Greetings!
O.K....I give... where the heck is Proton?
There's a whole lot of them everywhere you look, but they're kinda small :)
Ha ha ha ha ha.
Well, this is in answer to your question, although those unfamiliar with the
geography of south-central Ontario can disregard. :)
I presume you are referring to 'Proton Station', listed in my home mailing
address in my early fanfics?
Well, Proton Station itself is a small hamlet just off of Highway #10, north
of a little town called Dundalk. To get to Dundalk, you follow #10 straight
north from Missisauga/Brampton.
However, what I consider actual home is our 200-acre family farm out in the
countryside. It's (technically speaking) right next to the dot on the map
west of Dundalk labelled 'Swinton Park'. (i.e. Turn left at Dundalk as you
head north)
Now Swinton Park is on ALL Ontario road maps for the Southern Georgian Bay
region, but nobody's ever heard of it. The reason for this odd anomaly is
that when the region was first being settled, S.P. was the region's post
office, and it's stayed on the map, even though it's got maybe ten houses in
it, and is no longer a postal outlet. Government policy.
Anyhow, from my home, it's about an hour and fifteen minutes drive to get to
Waterloo, which is right near Guelph. That help any? :)
Anyone 'waaaay down south who wants to know just how far it is, ask Todd.
He's driven it. ^_^
Sayonara!
