A petard was one of these bomb-like things that they used a long time ago
(around Sheakspeare times) to blow open the castle doors... And when the
guy who lit the bomb thingy, after sticking it to the door, got caught in
the blast, he was 'hoist by his own petard'... So, it means to get undone
by something you set up, yourself. ^_^
