<<snip warning>>
Hi All,
I don't know where this info is coming from, but it's rather old. I
don't mean to sound un-appreaciative, I truly do appreciate your efforts
to help inform users about virii.
The pkzip300.zip trojan is old and in many cases, would not even be
executed if it has been scanned thoroughly before and after
decompression. There is also the concept of obtaining it from the
rightful software writers of the pk-series of software. Latest reported
version for pkzip, I believe, is 2.04g
Wing. [ In case some people don't know, there is a text based virus
that will spread via word 6.0 But that's not overly important. ]

I guess that figures. The group i work for databases research material for
the DOD. Earlier this week, a memo came down the pipeline (by e-mail, so
i thought it would have been more current) warning about this virus. Every
other surface in our work area was posted with a copy of this memo, which
came from the main office in the DOD of the group that's in charge of the group
that's in charge.... of the group that's in charge of us. It was also dated
two days ago, so i forgot about how the gov. sometimes is (also because there
are so many layers above us that we student workers seldom get effected by
gov. stupidity). I did realize that i might have made a mistake about how
current the info was, but only after i sent the information. Anyway, sorry
to take up the bandwidth, this time u can actually blame it on the
government ;)
