
out to taste the salt of her sadness. Scorpio's face darkened at the sorrow
that he saw, and the pain that he had caused. Yar's spell had been broken,
but so had Virgo's heart. Could she ever forgive him?

"Where do broken hearts go? Do they find their way home?"
You think that's bad. Zodiak would never intentionally strike down an
unarmed opponent, much less kill one... How the corruption is spreading...
The evil is so delicious...

A pained moan came from the floor behind them. Virgo cried out suddenly,
startled that Kajagua was still alive. She brushed past Scorpio and kneeled
down beside Kajagua to tend his wound.

Scorpio stood dazed, watching his beloved attend the injured ronin. The
tattered basement carpet was thickly stained with crimson. His opponent had
lost a great deal of blood, but he still might survive. The patriarch
watched Virgo gently help the ronin to his feet, his heart turning to stone
as he realized the truth.

"Houston, we have a problem..." Trust me, this love triangle wasn't
there when I first created them... I like it!

Virgo helped Kajagua to the doorway and then turned back. The room was
empty, and the basement window high on the wall over Rob's desk was open.
The lace curtains that Jody had made fluttered briefly, held aloft by a
momentary breeze. Then the curtains came to rest against the sash and were
still.

Obvious exit!!! I missed it!!!

He had come here to kill them all, a prisoner of Yar's spell. A good heart
had broken the spell, but an old hatred had fired a new "spell". A spell of
bitterness that could only be broken by the death of Kajagua.

Not Yar's spell... But he did have his hand in it...
