This is a parallel story to the original series of Sailor Moon,
with a different perspective, of course.*grin* The main character
has some connections with both the Senshi and the Negaverse, so which
side he is really on? Stay tune and you'll find out.
This is my first attempt at writing a fanfic, so I don't know
how far it would go. *grin* So, please send praises, flames,
suggestions... whatever to Spira, creator of this story.
        The e-mail address is: wleung@mustang.uwo.ca

All characters ( with the exception of our main character )
are created by and belong to Naoka Takeuchi.

  Tapestry Tangles

  by Spira
  <wleung@mustang.uwo.ca>

Life weaves out in a large tapestry,
  Patterns sprawl out
  Tangling through along the way...

  Dancing for life ,
  And singing for death,
We dance on the thin thread between life and death...

  Light and Darkness merge together
We know better than to sort it clear

Lost in the trap of hopeless void
Empty dreams are all we have

  Until we see the light...

It glows with warmth of love and promise,
A promise we have long but lost

But as we grip for the light
  It burns us alive...

  Forcing us back...
  Into to the Darkness
  we may not survive...

  Prologue

Night folded like a deep blue cloak over the restless city,
new moon rising with shimmering stars, soft breezes caressing all
lives with autumn warmth. Lights of cars and buildings flickered
like some dancing flames, human laughters and cries rang like songs
  of heaven.

A dark figure was hanging high up in the sky, surveying the
activities of the night city. "So full of energy..." he thought,
"What a waste..." He closed his eyes and reached out his power.
Soft glow of golden energies slowly gathered around him, smoothly
merged into his dark purple aura. After the last bit of energy
was gone, he sighed and opened his eyes. He looked around,
everything looked completely normal, no one seemed to know that
their energies had been stolen, and no sight of the Senshi. Good.

The wind blew softly, tangling his long light blond hair.
He reached up and pushed the white lock of hair from his eyes.
He gazed up at the moon with a tranquil look. The light of
the moon seemed to dance around his for a while. A slender
youth, no doubt, but when you looked closer, you would see that
it was not so simple. His slender body and the long white blond
hair made him somewhat effeminate, along with his youngful face
and pale skin, you could almost say he looked fragile and all too
young to understand the corruption of the darkness. There was a
glint of pain and sadness behind his eyes. "Can we just stop the
whole thing, and start all over again... It's not going to be
pretty if we follow this path... " he whispered to the glowing
moon. Then he closed his eyes as if he could not stand the sight of
  it anymore.

Suddenly, he flung open his eyes, alert in every senses.
Someone was coming. He narrowed his eyes and was a little irritated.
She had sent someone to track him down again. Why did she do that?
She should know by now, that I would go back whenever I want to.
Sending stupid youma after me was as useless as... well, never mind.
I might as well get this over with. He thought.

"Greetings, my Lord." A voice said behind him. "Hope I haven't
interrupted any of your business. But Queen Beryl wishes to see
  you."

He turned around, a huge spiderlike youma was hovering in
front of him. "What's new? She always says that." He said
absently and started to walk away, ignoring the youma altogether.

"But, Lord Calesta. The Queen really wants to see you!!" The
youma said desperately. "If you don't come back with me, she'll
  kill me!!"

Calesta stared at the youma with disdain. "What makes you
think I care about you're alive or not?" He shook his head. "And,
frankly, I don't care if she wants to see me or not. I'll go back
when I feel like it. Now, GO!!" He waved the youma away.

The youma thought for a moment, then a evil grin spread over
his face, making his distorted face even uglier than before.

"I think you're overestimating your favour with Queen Beryl,
Calesta. I don't think she'll be so kind to you, if you continue
to disobey her order, especially after Nephrite's betrayal..." He
  smugged.

Calesta glared calmly at the stupid youma before him. Hemm...
try to threaten me, eh? You should know better than to mess with
me. Now, you're dead. He thought. He held out his right hand
and a golden glow blinked into existence. The youma winced at
the strenght of the energy ball.

"Oh, don't worry. I'm not about to kill the messenger of the
Queen." Calesta smiled gleefully. "But someone might." He dropped
the energy ball into the youma's grip, then vanished into thin air.

The youma was still thoroughly confused, staring at the
energy globe bewilderedly, when a voice called out. "Hold it
right there. You, Nega creeps." Suddenly, the Sailor Senshi
were all around him. "You're moon dust now. In the name of
the moon, I shall punish you!!" said Sailor Moon.

"Aaarrrggghhh..." After a short fight, the youma died.

"Wow, this is close," said Sailor Moon, wiping off sweats
from his forehead. "We nearly lost it!"

"It won't be, if you're not late!!" snorted Rei.

"Hey, I did not!!" retorted Serena.

        "Yes, you did!!" said Rei.

"Calm down, you two." Lita tried to separate the fighting
  pair.

"Good thing that Ami's computer detected the energy globe.
This youma was clever enough to drain energy without our noticing,
if he didn't gather it into that glowing globe, we might never
find him. We must be careful, this might be a new trick of the
  enemy." Luna said seriously.

"Hey, don't worry, Luna. We defeat him, don't we? We can do
it again. Umm... anyone care for some ice-creams, I starving!!"
Serena babbled, then pulled Lita and Ami with her as she ran away.

"Why do I have to put up with this?" Rei and Luna sighed.

"Oh, and Artemis, have you ever heard of something called
the Rainbow Crystals?" asked Mina. She was laying on her bed,
talking to Artemis via communicator. Her guardian cat was still
in Tokyo, guilding the other Senshi as the Central Command ( though
no one knew that yet, not even Luna ), while Mina was in England,
fighting her share of youma all by herself.

"No. Why do you ask?" replied Artemis.

"Because, he just called me this evening." Mina stared around
to make sure that no one was around. "He read me a story about the
Rainbow Crystals, then he hanged up. Weird, isn't it?" Mina looked
  puzzled.

"Humm... What is he up to this time?" said Artemis tiredly.

"I don't know. Well, it could be a mere story after all,
maybe he's just bored and wanted to play tricks on me. He sure
sounds like it." Mina frowned, reaching out to the plate and
  picked up an apple.

"But it could also be a hint... Listen, Mina. Tell me every-
thing he told you about the Rainbow Crystals. Let's see if we can
figure something out." Artemis said thoughtfully.

"OK!! It starts like this..." Mina said, she recounted the
story as she bit into the apple.

After listening to the story, Artemis thought for a long
while. It sounded familiar, but when did I ever heard about it?
He thought. Seven Warriors trapped in seven Rainbow Crystals,
  by the enemy Queen... Hummm...

"Artemis," Mina's voice woke him up from his thought.
"Listen, I've gotta go now. If you're so worry about the
Rainbow Crystals, why don't you ask him yourself?" she said.

"Do you honestly think he'll tell me anything?" Artemis
  sighed.

"Well, he might, or he might not. You can never be sure."
Mina smiled. "Just play along. After all, he is my brother."

"I know..." Artemis sighed heavily as he turned off
the communicator. This was goinng to be a long night.
