Well, has anyone tried to put a con together down there?  Would it be

A specific Anime Con?  Hard to say... Melbourne or Sydney might have 
enough fans.  Biggest problem is that there doesn't anyone or anygroup 
terribly interested in trying to organise one.

There are SF & RPG con's around, but the SF mobs are incredibly cliquey 
and the RPG con's don't leave much time for the people there to attend 
anime.  The MAS does showings at some of the RPG Con.s (Bastard is always 
popular ^_^) but the anime there is really only a filler...
