The Japanese Animation Fan Fiction Mailing List Archives Scrapbook
(is that title long enough for you? ;)

I decided on a whim to put together a slowly lengthening scrapbook of
memories, the majority of which come from the FFML. Some are from IRC, but
those are harder to keep reasonably edited. <G>

This segment of the scrapbook covers November.

Right around the beginning of the month, we got a "bio" invitation from the
one and only Space Gopher. Well...

-----

<AlberCrombie> I gots an idea - why don't we do a little show and tell....

Since most of the time we set here and
bicker (nothing wrong with that,
mind you) about each other - why not send
out some Bio info on our selves -
that way we can avoid some stupid little
faux paws (or how ever the hell you
spell that) like me thinking Isabel was
male (Soorrrryy!!!!)

<Aaron> How did you get a male name from 'Isabel' anyways?? My name, being
Aaron, I could believe it (Erin) but
Isabel??

<Damon> Well, I've *been* doing a fictional autobio, but... :)

5'8", dark brown hair, brown eyes.
I'm Italian (or at least, 1/4th of me is),
but I don't have a swarthy
	complexion.

Hobbies: (aside from anime) writing (of
course), roller skating,
	    hobby gaming (1830, Outpost, etc.),
British SciFi, plus other stuff
I can't think of right now.

Spend most of my time working at
Highlander cafe on campus, doing
homework, going to class, or sleeping.

	Christian.

	Personable, but motenai. Oh well.

[quick note - "motenai" means "unpopular with girls" in Japanese]

Hang out with Steve when I'm in Florida.

I'm 22. Going to Carnegie Mellon
University, majoring in Physics,
	Computer Science Track.  Hate the Physics;
the CS is okay I guess.
Started in '91, missed a year, and will be
here next year. *sigh*

I can actually cook reasonably well. (I
had to learn; the cafeteria food
	was killing me ;)

[note: It got better, really! And I can't afford not to live on it now,
so I have to
learn to like it 8P ]

	Favorite recipies: lasagna, banana bread,
and macaroni and cheese
(from scratch). The lasagna, 'cause I'm
Italian of course! The banana
bread, 'cause it's quick and makes a good
snack. (and I inherited ye
olde secret of making it stay moist from
my grandmother) The mac and
cheese, 'cause I can't live healthily all
the time! :) (that, and it's cheap)

Other hobbies. Playing the keyboard (not
very well), composing
computer music (not very well), the
occasional computer game.

	No GF. (big surprise here)

Can't think of anything else. Guess I
should start on my CS homework
now; it's due tomorrow, and I have about
seven hours of code yoinking
	to do.

[note to the uninformed: Both the "motenai" and the "no GF" status have
changed
since I posted this <G>]

<Aaron> Oh, I'm about 5-7, Male, blond/brown hair, blue eyes, hobbies are
Anime,
reading and video games (can you say
'Nerd'? I knew you could :) I
	wear glasses...rather LARGE glasses, since
I'm so nearsighted I can't
even see a half foot in front of my eyes
without everything blurring
up (my computer screen, a foot? not. TV
about 8 feet away? sheyeah,
	right) I'm 15 years old...um...what else?
can't think of anything
else, other than the fact that I have this
innate knack to remember
scripts to Anime and parts of fanfics at
the drop of a hat...but can't
	remember how *OLD* I am sometimes....oh, I
also have rather strange
tastes in fanfics, I don't usually like
pure comedies, but if they're
	stupid enough, I love them....yeep, I also
have a tendancy to babble,
like now :) {ya, shut up} [where have you
been?] {snooping} [in who's
	stuff?] {yours} [WHAT?!?!?!?!] {how much
ya gonna pay me to keep your
secrets?} [I'll continue to keep you
created] {um....deal} [good plan]

	I'm strange...

<Roy> Sex: Male, but I'm so ugly it wouldn't matter which one anyway.

	Race: Korean-American, definitely lame.

Age: 19, mentally 80, feel as if life is
over for me and all I want to do
is sit in the room at the home and
watch tv all day.

	Height: 5' 11

	Weight: 180

Home: At moment in College. Bard College
along the Hudson river in NYS.
	      Bard College is a really
lamelamelame college that is a small liberal
arts school. Its no surprise why
I'm here, cause I'm LAMELAMELAME!!

Hobbies: Definitely not anime, yeah right.
used to be a Black Belt in
Tae Kwon Do, then realized I'm to much of
a wimp to ever get into a fight
(I'm sorry, sir, here, have some gim-chee)
so two years running I haven't
done any exercise, just sit in my room and
watch tv. I write stories
about lame stuff like real life and Ranma.
Once in a while, I'll think
I'm actually good then write furiously for
days on end and load people's
mailboxes with other junk and fill up RAAS
with more garbage. LAMELAMElAME.

Girlfriend: The usual answer would be no,
but miracuously, I have a
	            beautiful girlfriend at the
moment. I haven't got her to
admit yet that the only reason
she's with me is cause she
		feels sorry for me.

what peeves me: When people think that
the `G' sound in Korean
sounds like a `K.' Also Jerkoffs
like you!!

<Isabel> Name: Isabel Fontenelle Arantes
	Nationality: Brazillian
	Lives/lived in: Wellesly Massachusets (for
the moment), Mexico,
Brazil, Moscow and London. (My dad is a
diplomat, it's his
	job to move a lot)
	Age: 13
Hobbies: Wasting my teenager years staying
home on the internet,
and having a great time! ;) Oh yeah, I
also collect anime and
	manga, in particular RT's work.
Reading and writting is great, too.

	Friends off the internet: Practically
none.
Family: (My siblings are some of my
closest friends) Afonso 19,
Inez (female) 17, and Beatriz 16. And of
course me wonderful
	parents. (Yeah right! ;))
Things that bore the hell out of me:
Politics, most history,
who's hotter than who in anything, alot of
stuff related to
computers, and anything else I can't
remember right now. :)

Height: Just below 5 feet. :(

Weight: Ever heard of a female actually
gave out their
	weight willingly?!

Hair: A light brown, a little past my
shoulders.

Eyes: I think it's green-grey, no one can
specify exactly
	what color it is.

Interesting stuff about me: Other than
that I speak
	portuguese and english, nothing!

After six years in college and deciding
that I do not enjoy my major one
	little bit, I'm a little bitter - I think
I'm allowed :) So my real goal is
to end up working in the comics industry
or anime industry. No joke! I
like it a hell of a lot more than I do
Engineering, and I think I can make
	it.

Take my advice - If you are just going/
just went into college and you do
not know what you want to do - FIGURE IT
OUT QUICK! I really regret
wasting the past six years - I really
don't recommend discovering that you
don't like what you are studying when it's
really too late to quit. ICK!

But other than that, I'm really a cool guy
with a slight ego problem. :)

<WindLily> O.K. My turn.
	(Borrowed your form, Isabel.)

	Name: Shannon M. Richmeyer
	(And yes, I am female.)

<Bruce> You know I think this was directed towards me. I'd ask Shannon,
but
	she'd think the question rhetorical.

<WindLily> Nationality: U.S. Citizen

Lives/lived in: Scotland, Greece, most of
the United States, Florida at
the moment. (My Dad was in the Navy.)

Age: Older than dirt, younger than God.
(35)

	Hobbies: Writing, anime, horse back
riding, reading, Aikido and keeping
up with an almost 4 yr. old dragon (um, I
mean daughter.)
And this and the Ranma ML. Amazing how
these two can suck away all
	your free time.

	Job: Free-lance graphic artist

Family: You don't want to know.

	Height: 5' 4"

	Weight: As Isabel said.

Hair: Copper colored, short on top, just
below shoulder blades in the back.

Eyes: Moss green with light brown flecks.

Interesting stuff about me: I refuse to
live in Kansas and have both feet
firmly set on the yellow brick road.
I wanna be Bette Middler when I grow up.
Or maybe Ripley from Alien. ^_-

By the by: How many women are on this
list? Is it only Sapphire, Isabel,
	Hitomi and me?

<Nabiki> OH!OH! LURKER! OVER HERE! ME! I'm a girl. Hope to get out a fanfic
I've been working on... (Insert standard
"My dog ate my computer" excuse
here) BTW, If anyone cares, I'm 5'7",
brown shoulder lenghth hair, brown
eyes, and a personality that is a mix
between Nabiki and Kodachi. Be glad
you don't know me in real life.... (Insert
kodachi-aprooved laugh here!)

* Damon raises an eyebrow. "Should I be glad I haven't seen Ranma 1/2?"

<Isabel> You haven't seen Ranma yet? Oh, shame of all shames!

Seriously, though, go and try it out. The
first series is definitely worth it; not
all of the second, though... (Not my fault
I don't like the fact that they've
reinforced the martial arts in it!)

<Damon> I'm staying away from Ranma for multiple reasons, not the least of
which is the silliness addiction that
seems to permeate its followers.

<Charles> I own most of the Viz Ranma releases (one of the few benefits of
working at an honest-to-god job while I'm
still in school), and I like them
quite a bit. I'm also not generally a
very silly person -- I'm on the Ranma
ML, and I'm not a member of any of the
profusion of godawful churches
they seem so fond of. I know that you,
Damon, have read my fictional
works to date ... they aren't
<intentionally> silly.

Ranma is, nominally, a light comedy. It's
sort of like MI-lite, or
perhaps UY on a load of lorazepam. I
highly recommend that you judge
the series on its own merits, rather than
the behavior of a lot of
perpetually giddy raa people (most of
whom, incidentally, also happen to
	be generally excited newbies anyway).

Besides, you're at CMU -- you can check
out Ranma w/o having to
buy it. I highly recommend that you watch
it -- if for no other reason
than understanding the profusion of Ranma
fanfics (many of which are
	really good, BTW) and Ranma
jokes/comments/analogies which seem to
permeate this list, and any other net
resource dealing with anime.

<Damon> As I mentioned above, I have other reasons for avoiding Ranma.
I've
seen snippets BTW, and I wasn't impressed,
anyway.

If the story were such that it lost its
main reason for me not watching
it, it would lose everything. The plot,
IMO, is centered around one
specific thing which I refuse to deal
with.

<Jeff Rutsch> Ah, well then you may not have seen anything good at all! I
can't
stand 'An Akane to Remember' - it's
abominably bad! And the other
OAV's - blech. And the second series (most
of Ranma) seems to be
	depressingly, uniformly, slapstick. I've
only seen a few episodes but they
all seem the same. So I don't blame you.
However, the first 18 episodes -
the first series - before it was cancelled
for reworking for a different
audience - now they are wonderful! And
there are a few episodes which
have long dialogues _very_ reminiscent of
Maison Ikkoku. And, also, the
'central joke' is treated more seriously.

<Damon> I don't know what I've seen. But the central 'joke' is one of the
reasons
	I'm avoiding it.

[note: since this, I've seen "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire; still
not
	impressed, and still repelled]

<Damon> Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Dread Worf I still can't stand.
Ranma 1/2 being anime though it is, it's
still no exception.

<Charles> Hmmm... I partially agree on the Hitchiker thing -- the last two,
or
	three, books definitely approached sub-
par. (IMHO, of course).

<Damon> They were okay *once*. Once was plenty.

<Jeff Rutsch> Yes, most of it has become dated, due to its own success, but
the
first page of the first book, IMO, is
still hilarious. It has more and better
jokes than the rest of the book!

<Damon> I agree. But I'd rather leave it alone. Give it another five
years or
so, and I might read it again. But not
now.

<AlberCrombie> You don't watch Monty Python do you?

<Damon> What *ever* gave you that idea? :)

<AlberCrombie> I KNEW IT!! I KNEW IT!!! I knew there was a reason I didn't
like you - You're too normal. You sound
like some of my friends who
	like BevHills901284875, or Melrose Place
or Wheel of Fourtune....

<Damon> I don't. Can't stand most stuff on TV. I watch Deadly Games now
and then, but that's about it.

<AlberCrombie> ME : Do you want to watch XXXX

Them : Nah - we saw that once, remember?

Me : but it was good!

Them : so? We saw it. OOOHH! Look a new
made-for-TV movie
about somebody having a tragic romance on
channel 3! Where's the
	popcorn...Or there's a Gomer Pyle, USMC
marathon on Nick at Nite.
	You choose.

Me : POUND! POUND! POUND! <--sound of my
head and their floor

<Damon> I don't do tragic romances, either. And Gomer Pyle's it on too
thick
	for me.

The Princess Bride, I'll watch over and
over again. And Nausicaa.

As a rule, total silliness *might* be okay
*once*. Other things, though...

<AlberCrombie> Now, here's the kicker - you get to guess whether I'm
seriously
insulting you or there should be a smiley
at the end of this post. Enjoy!

<Damon> Whatever. :-p

<SkyKnight> I figured I'd borrow AlberCrombie's format...it'll help keep me
organized. Heh...I've also added a few
comments...

I'll add that some of this may seem
familiar, for those of you who've read
	my fanfics.

doing it.) :)
	        -Extreme greenhorn at computer
graphics/rendering/animation.
		(Using Caligari trueSpace and
Real3D...intend to do more than just
		as a hobby, eventually.)
		-Hopeless 'Conquer the Galaxy'
style videogame addict. (Any
other 'Master of Orion' junkies out
there?) :)

<Damon> Wow, someone else who actually liked that. I sold my copy a while
	back, though.

<SkyKnight> -Computer roleplaying games...specifically the first-person
action/adv.
		kind. (Can't wait for Daggerfall!)
8)

<Damon> Doom. More specifically, Aliens TC Doom. Interestingly enough,
(and
I've mentioned this to Steve) it can't
scare me no matter what. Even the
	original Alien couldn't. But Steve's
driving? *That* scares me. What's
worse, his sister drives an ambulance, and
he's afraid of *her* driving.
	:)

<SkyKnight> -Roleplaying games, although, sadly, most of my friends have
gotten
off of AD&D, and none of them like
Champions. :(
	        -I did collect Magic-The Gathering
cards for a while, but I got sick
of trying to keep up with the 'Arms
Race', and haven't played for a
		long time now.
	        -Comics collecting to a small
degree. All time fave was 'Prototype'
		published by Malibu, but they
canned it. Damn. :(
I did collect Iron Man for a
while, but then they changed the
armour design to one I hate, and
changed Stark's character even
		more. :P
	        -Manga collecting, just started.
Currently trying to scrounge up the
complete set of "Ghost in the
Shell".
	        -Ancient/Medieval History, with
the emphasis being on arms and
		armour of the ages.
	        -Archery. (Traditional Barebow
style)
	        -Hiking.

<Damon> Forgot about this one. Camping is one of mine.

<SkyKnight> -Wannabe SCA member.
	        -Blacksmithing. (Yes, with a
forge, fire, hammer, and anvil.) :)

<AlberCrombie> * PUNS!!!!!! (hehehehehehhe!!!!!)

<SkyKnight> - Ditto! (AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :> )

	Favorite Movies:
Star Wars; The Good, The Bad, and
the Ugly; Fistful of Dollars; For
a Few Dollars More; The Quick and THe
Dead; Terminator 1 & 2; Commando (for the corny lines...); Predator
1 & 2; All the Indianna Jones Flicks; All the
	'Dirty Harry' movies; The Perfect Weapon;
some of the Bruce Lee ones (can't
think of the names offhand..); SOme of the
Chuck Norris ones (FireWalker and
Lone Wolf McQuade spring immediately to
mind...)

	I Think I'll stop that list now....sorry.

<Damon> The *only* scifi movie that ever impressed me. (Terminator 2) And
it
wasn't because of the action, or the
special effects. This one had a
decent plot. (you usually don't find that
in these types of movies)

<SkyKnight> Favorite TV :
Dr. Who (which we can't get up here
anymore)

<Damon> Collecting. Between Steve and I, we have all the Tom Bakers except
for
Robot, and lots of misc. other stuff.

<SkyKnight> Old Star Trek reruns
	   Mission Impossible, the brief remake
they did of it.
	   THe Outer Limits
	   The Royal Canadian Air Farce
	   The Learning channel..any historical
documentary
	   Any National Geographic show.
	   Benny Hill...can't get that either,
anymore. *waaaaaaaah!* :(

	Favorite Anime:
	   BubbleGum Crisis...Crash was okay, but
Crisis is still better.
	   Lodoss Wars
	   All-purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku-Nuku
(Or whatever the title is...)
	   Ah! My Goddess
	   Black Magic M-66
	   Dirty Pair

	Goals :

	        Right now I really can't say; I've
rediscovered my interest in
computers, and am working at self-
educating myself in some ways to lean
more towards a computer oriented career.
I'd love to get into animation & Graphics, but there's a thing
missing to get into some of the local programs
	called 'an art degree'...

<AlberCrombie> To visit Japan

<SkyKnight> Also one of mine...after I've learned some Japanese! :)

<AlberCrombie> Win the damn lottery (I keep meaning to buy that bloody
ticket)

<SkyKnight> Take a number, and get in line on that one! :)

<AlberCrombie> Make it to Katsucon 2 in March (I can't make it AnimeExpo!)

<SkyKnight> Ditto.

<AlberCrombie>After six years in college and deciding that I do not enjoy
my major
	one
<SNIP>
like what you are studying when it's
really too late to quit. ICK!

<SkyKnight> I'll have to say listen to this guy; he just paraphrased what
it took me
	five-and-a-half years of university to
discover. My marks weren't high
enough to get into what I really wanted at
the time, computers, and
	Chemical Engineering wasn't nearly
chemically-oriented enough for my
	liking.

By the time I realized this, I was already
committed to finishing the
program, both financially and in terms of
educational credits. (Unless you
	LIKE starting over again...)

The net result is I'm in a semi-
engineering job with no idea of where I
want to go; I'm content right now (having
a paycheck does that for you),
but I'm not spending more than a couple of
years in the Pharmaceutical
industry. I want to do more; I've got
plenty of hopes and dreams, and I just
hope I can find the intestinal fortitude
to follow through on some of them...

Short Personal Blurb: I'm the typical
'nice guy', wear glasses, am almost
painfully shy at times, and don't make
friends easily. From years of habit
forced on me by school, I'm still pretty
much a loner.

<Damon> No glasses, but the rest fits me as well. Oh well.

<Isabel> Is everybody else shy, too?

<Damon> Unlikely, but considering this bunch... :-/

<Aaron> Actually, I'm probably about as shy as Bert...in Real Life(tm) I am
at least, once I get online, I'm rather
outspoken and it's hard to
shut meup {got that right} [who asked
you??] *sounds of fighting, then
silence* *Aaron comes back, dusting off
his clothes* that'll keep 'im
	for a while.. {I'll be baaaacckkkk!}
[shyeah, right]

<Isabel> (I know I am! Guess how I answer questions, usually. 'Yes' 'no'
'hmhm'
*nod, smile*) But then, away from 'normal'
(Who set up this 'normal' thing,
anyway?) people, we uncape our true
personalities and become fiends!

No offense to anyone, of course. ^_^

<Damon> "fiends"? Are you *sure* you meant that? Ummm...

Pssst. We have a live one here, doctor.

	:^)

<Isabel> Ok, so it isn't fiend, but I'm allowed to exgagerate, am I not?

<Damon> You're not allowed. No, never ever. :)

I am not a fiend!! *I AM NOT A FIEND*!!

Ahem. You may return to your regularly
scheduled spam. ;)

<AlberCrombie> Alright - you're not a fiend - but you're ugly and your
mother
	dresses you funny. :)

<Damon> That wasn't my mother; I dress that way on purpose. :)

[I knew it was time to stop wearing that
shirt; got it five years ago]

Ugly? Not unless you found Godai
unattractive. I resemble him
	(a *lot*) in real life.

<Aaron> Well, I'm always looking for more friends...(insert diety of your
choice
here) knows I don't have enough of 'em
outside of IRC and this ML :)

Oh, and part of my Bio I neglected to
add....I'm the night owl from
hell, and play video games to the
exclusion of all else at times...like
	today...since Sunday afternoon I've had a
total of 3 hours sleep....I
usually need about 10 hours per day, but
I've got a game rented..that
	I just finished...

	I'm TIRED and strange :)

<Isabel> Don't participate in the 'baka' threads (You know, stuff like 'I
eat baka
pepper!' 'Only bakas eat baka pepper!'
ect, etc) and after a while, you see
that a lot of the posters here aren't
exactly little-miss-happy-bringer,
	or if you must, little-mr-happy-bringer.

Ok, so it isn't fiend, but I'm allowed to
exgagerate, am I not?

<SkyKnight> Anyhow, that's enough about me. This may or may not give you
ideas
on what drives me to write now. Feel free
to write me about anything; I'm
	almost always checking my mail.

	Sayonara!

<Damon> Um, okay. :)

<DaR> Oh, what the hell. :)

	Name: Dan Root
Age: 20 going on 35 it seems. <sigh>
	Height: 5'8" or so.
	Weight: 135 lbs
	Hair/Eyes: Brownish/Blue-grey

	I'm currently a student/computer
consultant for Carnegie Mellon University
in lovely Pittsburgh PA. Also the current
president of CMU's Vermillion
	Anime club.

	Hobbies: Watching and reading
Anime/manga. Learning Japanese.
Drawing, piano, and adminning my personal
Linux box. Once upon a time
I used to role play a lot but I haven't
been in a good campaign in
	years.

Favorite Anime series: KOR, Ranma, A!MS,
Miracle Girls, 3x3 Eyes,
	Dominion, Tenchi. etc. etc.

	Favorite non-anime TV: X-Files. (Don't
watch much TV anymore)

	Musical Tastes: Hard Rock (Queen,
Zepplin, Aerosmith)
	                 Jazz
	                 J-Pop (Of course :)

	Fanfics I've written/am writing:
	  Pictures Through the Looking Glass
Chapters 1-3 (KOR)
	  Ranma Fanfiction Parody Fanfiction (not
yet released)
	  Fatemaker (AMG, in progress)

Goals: Graduate in the next 2
years (shearight)
		        Finish the *@@$#$%!&
fanfics so I can get them out of my
			head. :)
Get all of KOR TV on LD
unsubbed.

Beyond that I'm you average, everyday CS
major at college :)

<Damon> Here's Steve's. Just in case anyone's curious. :)

Sex: often (according to him, anyway)

	Age: 23

Hobbies: Tae Kwon Do (black belt, second
degree, instructor trainee),
	    Ninjutsu, Star Trek: TNG, camping,
synthesizer, electric guitar,
	    harmonica, very bad puns. (actually,
the first two are more his way of
	    life than anything else)

Needs three more episodes of STTNG to
complete his collection.

[note: he has them *all* now. <G>]

He can't read a note of music, and can
still play well enough to have
	made several semi-professional
appearances.

He *dabbles* in anime, but somehow he
found out about You'reasickodoji,
and I'm wondering what to do now.
Suggestions?

<DaR> Put him out of his misery? Good animation, the subject matter is in
somewhat poor taste by most people's
opinions. <shrug>

<Damon> Rather difficult to do. In Tae Kwon Do, you learn how to kill
before
	you learn how to injure.

	Other suggestions that are *possible*?

<Wing> Show him "My little pony" or a Barney (purple dinosaur) show. It'll
snap him from Hyper-Hentai Mode to
Blithering Un-thinking mode... ;)

<Damon> Too late, it didn't help. He seems to like Warner/purple thing
spam as
	well, too.

<Wing> Dunno what's going on, but it seems fun. ^_^

Profile: Hi, my name is Wing. But you
can call me Wing. Born in the
		wonderfully chaotic land of Hong
Kong, I arrived in America quite
young. Around the age of ~3 was
when I got here, so please don't
ask me to relate tales of the
"homeland"... I like working with
		computers in addition to anime,
experiencing life, learning, and
having friends keep me company. :)
I'm not really all that
special except I don't act much
like other students... and I'm
		way too nice, serious, helpful,
understanding, and open to be
a psychotic serial killer, so won't
you be my friend too? (hehe)

Sex: Male. Of course, it really doesn't
matter too much, does it?

Race: Asian(Cantonese). Proud of who I
am, most of the time. ;)

Age: 19(almost 20). I have been noted to
display mannerisms,
	knowledge, wisdom, and ego-trips of
someone much older... maybe
	60ish...

	Height: 5' 7".

	Weight: 120-135. I don't get it... I can
eat _ANYTHING_ and no weight
		gain... go figure...

<Damon> Same here, about the weight gain. I've stayed at exactly 125 for
	about four years now. Odd.

<Wing> Kewl!!! Another one! :)

<Damon> Heh. A fast metabolism is nice. Sometimes.

<Wing> When is it not? Only thing that comes to mind is if your system got
injected with some nerve toxin... the high
metabolism get's rather
	annoying then...

<Damon> Try, when you're trying to get work done and your stomach starts to
tell you to put something in it. It can
get real insistent *real* fast.

<Wing> Wing. [ *grumble* Hmmm... I'm hungry... time to eat!! ]

<Damon> Food is nice. Too bad I'm at the computer cluster, and home (and
food!) is twenty minutes' walk away. And
I need to finish my 212 (CS)
	homework first.

<Wing> Don't worry. I couldn't enjoy the food as I couldn't eat... *wail*
*SM
	Bawl*

Apparently, I acid-burned my tongue and
throat while forcing myself to
eat a slice of grapefruit... nasty little
fruits aren't they? Well, it's been
hurtin for the past week and today, it's
"getting better" except that I
can't really taste anything except a
strong sour taste in my mouth.
	*tears*

I just had some ice cream... couldn't
taste a thing... sure hurt
	though... :|

<Damon> Never had grapefruit. I should feel lucky, I guess.

Fruit has been known to give people
stranger reactions. For example,
Steve got some peach juice on his
hands...which started melting off his
skin. How that happened, I have no clue.
(didn't bother anyone else,
	either)

<Damon> Steve is 162 and trying hard to lose two pounds. Why, I have no
idea.

<Wing> Hmmm... in the scheme of things, what's 2 pounds? *shrug*
[ and because one person could not lose
two pounds, the planet became un-
balanced and plunged into the sun... very
slowly... ] Oooohhh...

<Damon> He hates being able to pinch an inch around the stomach area. He
took
up body conditioning a while back. Now
most of the people in his class
can wail on him, and he'll just stand
there, take it, and smile. This
has something to do with the pinched inch,
but I'm not sure what.

<Wing> Oops... a bit off topic. Gomen ne!

<Damon> Everything is off topic today, don't worry about it.

<Wing> Home: Somewhere in smoggy LA. No need to look for me. The poison
	will probably kill most "outsiders".

Job: Computer Lab Consultant. No, I don't
know what it really means.
All I know is that there are people
in here claiming to know how to
use the computers. My job is to
stop those who don't from tearing
the lab apart... some job eh?
Anyone wanna help? :)

Hobbies: ANIME!!! Of course, being a CS
major, my interests splash into
		computers and games. Other than
that, I know a book or 12's
		worth in magic, magick, psi,
psychic abilities, chemistry, biology,
		psychology, music, art, philosophy,
OOBE, OBE, AP, Calc, Startrek,
		weaponry, technology, plants,
herbs, animals, poisons, etc...

I also bike to school, love
watching tv as I finish off bags of
cheese nachos (when not sick), and
currently looking for a
		girlfriend. Plenty of friends who
are girls, but no SO. :|

Also currently author to a rather
incomplete and unknown fanfic
		called "The Breaking of the
String". *sigh*

Girlfriend: Well, from above, you can tell
I'm not really checking this thing
		first... nope. No girlfriend...
And no idea of what she'll look like.

Pet Peaves: Poeple asking me "How do I
save?" , while clicking mouse in
midair - "it doesn't move!" *sigh*

Was adopted into one of the oldest
families in the state. Family has
State run museum. Can receit by memorey
parental linage back 5
generations. Learned to hate this in
college, as the school I went to
was not far from the museum and just about
every history major there
felt it was his/her duty to inform me of
my families deep roots in the
	state.

Engaged once, never married, not looking.

deparmant. Having the President and
the Senior Vice President of FEI both
telling me to do two totally
	different things "Right Now!"

I am mainly a loner, I used to have a
life, but work, daibettes, and

I've gotten back into the

and or write my own story to
be published. The thought of writing for
t.v/movies is a good one. I'd
first like to finish off college first tho
;)

	    Can't think of anything else,

Well my work is done here, ;)

<Charles> I suppose I fall neatly into the rubric of shyness everyone seems
to be
talking about. The only difference is
that I might be considered shy
online, as well. I like to consider my
demeanor as an expression of
ultimate economy of bandwidth, but that's
an entirely separate story.

	Name: Charles Lewis

Age: 20. Kicking and screaming, I'll turn
21 in about a month.

	Height: 6'3 and change.

	Weight: 240-ish (give or take)

	Home: Sunny, lovely, geriatric Sarasota,
FL.

	Physical appearance and distinguishing
scars: As a rule, I try to keep
myself as unkempt as possible. I have a
full, reddish beard and
brown-red hair. I wear glasses, largely
because I hated the effort
	contacts required.

Occupation: You know, I'm really not sure
about this one. I'm a
student, in my fourth year, at New College
(its own interesting story,
	check out its home page
http://www.sar.usf.edu). I transferred from
Hamilton College, where I had basically
completed two majors (Computer
Science and Philosophy -- in that order).
I had sort of neglected the CS
side of things, but resumed my
apprenticeship under the tutleage of the
	UV vomit-god.

	In addition to (allegedly) attending
college, I also work
more-or-less full time as MIS director,
and occasionally a pinch-hitting
programmer, for a rapdily growing local
development firm, which is
also a subsidiary of a singularly massive
and GENOM-like international
computer company, where I get to fight
tooth and nail with software and
hardware products most people won't get to
see for years and, worse
still, bureaucrats from Long Island (given
the choice, you can probably
	guess which I prefer).

What this means, I'm not quite sure. I
don't know what I want to
do with my life -- I like the nice, happy
paychecks from work, but I also
like the idea of pursuing more education.
I don't particularly get off
on either at the moment, to be honest.

Hobbies: Between school and work, I don't
have a lot of time for hobbies
as-such. Some of the trappings of both
the job and the schooling serve
as hobbies -- I still like to read books
by ancient dead people, and I
spend undue amounts of time doing UNIX
system administration,
development and general tweaking on my
retinue of odd equipment.

I have been reading fan-fictions for
several years (I remember
when ftp.std.com was founded as the
archive -- let's put it that way),
but just recently decided to write one
(BGC: Machina non Grata -- ch.2 is
done and will be released some time
Thursday night, BTW). I like to
write dark, hopefully disturbing work. I
think I have a sense of humor
	(?), but I can't see writing comedies ...
Ranma work is best left to
those of lighter spirit than I.

	Favorite anime: That's a tough one. I
like Takahashi stuff, as I think
_almost_ everyone does. I think UY is one
of my all-time favorites,
simply because it has soooo much going on
below the surface -- there's
always a little something more to get from
it. I'm also a big fan of the
	Macross family, dating way back.

I would, traditionally, watch any anime at
least once. Given the
sort of things ADVision is releasing
lately, I think that's changed. I
can tolerate sex, violence and death
(hell, I even enjoy them), but I
can't tolerate plotless drivel -- with, or
without, T&A. Without shame,
I freely admit to enjoying all sorts of
anime -- from Sailor Moon to MI
to Gainax to Miyazaki, and I similarly
admit to really enjoying dramatic
	anime.

Musical tastes: I like to think that I
run the gamut, although I've
grown more than sick of classic rock. I
seem to tend towards jazz and
classical recently, but I also have a
large collection of vintage blues
	... and punk bootlegs.

	Anyhow, I think I've yammered enough -- I
think I've broken Charles' law
	of bandwidth consumption! <egads>

<DarkWind> As a sideline - I can't help wondering at
how much everyone
providing a Bio is similar, I must have
seen dozens of similiarities
	between everyone...

Hey - I guess the saying 'Great minds
think alike' applies here 'eh??

	Well here's my personal stats....

	Name: Brett Handy (sometimes goes
by the name: DarkWind)
	Height: 6 foot 6 (about 200cm)
	Weight: 220lbs (about 110kg)
Sex: I'm a guy of course....
(this is for you Wolf)
	Hair Colour: Brown
	Eye Colour: Brown
	Nationality: Australian
	Age: 21

Fav Sports: Fencing (not that I get much
time anymore)
	              Tennis
	              *Rugby League* Football (not
that whimpy game the Yanks
		play)
	                {Ohhh I can just about
hear the responses to this one....}
	              Surfing

Fav Hobbies: Role Playing (just about any
game...)
	              Reading
	              Writing
	              Watching Anime (bet you'd
*never* have guessed :)

	Occupation: Currently a student, but
looking for work in the
	              Computer Industry.

	Self Description:

If I wasn't such a big guy and into such violent sports,
I'd probably be considered a 'nerd' (but no one's *ever*
called called me that to my face :). I wear glasses when not
playing sports and my friend's (mostly) first reaction when
asked what kind of person I am is to tell you I'm a 'nice guy'
(I gotta get a better class of friends).

	FanFic's Written (and being written):

                     Shifters - A Ranma1/2 FanFic

Bubblegum Shift - A BGC FanFic

A Trek into the Past - A BGC FanFic

Oh my God ? - An OMG FanFic

Well that's pretty much it about me - if
you've read my OMG
FanFic you've probably already got an idea
about what I'm like
	**Shameless Plug**

<Andrew> First, the stats:

	Name: Andrew Mallalieu Stodden
	Age: 20 (born 04-22-75)
	Sex: Male
	Weight: 175 pounds
Height: 6 feet 3 inches and change.

	Other Stuff:

Well, I work nights mostly, I rent anime
despite the fact that I don't
own a VCR (I go over to friends houses and
force it on them.) Not
	much else.

	(A new catagory!)
Things about which are true but you won't
believe:
		1) I'm a flat broadcast telepath (I
think it, you think it)
		2) All my dreams are about the
future, and they are always
		     right.

I did warn you you wouldn't believe, most
don't. but anyone who has
known me for a while does.

I can conceptualize anything, and often
end up building it. I have an
endless range of inventions that are
listed as possible, becuase of
some lack of technology though, are not
built.

	I don't have a girlfriend, stemming from
the fact that I don't have any
	emotions.

I'm not a writer in any sense of the word,
and WliiA is the first thing
	I've written in seven years.

Not much else really... oh well...

	Well, that's that.

<Jeff> Hobbyist by nature, fen by choice....

From the tender age of 5, when he first
received Star Wars toys in a
multitude of tiny packages under the
sprawling Christmas tree, Mr.
Williamson was doomed to ever onwards
exist in a world of primarily
	introverted interests and introspective
pursuits. Gifted with above
	average intelligence, he alienated his
peer groups by being
accelerated not one, but two grades in
grammar and middle school. It
was not until high school that he learned
the healing power of laughter,
and in acquiring "a damned odd sense of
humour" (cf. _Williamson's roommates_, interview, September 1995), he
managed to keep them
laughing long enough that they forgot why
it was he didn't belong.

College provided a cascade of blinding
epiphanies, from the fickle ways
of romance ("three times you deny me" --
Tim Rice, _Jesus Christ
Superstar_) to the harsh realities of
science ("Math is HARD!" --Barbie,
1992). Chemistry, other than in a purely
recreational sense, seemed to
NOT be the wisest career/study path for
this subject; instead, he
shifted his thought paradigms to his work-
study position--and studied
computers, turning his grades around in
record time.

	A near-fatal multi-month "merged
permanence" of sorts led to Mr.
Williamson's nadir, the summer of 1992.
Drummed out of university, no
job, no permanent residence, pariahed from
his family, he despaired.
And out of the ashes of his former life
grew independence,
	self-reliance, a temporary position with
the university that abhorred
	him, and finally permanent employment.

Now he is 23, still heavy-set (a polite
term meaning "fat"), owns a cute
black and white cat named Shada (a
shortened form of her proper
	appellation, Scheherazade), lives with two
roommates, pays his own
taxes, and spends all his spare money on
"toys".

Ever since the age of 5, he was doomed.
For the past 18 years, his
expenses have run from action figures to
comic books to sf/fantasy/etc
novels to compact discs to videotapes to
laserdiscs to home theater
equipment. By nature a collector (not a
packrat, no; one must clear the
old to make way for the new oftimes), the
material he manages to wedge
into 1/3 of the apartment he shares would
easily fill 4/3 of it.

	He credits his current not-quite-sane
state of mind to his wholehearted
embracement of anime fandom in late 1993.

He blames his lack of contribution to the
fanfic ML, and verily, to the
writing community at large, on a job which
sometimes keeps him at work
for 17 hour jags, much as this evening.

And he bids good evening to you all.

	LURKER MODE DEACTIVATED

Okay, here goes. I've been subscribed to
the list for a few weeks, I
have all the stuff saved and will give C&C
as soon as I get around to
reading it (which may be Christmas).

	Name: Arline Lyons
	Age: 22
	Nationality: Irish
	Sex:[CENSORED] Etoo... Female.
Appearance: 5'7", okay weight, long dark
brown hair, blue-grey eyes,
	   glasses
	Occupation: Student, MA in Continental
Philosophy at Warwick
	Interests: Manga/Anime,obviously. Got
hooked on Ranma and
	DragonBall/Z through spending summers in
France, where they were
	shown daily on TV.
RPGs- Long standing AD&D player, only
problem is that my DM is in
	   Dublin...
	Conventions- committee and/or staff for
Leprecon and Gaelcon (Irish
games conventions) over the last 2/3
years.
Music- NIN, Front 242, Clawfinger, Die
Krupps, Jean-Michel Jarre,
	   dance in general.
	Languages- fluent French, currently
learning Japanese and German.
Living/have lived in: Born NY, lived
most of my life in Dublin with 5
years in Paris and then summers in
Geneva or Paris. Dad works with
Irish embassies. Now living in England
for a year to do my MA.

Forgot to check the name of the guy who
started doing engineering and
then found out it wasn't what he wanted...

<Damon> There was more than one.

<Arline> Truest thing ever said. If you're not sure what you want, try
taking a
year out before college. By the time even
one year has gone by, it's so
difficult to turn back. Thankfully, I
liked philosophy, but I know others
who made that mistake. Now, doing
postgrad, I really want to get out of
college. I'm glad I only committed for one
year.

<Damon> In my case, after a year I *did* have the choice to make, but not
because I really wanted it. My GPA after
my first year was a low D. And I
	failed the introductory Electrical and
Computer Engineering course that
was required as a part of my (old) major.

	Such is life.

<Arline> Goals: Finishing my DBZ fanfic! I will post it here for you all to
savage
	if you really want.

Learning Japanese. Going out to Japan with
the JET programme. Getting
a job in writing, publishing, editing or,
my favourite, translating.

BTW - are there any DB/Z historians out
there? ( The DB equivalent of
	AD&D rules lawyers, like?)

<Ross> My turn. I'll keep this short.

My name is Ross John McKenzie Jr. I'm a
22 year old Grad student
at UCSD (University of California @ San
Diego). My specialization (at
this point in my math career) is
Combinatorial Math. Basically, that
means I'm learning how to count things.

I'm a big fan of fantasy literature (I
think _The Lord of the Rings_ is
one of the greatest series ever written,
and _The Wheel of Time_ isn't
far behind). That hobby has branched out
into many others, including
anime, RPG's, comic books, fencing, and
lately, writing.

I actually look like my emoticon; _long_
brown hair, glasses,
beard, the works. And I wear white. All
white. Always. Just because.

	Most importantly, I'm a Christian.

<Damon> Funny. (I mean that in the sense of odd, strange) Steve had a
habit
of wearing all black for a while. Did
wonders for his complexion. (he's
	*very* pale)

And he's a Christian too, oddly enough.

<Wolf> I stole someone else's form, sorry.

	Name: White Wolf
	Age: 22 months
	Residence: Klondike
	Sex: Yes.
Appearance: 3'6" at the shoulder, 80 lbs.
	Occupation: Hunter
Interests: Anime & cute furry tasty
rabbits.
	Goals: Finishing my AMG/Ranma fanfic.
Learning Japanese.

(Unfortunately, the rest of the bio can
only be understood by wolves, so
	I had to stop here.)

[note: Wolf replied to Bentley's offer for a place in Forbidden Ops. That
was
where this came from]

<Wolf> Long light brown hair, brown eyes, I'm very talkative, (like you
couldn't
guess), and somewhat un-hyper. (Not a
typo. I like to sit for hours
without moving, just to think) I'm 6'0"
and 155lbs. I like to drink,
	I'm normally non-violent, (don't piss me
off, I have a short fuse) I
	don't smoke... anything else?

<Mousse> Handle(s): Mousse Ai Lee (Ra)

this information)

	Sex/Age: Male, 19 (March 12, 1976)

	appearance: 5'7"/5'8", 120 lbs (approx.),
black hair/eyes, glasses.
If you know who Mousse is, you
have an idea what I look like.
there is a picture on my page:
http://www.pixi.com/~mousse/

ethnic background: about 1/2 Chinese, 3/8
Japanese, 1/8 Hawaiian

	education: Graduated from Iolani School
in 94', currently nowhere.

	religion: devout atheist.

	personal status: desperately seeking
Shampoo.
My luck is about as bad as
the real Mousse.

	Favorite stuff:

	        R1/2: Kawaiikune (Terminator

A Day at the Nekohanten (Mousse's
tale); not enough time to work
		        on.

e.t.a: at least one finished by
the end of the year.

<Saf> I'm gone for a few days and my mailbox is almost full and that's
saying a
lot since my mailbox can hold about 15
megs! Why do people mail me
when I'm gone and don't when I'm here???
*sigh* Anyway, glad to be
	back :)

<AlberCrombie> Sorry - 's muh fault, thought it would be cool to share info
-
I promise not to do anything like this
again. maybe.

<Saf> Promises, promises :)

<Saf> Hmm...bios, huh? I guess I can do that :)

	Saf

	*****

Name: Sapphire the Anime Bounty Hunter
Tigress; Sapphire the Blue
	       Tigress; Tigress Lady; Saf
	Gender: female

<Damon> ...

Species: Humanoid Tiger (but you knew
that already :)
Age: old enough to drink, young enough to
party! ;)

<AlberCrombie> Ah - the true 'golden years' -

<Saf> Height: about 5'7"
Weight: CLASSIFIED (and it won't help to
peek at my driver's license
either cuz I lied on the form.
Who doesn't?)
	Appearance: blue with darker blue
stripes; tawny golden eyes; long,
dark blue hair, usually in a
braid over my shoulder
Occupation: Bounty Hunter for hire. You
want it captured; just call
me. (no spiders though - YUKK!)
Home: The Golden Grove. Hardly ever
there since bounty hunters are
		   constantly on the move
Usual outfit: black leather - long pants,
vest, ankle boots, and a
	               headband to keep my hair
out of my eyes. Of course, this
	               is my hunting outfit ;)

<AlberCrombie> WOOF!

	*ahem*...er, sorry - I had to bark, I mean
have you ever heard a gopher
do anything but a kind of squeak? It's
sad, but we have to steal other
critters' sound FXs if we are to prove
that we are as cool as we know
	we are.

<Saf> Cool? Of course you're cool! Gophers live underground don't they?
I've
never heard of gopher tunnels being hot ;)

<Saf> Favorite weapons: blue-laser bullwhip
			electric shock net
			my claws, usually with
poison or sleep-inducing drugs
Likes: almost any kind of music, dancing,
coffee or vanilla ice cream,
	        off-the-wall humor, and anime! :)

<Damon> ...

<Saf> Hates: Spiders and Heights

<AlberCrombie> You forgot a hate : stuffed *CUTE* tigers, etc.

	heheheheheh.....

[note: redirected to the "cute" thread; see below]

<Saf> Other Stuff: trained in acrobatics and
various styles of martial arts
	              (obviously, I like to fight
up close and personal), biased
	              against most forms of
transportation except my own two feet

<Damon> You know, I'm suddenly reminded of a certain martial artist from
	Florida. This is really odd.

	Interesting, tho.

<Saf> Oh really? Who? The Retired Mutant Ninja Arachnophobes? ;)

<Damon> Did you forget my fictional autobio already?? WHO's Mr. Bodyguard
	and weapons man in it?

	:)

I even posted a character sketch of him,
plus a bio. Didn't you notice?

<Saf> Oh yes, _Steve_. No, I didn't forget him. I was just teasing. ;)

Saf
"HELP!! I'm being attacked by killer spiders!!"

<Damon> Eh...heh. I'm going to have to *get* you for that one, you know...

	*grrrumphle*

<Saf> Oh yeah? You and who else? *Saf grins impudently and flexes her
	claws*

Saf
"Intimidation is FUN!"

<Damon> Who else? Mochiron!!

"Hey, Steve. Got a little job for ya."
	"Yeah?"
"You get to tame a tiger."

<Saf> "Oh, Steve. Catch!"

*Saf throws a glass cage of spiders at Steve's feet.

The cage breaks and the spiders are loose.

<Saf> Heh. I may be afraid of spiders but not if they're in containers or
	a couple feet away. :)

<Damon> Realize that Steve is not afraid of spiders to the point of being
unable to do something about them. Let's
just say he finds a way to
deal with them, no matter what. He'd most
likely whip out his
	gasohol-loaded supersoaker, and crisp them
*and* you.

So be careful. I *did* warn you,
remember. :)

Besides, he's more fun if you stay on his
good side. (that's his right
side; his left has a tendency to react a
little more quickly, and catch
you with a painful side kick ;)

He also plays the electric guitar and the
keyboard. Something tells
me you'd appreciate that kind of
performance more than the one I
	mentioned above. 8)

Besides, why would I want to do that to a
fellow netter? Remember, I
only said I was *considering* calling you
cute. Not that I ever did.

Psychology is such a wonderful thing.
(works well on Steve, too)

* Damon looks around at the lost bio thread...

<Damon> Hey, where'd you go all of a sudden?

	Gee, no more piddies...waaah! ;)

"I am Ronald Reagan of Borg! You will be...eh...I don't recall."

* Damon sighs.   "Oh well."

<Damon> Good night, and may the blue bird of happiness not plop on your
	doorstep.

	(yep, I'm *really* tired!)

	Blue Thunder Rising?

Hey!! How annoying. Somebody borrowed my title, kinda. :(

What's worse, it was a Ranma fanfic. The name of my precious Blue
Lightning hath been defiled! A sacrifice must be made!! *grr...*

(lots of wet, drippy sarcasm and plenty of invisible smilies added)

-----

And now, for what you've all been waiting for. The bounty hunts begin.
*grin*

-----

<Saf> Hates: Spiders and Heights

<AlberCrombie> You forgot a hate : stuffed *CUTE* tigers, etc.

	heheheheheh.....

<Saf> Hey, I have no problems with stuffed tigers. Tigers have to eat, you
know ;) I don't even have problems with
stuffed *cute* tigers. But if you
try to call *ME* CUTE, I'll put a bounty
on you myself! Grrr!

Saf
"I am *NOT* CUTE!"

<Isabel> What's so bad about being cute? I'd like to be cute!

<Saf> _Cute_ is for toys and small children. Personally, I'd rather be
	_deadly_! <g>

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"Anime Bounty Huntress - for hire"

<Wing> Hmmm... for hire???

<AlberCrombie> Deadly can be cute. ;]

<Saf> Deadly can, but I'm NOT! :P

<Nabiki> *******Take for instance....AZUZA! (or is that cute being
	deadly?)****** Charolette
forever.......and ever.... and ever......

<Saf> Oh, puh-leeze! Next you'll be comparing me to BARNEY! ARGH!

Saf
"Yum-yum-doodly-dum. hehhehheheh..*<BOOOOOOMMMM>*"
"Poor Barney, may he forever rest in _pieces_!"

<Damon> What a novel idea. All the write elements...

	8^)p

<Aaron> You could always be Cute AND deadly :)

<Saf> I _could_ but I'd rather not. I'd rather just be _deadly_. ;)

<Aaron> Hey, be both, be cute to lure your vic- I mean 'targets' in,
then...let's just say 'time to hose down
the sidewalk' :P

<Wing> Hmmm... Personally, I think cute is cool! Of course, deadly doesn't
	hurt either... ^_^

<Damon> Yep. Witness "Mom and Dad Save the World". Remember the
	critters that looked like smiling
mushrooms floating around in the
	sewers?

	:)

(of course, I would not deign to compare
Saf to a smiling mushroom,
	but you get the point)

<Saf> I'm _sure_ you wouldn't do something like that. But, just in case...

*Saf starts sharpening a little knife to slice Damon into little bits if
he does compare her to a mushroom.

<Damon> There are plenty of other things to compare you to. See below.

Saf
"I LIKE having a bloodthirsty image!"

<Damon> Then you and the Scyth have a lot in common. Take a look at the
	intro chapter for Scyth II.

[can you say...distract and confuse? Neat psychological tactic, ne?
*grin*]

<Roy> Cute is deadly. My girlfriend makes me
listen to the Beatles and
other bad groups that should have died
when they died. And also
annoying singers such as Mariah Carey and
Paul Simon. Heh.

<Wolf> You called the Beatles bad. You die.

<Roy> Heh.

* Bents glad Basile ain't around, that crack about Mariah not nice....:/)

<Aaron> 'Cute' is in the eye of the beholder..you two might not see
yourselves
as 'cute' but it's a fair bet that someone
does. Personally, I think
that ALL females (Rosanne excepted) are
'cute' at least a little bit...and
I've never seen a tiger (especially a blue
bounty hunter tigress :)
or teenage girl who wasn't 'cute'...I
still don't know what everyone
sees in Shampoo and Kodachi tho..they're
just strange...*ducks thrown
	kipple from the Shampoo/Kodachi fans*

That's just my personal opinion of
course..if you disagree, go ahead
and post it to the list :) there's too
little mail the past 24 hours...Spam
is good :) (the 'net version of course,
I'll always think SPAM is what
the government does with all those Alien
bodies they swipe from UFO
	crashes :) {you are strange} [yes I am]
{You're proud of it, aren't
	you?} [yup!] {you're no fun} [right
again!] {feh *stalks off to turture
	some other poor fool*}

<AlberCrombie> She doesn't want to be cute - it spoils her 'she-cat' image.

(She doesn't want people to think of her
as a cuddly, fuzzy, silly
	Mughi - for example)

Actually - she can't help it - cute is the
eye of the beholder. She
sounds cute, so I think she is cute - but
that's how the InterNet works.
	Cool, huh.

This is is going to get me killed. :)

Saph - put the gun down....Saph,
*SAPH*!!!!!
	uh-oh.

<Saf> Darned right it's going to get you killed!

<AlberCrombie> Uh-oh.

<Saf> I hereby proclaim an open season on AlberCrombie. You can bring
him in in any condition as long as he's
alive. _I_ want to be the one
	to kill him! Reward negotiable.

<Wing> ^_^ Auhhhhh..... How cute. The bounty hunter for hire hires others
	to do the hunt.

<Saf> I never said that I wasn't going to hunt for him myself. I just
thought
it'd make it more interesting if
_everyone_ was after him. If he's not
paranoid already, he's definitely going to
be after this. *evil grin*

<AlberCrombie> Awww....she *DOES* care! ;]

<Saf> Of _course_ I care! I care so much that I'm going to have you hunted
all over the internet and when you're
captured, I'm going to kill you
	myself.

<Saf> *Various bounty hunters perk up their ears and start packing their
	weapons for an AlberCrombie hunt*

<AlberCrombie> HEY!HEY!HEY! You in the back - put down the chicken.
If I'm going to be hunted, I would prefer
it to be done with modern
	weapons. Thank you.

<Saf> Modern weapons? How about your death? Shall it be the electric
chair? Or death by biofeedback? How
about being sent into the
	sun? ;)

<Wing> Is AlberCrombie a follower of Chaos? A soldier of Neos Gold or Big
	Gold? *chuckle*

<Saf> You're in for it now, AlberCrombie! <evil laughter resounds across
the
	net>

<AlberCrombie> God, the things I do to get a date......

<Saf> A _date_? A DATE? You insult me and you ask me for a DATE?

* Saf fumes and mutters even more dire threats then has a _wonderful_ idea.
She smiles at Al and calls in a sweet
voice:

<Saf> Al? How about having that date at the Museum of Ancient Inquisitions?
I hear they have some _wonderful_
exhibits of the racks, thumbscrews
and other equipment from the Spanish
Inquisition! ;)

Saf
"Hmm...choices, choices. boiling in oil? drawn and quartered? flayed to
death? shark bait?...."

<David> What about all of the above? *evil grin*

<Saf> Sounds good to me. All of the above plus some.

	*evil laughter*

<Ben Harrison> How about finding his least favorate anime and make him
watch
its entire run, over and over until he
begs you to kill him. Then DON"T DO
	IT!!!

(sx: Evil laugher - track 10)

<Dan> Beheading by multiple paper cuts?

<Wing> *shiver* That's rather painful... *shivers some more*

<Harvey> Please! No need to get bloodthirsty folks. Let us just haul him
down to Jhusenkyo for a rousing game of
'Guess the Tragic Legend!'
	Whadda ya say Blue?

<Saf> Oooh, I LIKE this one :)

<AlberCrombie> Death by chocolate cheese cake is always fun. Friend of
mine
in Iowa swears up and down that one of
these days she'll make me a choc.
cheese cake with cyanide. hey, I'll die
happy!

<Saf> Sorry, but dying happy is _not_ in my plans for you.

<AlberCrombie> BTW - just how much is that reward?!

AlberCrombie - GIH
(Gopher In Hiding)

<Saf> Why do you want to know? You could collect it yourself but I don't
think
you'd be able to spend it. ;)

<WindLily> Well, let's see, I just discovered this nice patch of young
bamboo
beside the pond outside my house. We could
stake him out. Young
bamboo is very sharp and grows at about 4
inches a day. Whatcha'
	think?

<Wolf> You are nasty.

<WindLily> Who, me? Sweet, little ol' innocent me? (blink, blink)

Shannon

(Come on out, Albie! We don't want to hurt you. Much.)

<Saf> Sounds very tortuous... Great idea! And we can pour honey all over
him and invite the fireants. *evil grin*

<WindLily> And I have a recipe for gopher stew. Gotta' get rid of the body
somehow, you know. Though I've never had
BBQ gopher. Hummm...
	choices, choices.

<Saf> I've got a recipe for roast gopher. Let's compare recipes sometime
and we can have a gopher feast when he's
caught. ;)

<Wing> How about death by exposure to Barney? Or worse yet... Bugs and
	Tweety re-runs... *cringes*

<Saf> Hmm... Barney... I LIKE that idea! Oh, wait, no, I can't do that.
Then
_I'll_ have to see Barney too! *cringe* :(
I want to watch him die but I
don't want to die too. *sigh* Any other
ideas?

<Wing> *chuckle*

That's truly an interesting twist. ^_^

Ah! Just strap on a vr-goggle onto his
face (over eyes) and watch
_him_ go down as _he_ watches _him_.

<Saf> Cool! I'll have him staked out on Windlily's bamboo with honey and
fireants all over him and a vr-goggle
strapped over his eyes with
	Barney playing. *evil grin*

<Aaron> Don't forget Yoko Ono songs inbetween Barny Eps...with clips from
	"Three's Company" of course...what am I
SAYING!?!?!?! I'm part of the
'Saf is Cute' campaign too! Move over
'Crombie! I'm a hidin' too! *whips
out giant spatula and a plasma rifle that
makes the BFG-9000 in DOOM
look like a pea-shooter* keep away from
me! I don't know how to use this!
	*accidentally pulls the trigger and
incinerates a large part of Mexico*
	oops...SEE?!?!?! *eye twitch* STAY
AWAY!!!!!!!!! *eye twitch^2*

They're coming to take me away, HA HA!
they're coming to take me
away....if they don't mind being broken
down to their component
molecules *eye twitch* {I'd normaly say
somthing sarcastic and biting here,
but he *really* likes big guns...He want's
his own valkyrie just for the
obscenely huge gun...he might blow me to
bits just to see how big a 'boom'
it makes *cowers behind a very tiny
robotech-ish shield system and prays
it dosen't go 'boom' if Aaron fires* help
me...}

<Saf> AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! Not a campaign! I hate politics! Politicians are
	!@(^%&%$$&*.....

*Saf rants and raves for a few more minutes then calms down enough to post
a
	bounty on Aaron.

<Saf> Watch out, Aaron. Your life is about to drastically shorten. *evil
grin*

Saf
"Shoot^H^H^H^H^H _Fry_ all the politicians!"

Wing [ w:"Aaaggghh!!!" N:"C'mon Wing! _I_ won't bite. ^_^" ]

<Nabiki> Better yet, Akane's cooking!

Bwahahahahahaa! You pitiful fools! I now
control the Earth's supply
of polka-dotted radishes! (I seem to be in
a "weirder-than-usual" mood
	today....) Too many Marsmallow coconut
sugar bagels with whipped
	cream? Nah. ALL HAIL NABIKI!

[Hey...that's supposed to be "Marshmallow Coconut Frosted Sugar Bagels
with Whipped Cream... 8) ]

<Wing> Er... Nabiki-san,

I'm just curious, but what do Marshmellow
coconut sugar bagels with
whipped cream have to do with anything?

I.. [ Nagisa decides at this point to
interrupt me with a "distraction",
	which involved whispering something to
me... ]

Nagisa: Hi! Sorry, but Wing's... er...
he's a little pre-occupied now,
I didn't understand the bit about the
babel thing... oh well,
I hope you are in a more "normal" mood
sooner or late...
	   AAAGGHH!!

[ Managing to regain my composure and
tickling Nagisa into returning
control of my computer, I found she has
already sent the mail... ]

* Bentley eeps at Sapp's posting about Al. "I tinks she serious,
	better enter the witness relocation
program or something like that."

<Saf> Hah! There is NO place where that gopher can hide from ME!

* Bentley hrmms. "How bout Simpsons/Ranma cross over! Now that's
	something I could crank out...possibly.
Someone who would actually
	like Akane cooking!" Hehs....

	(Predator Music starts up.....)

I tink Al you better act like Tom Viel and
vanish.. ;)

<Saf> Who's Tom Viel?

*Bentley thuds head on computer desk

<Bentley> Nowhere Man's main protagonist, cross between the fugitive and
the prisoner. It's on UPN United Paramount
Network. Show is
awesome. Pure and simple. About a guy who
takes a pic and big bro
wants it back so they erase his life.

<Bentley> psst Sapp, how much is the reward? >)
	    Appearing Soon!
	    AC in the Fugitive 2!

<Saf> How much? Weeell, how about a prepaid Anime Express Card (Never
leave home without it)? ;) We can discuss
credit limits after he's
	caught.

<Damon> You know, you make it sound soo tempting to actually *agree* with
	'Crombie.

	8^)

<Saf> Tempting, huh? Which method would YOU prefer to die by? ;)

<AlberCrombie> Uh-oh. At this rate there may be a decrease in population
soon.

<Damon> I just wanted to see how she'd respond. I'm a psychologist at
heart,
whether I want to be or not. Is this a
good thing? I don't know. You
	tell me. ;)

<Damon> What method? Lessee...choices, choices...

	Hrmmm...thinking...

You know, natural causes sounds the best
to me. 8^)

<James> You mean being attacked by a ravening tigress is _not_ natural?

<Damon> Do things like that happen every day? My first guess would be,
not.
	:)

<Damon> "Do you want to live forever?" - Highlander (I think; haven't
	watched it in ages)

<James> Or most cliched war movies.

<DarkWind> Yeah they have a tendancy to have corny phrases like that in
them
	too...

<Damon> Highlander is more appropriate in this case. It's one of Steve's
	favorites. ;)

<DarkWind> Hmmm - well the quote from Highlander *should* be "Who wants
to live forever?", and I think that this
is much more approiate in this
	case..

I mean you guys started this by calling
her cute, she threatened you
with grievous bodily harm and you
continued to keep it up *sigh* I hope
she never finds out where you live :)

<Damon> I'm not sure I'd mind all that much. I'd get to find out if she
*is* cute
	or not. :)

<DarkWind> Hmmm - yes well I guess that might be some kind of
	encouragement :)

<Damon> That, and I've never met a net.personality. (that is, someone I've
met
	over the net) Intriguing possibilities
present themselves.

<DarkWind> Well I suppose that 'violent tendencies' do count as a
	personality....

<Damon> More than that. Didn't you read the bio she posted? That's what
	started all of this.

<DarkWind> Hmmm - I'll have to take another look - maybe I've found a soul-
mate for my little sister :)

<Aaron> I thought this was started way back when shee told us to never
*ever* call her 'saphy' *has flashes of
Kei and Yuri after someone
calls then the Dirty Pair* ......my life
just flashed before my eyes....

<Damon> Um, before that. Like, what's the title of this thread? :)

[note: at the time, the title was "bios?!"]

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------

<Damon> Like your .sig. Big fan of Q myself.

	(no Sesame Street jokes, now!)

<Saf> Oh, really? You wouldn't find out if I caught you from behind,
blindfolded you, and made you walk into a
busy intersection. *grin*

<Damon> Only one problem with that. I took up practicing Tae Kwon Do for a
little while with Steve. Some of his
jumpiness rubbed off on me. I don't
	*get* surprised from behind. Ever.

<Damon> But enough rambling. I have a story to post.

<Saf> *sigh* I still have to finish writing mine, much less posting it. :(
Ah, well. Back to the old keyboard.

<Damon> Good luck. What is it, BTW?

[note: I have, at present, met two net personalities. One is on this
list. Nabiki.
The other is not. "Ranma-IM", Eric Grief. And for those of you who have
been
keeping up on these things, I will be meeting Saf this June. *smile* And
that's
not a bad thing, either! She knows where I live, and there are no longer
any
threats of hell and bloody mayhem being bandied about. In fact...well, I
won't
spoil it. I'll let my story speak for itself. *smile*]

<Saf> "Bubblegum Warners" and "Nabiki and the Airship". Hopefully, I'll
get
	_something_ done this weekend.

Sapphire, The lazy Blue Tigress

<Bentley> Excerpt from The Hunt for AlberCrombie

vvvvv

    .beep...
    .beep....beeeep....

    "Movement..."
Bentley looked over his shoulder, motion tracker in one hand,
sidearm in the other. "Where?" He asked.
King latched the safety down to fire on his rifle, the motion
tracker attached to said hip mounted rifle blinked and beeped. He
slowly turned on his heel and went down to one knee. The rifle attached
to his right hip unlocked from it's housing and allowed for more free
movement. His dark eyes only left the tracker for one moment, to look
down the narrow dark hallway they had just transgressed. "Behind us,
can't get an acurate fix."
Bentley turned on the light that dangled from his belt and pointed
it down the open hallway. The light passed over the ransacked hallway
of the underground bunker. Doors that lined the walls were smashed in,
wall panels pulled back and giant holes in the floor. He adjusted the
comm set that adorned the left side of his head and slid the mic down
to his mouth. "Anyone else got anything?" He asked in the mic.
    "Zippo," RR replied. "Damon?"
"Nada, Steve's checking the armory, we don't need this one stinkin
gopher, we got enough money for all."
    ...beeeep.....beeeeppp.....bbbeeeeeppp....
"I'll take that under advisment," Sapphire's voice retorted. "He
called me _cute_, he's mine!"
King blinked and looked the hallway. The rifle's HUD appeared in
front of his eyes, giving them a white glow. The HUD from the rifle
gave him was all he needed. "Tell her to get down here then, solid
movement. 20 meters, heading straight up."
"O.k, listen up every one." Bentley waited for silence. "If anyone
would like a piece of this gopher get down to deck 30. Gopher Huntin
ho."
    "YESSS!"
They all crindged at the volume of Sapphire's voice and turned down
their volumes down.
"I hate this job," Bentley muttered and slammed stun rounds into
his sidearm.
King chuckled. "Oh an easy hop and catch he says, ha."

    Fin

Now back to the Beginning part 3ish....

    Bents

<Saf> Nice one, Bents :)

Waiting for his cut of the money... :)

<Saf> Don't worry. You'll get it :)

^^^^^

<Damon> You know, some would be of the opinion that these kinds of antics
qualify you as one of the more endearing
species roaming the net.

I, of course, would *not* be one of those
someones. ;) (although I
	still enjoy the psychological challenge
}8^)

	But Steve probably would. Heh.

<Wing> Hello. ^_^

	Personally, after reading the various
posts about Saf hunting,
torturing, etc., I really wouldn't want to
run into Saf in a dark
	alley... -_-

<Saf> Awww, come on, don't be a coward. Join in the fun! I won't hurt
	you...much. ;)

<Wing> Er... there's a difference between cowardice and rational thinking.
	Isn't that right Nagisa?

Nagisa: " Hmmm? *smiles as she walks out
of the room* Coward!
	Baka! ^_^"

Oh..Kay... Well, I still hold my ground
on my opinion.

<Wing> But hey, who am I to say. Maybe most of those being hunted
are right and Saf deserves to have the
word cute plastered all
	over...

	"Nagisa, whaddya think?"

N: "Hmmm... let Saf torture them!! ^_^;;"

	*groan*

Oh well, guess ya can't win em all...

  Wing.

  -Seeker of Nagisa.

* Saf highfives Nagisa.

<Wing> [Coming back into the room]
Nagisa: "Alright! See Wing! I'm not the
only one who has an open
	mind!"

	Me: *groan*

<Saf> Sounds like Wing should join AlberCrombie. Nagisa, want to help
	me? ;)

<Wing> Nagisa: "Kewl! Sounds like fun, but I'm already having fun with
Wing.
Isn't that right Wing?" [tickling Wing
until he's off the chair and on
the ground begging with tears in his eyes]

	Wing <silently: Help!!>
	Nagisa <silently: tickle tickle tickle...
^_^>

<AlberCrombie> <*WHEEE-WOOO*> (bad whistle)

	Nagisa!

Nagisa : [looks up, stops tickling Wing]
Huh?

	(*SPLAT!*) [Nagisa finds herself covered
in custard creme
	pie]

	Nagisa : AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!

	Wing : heh.

	Wing....

	Wing : yah?

	Nagisa : AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

	Run.

Wing : [looking at Nagisa, then back to
The Gopher] Right!

	Nagisa : GRRRRRR!!!!!!

[The Gopher disappears down a hole]

heheheheh
AlberCrombie

<Wing> [while running, looks back] I'm gonna get ya Gopher!!! [slips
	and falls.]

Nagisa : Aha!! Gotcha!!! [leaps and lands
full body on Wing.]

Wing : [squirms a bit and twists around to
face Nagisa] You!....
	I..

Nagisa : [having been giggling before, now
quiet as her eyes lock
	with Wing's.] oh...

[both blushing a bit, Nagisa instinctively
leaning forward and Wing
	pulling himself up towards her...
*ffzzffzzzzzzzzttttttxxxxxxx*]

NO CARRIER

[note: reference to "The More Things Change" below]

<AlberCrombie> (I'd give it the Gopher Seal of Approvial - but that means
Saph might spot me - I'll give it to ya
later!)

AlberCrombie (Gopher in Hiding)

<Saf> <Now where is that gopher? I thought I saw him around here a
	second ago.>

*Saf prowls around a bit more then goes off to search elsewhere.

Saf
"I'll find you yet, AlberCrombie! ;) "

<AlberCrombie> [quickly looking around nervously]
	BTW...have you seen the
Tigerbi.......er....Tigress around lately?
Been kinda quiet - no big explosions, no
poison darts flying. ;)

<Saf> Ah hah! I've found you!

*Saf throws her net over AlberCrombie but he quickly burrows
	underground and away.

<Saf> Drat! I forgot that gophers can go underground. I'LL GET YOU
	YET, ALBERCROMBIE!!!

I hate it when I get those. It usually means less free time.

But anyway, the traffic on this list has started to look a lot like an
RPG session. Would anyone be interested in an email RPG, set in an
anime universe? I dunno if I'd have the time to GM one, but it's a
thought anyway.

I read this. Then I looked at the above. Hmmm... 8)

What did you guys (and gals!) think of the theme music for Blue Lightning?
Appropriate? No? Good? Bad? Depressing?

Say something. The silence is deafening.

* Maison Ikkoku * Kyoko Otonashi * Video Girl Ai * Amano Ai *
               * Blue Lightning * Kerin Gray *
                   Blue Lightning forever!!

<Saf> I would say something but I'm having a little trouble trying to get
	the program to work. *sigh*

I'll tell you what I think of it whenever
I get it working.

<Damon> What's the problem, specifically? Mod4Win never gave me any
trouble. Could be that the version you
have is more unstable than
	2.12 was. (that's the version I have)

<Damon> Amazing. The quantity of sleep I managed last night has done
wonders for my lucidity and sanity. I no
longer feel like baiting Saf any
	more. 8^)

* Saf hands Damon a teddy bear to keep him company at night.

<Saf> Sweet nightmares, Damon. ;)

<Damon> I doubt that teddy's an Auton, so I'm not overly worried.

<Saf> What's an 'Auton'?

<Damon> Ah! You haven't been initiated to the joys of Doctor Who! Now I
	get to convert you.

Heathen! Bow before the grandeur of the
almighty Doctor Who!! :)

PS It's a British SciFi show with bad
special effects but mostly
decent stories. If you're interested, we
could tape trade.

<Tempest> The Auton was a receptical (plastic replicas of human beings) for
the
alien intelligence the 'Nestene' who were
naturally enough planning to take
over the world - Isn't this a compulsory
full time occupation for aliens ?

If I remember correctly the hand/wrist
used to hinge open to reveal a
very unfriendly gun and the facial
features became like a plastic face
	mask.

The Autons first apeared in "Spearhead
from Space" the first colour
episode with Jon Pertwee as The Doctor in
the British TV sci-fi series Dr
	Who.

	Spearhead from Space - 3 Jan 1970 to 24
Jan 1970
Terror of the Autons - 2 Jan 1971 to 23
Jan 1971

The special effects look terrible compared
to today but for their time they
weren't bad (shaky sets discounted) and
the stories were generally well
	planned.

Dr Who ran from 1963 to 1990?
I'm not certain when the final end came,
as by then I'd stopped watching.

Corrections are welcome; as the last time
I saw any of this was the
original air dates and my RAM chips are
faulty. :)

Anyone want to add anything else ?

[note: In "Terror of the Autons", one of them looked like an ugly plastic
teddy]

<Damon> I usually listen to "In My Dreams" and "Starshine" before I go to
sleep. (the Blue Lightning theme music)
Haven't had a nightmare in
ages. Last dream that even came close, I
mucked around with and
	cranked out "Scyth".

<Wing> I got the music to work. It sounded great! Hmmm... did I say that
	already before? Oh well,...

It actually gives one the sense that
something great will be happening,
like the slow pan of a rather massive and
slim spaceship... ah....

<Damon> Take a *close* look at the very end of volume 1, "The Long
Goodbye".
It's the ninth part, the one before the
last one.

Blue Lightning is *not* slim. It's an
oblate spheroid. A squashed sphere.

But thanks for the comment. :)

<Wing> Hmmm... ^_^ I'm... er... speachless... Nagisa?

Nagisa: " Eh? Nani? Oh!! KAWAII!!! I
want one!! ^_^"

	*sigh*

<Damon> So does everybody on the block. Save John F. Kennedy. Kill Rush
Limbaugh before he becomes a talk show
host. Yeah, I know. Time
	travel is cool, but...

<Wing> Ok, I guess it's not quite the ship I thought it was...

<Damon> The Seeker is. That's Nena's ship. :)

C'mon, I had a low budget, and the CIA
after me. You expected me to
come up with something functional *and*
good looking?

<Wing> Er, Nagisa? Why don't you ever say anything nice about _my_
	drawings!!

Nagisa: " Those were yours? heh.. I
thought it was just your kid
	brother's scribblings... *shrug* maybe you
should take some
	classes. ^_^ "

	Why me...

Because you happen to enjoy writing
dialogue to and for yourself.
But that's beside the point. :)

<Wing> Other than that, I thought that the melody was rather awe-inspiring.

<Damon> This is "Starshine"? The music for volume 3?

<Wing> Hmmm? Isn't it? ?_?

<Damon> There are two songs. "In My Dreams" was the theme music for
volume 1. It got posted, I think. It's
on ftp.cdrom.com in the same place
	as Starshine.
/pub/demos/music/songs/s3m/i/inmydrms.zip. I think. Oh,
if you're interested in comparing it to
the original, take a listen to
"In The Mist". inthmist.zip, I think.

<Damon> You know, you seem to have a tendency to get wrapped up in your
	stories.

<Wing> Wrapped up!!?? Me!!?? [Wing looks over at Nagisa who is "wrapped
around" his waist, fast asleep.] Er...
ok, guess I do get "wrapped" up
	in my stories.

<Damon> Well, it's infectious. Me with Blue Lightning, for example. :)

<Wing> I'll bet it's kinda hard to get wrapped up by that ship... ^_^

<Damon> Wrapped up *by*? No, it's quite easy. All I have to do is break
	the computer controlling the artificial
gravity, and turn on the jump
drive. Plip. The ship sucks itself into
a black hole. And I get *wrapped
up* by the ship. But I wouldn't want to
do that.

Wing. [ Still looking down at Nagisa... kawaii-ko.. ne? ]

<Damon> Dunno. You said, the Iczer universe? Hm. If she wasn't in Iczer
1,
then I wouldn't have seen her. By your
description, not sure I'd want to.
I'd like to survive the meeting, thanks.
:)

[note: at present, I'm very wrapped up in a real life story. But the tale
shall
have to be put on hold until June. Perhaps I will become wrapped up in
that
story. Only time shall tell... *smile*]

<Aaron> If I remember what I read about Iczelion correctly, this Nagisa
wanted
	to be a pro women's wrestler..the Nagisa
from Iczer-1 was as ditzy
as Usagi and C-ko...and about as dense if
I recall correctly (I saw
the sub *shudder* don't hurt me if I'm
wrong please!)

<Jeff Rutsch> I'm missing out on something. Music? Where? Huh? Use
simple words and concepts so I understand.

<Damon> A while back, I posted that I'd found some .S3M's on the net.
Computer music. I'd mucked around with
one of them, changing it a little
bit, and come up with two songs that I
thought sounded appropriate as
theme music for the first and third
volumes of Blue Lightning.

	Interested?

	Read Blue Lightning yet?

<Aaron> No Sound Card, only 2 megs of RAM (Can't open a large text file in
windows without having a 4 meg swap file)
No space to put windows on
(124 hdd and less than a meg left...I need
money and disks...maybe
one of those nice optical storage
thingies...I could stick all my anime
crud on one and save over a hundred
floppies from an early grave)

<Damon> Aww... If you're desperate, I guess I could tape them and
snailmail
	'em to you...

<Aaron> This's why *I* haven't replied about it (till now :)

My other Computer is a Super Nintendo..

<Damon> My *only* computer is an Amiga 500. My roommate is the one with
	the DX4-100.

	Maybe next semester... *sigh*

[Note: it didn't happen then. And now, that's my *former* roommate. So
I'm
stuck with the Pentium 120's on campus at Carnegie Mellon U... 8) ]

Subject: Did everybody just fall asleep?

I haven't gotten anything from the mailing list in four minutes! It was
every fifteen seconds before!

What gives?

:)

<Saf> Some of us have a RL, much as we hate to admit it sometimes. On
the other hand, RL is _much_ better for
some things. ;)

<Damon> Saf, just what would that be, exactly? I haven't found anything
	yet...

	;^)

[note: We've decided that we'll find out, at least a little bit, just what
real
life *is* better for, in June. Perhaps those hugs I've seen over the FFML,
and over IRC, might take on a little more substance than just characters
on a screen...]

<Saf> Physical contact, for one.
I can't exactly hit you over the internet
except like this: "Damon no
	baka!" *BONK* :P :P :P

<Damon> Yes, but that's good for *you*, not *me*.

I don't know. Knowing what you look like
might be cool.

<Saf> Sorry. You'll have to use your imagination cuz I ain't tellin'.
	So there! :P

[She lied. She did tell. And I'm grateful. *smile*]

<Damon> Awww....

Your net.personality 'sounds' like a cross
between Kerin and
Chris. (in Blue Lightning) So do you
mind me having the
wrong idea? (if it *is* the wrong idea!!
:)

Oh, that's right. I never did describe
Kerin, did I?

Kerin: 5'6", 140 lbs, long, mousey brown
hair, eyes hazel/gray.
	    Fine featured. Gregarious
personality, very personable. But
	    don't get her angry.

Chris: 5'11", 175 lbs. (? not sure about
that figure; need to check)
Blond. Looks a lot like Priss (now
that I think about it) with
shorter (blond) hair, and no hardsuit.
Very acidic personality,
troubled past. I mentioned once to
somebody that she was like
	    a "hardware" babe without the
hardware.

<Saf> Go ahead and have the wrong idea. Most people do anyway, even if
	they _have_ met me. ;)

<Damon> YEAH!! Psychology is wonderful, ain't it? Heheheh. 8)

Subject: Blake's 7

Wonder of wonders. I just got into a Blake's 7 email RPG, playing the
character of Avon.

I think I can really throw myself into the character here.

You know, maybe I should work on that Blake's 7 fanfic I threatened
to post to the ML. *GriN*

<Omega> I dare ya! Go ahead! I'll even *read* it, so there!!! :)

<Damon> It's got about two and a half pages of text done right now, so it's
kinda going nowhere until I get more free
time. Maybe during
Thanksgiving Break I'll plink away at it.

Okay, who here has been so deprived as to have not seen Blake's 7?
8^)

<Isabel> I've only heard of it a couple of times. What's it about?

<Damon> If you've ever seen Doctor Who, you have an inkling of the special
	effects quality.

Setting: a future in which Earth and
several other worlds are ruled by
	    an overweening Federation. Blake was
part of the resistance
	    movement,
but was captured. They couldn't kill
him, because he would become
a martyr and a rallying cause. So
they mindwiped him, made him
	    "confess", ("I was misguided", etc.),
then mindwiped that.

The first story opens with Blake finding
just a *little* of this out. As
the series progresses, he finds a ship
(called the Liberator) and a crew,
and goes voyaging throughout the galaxy,
fighting for freedom.

It's very well done. The plots and the
acting get better and better. Avon,
the computer genius, is a very dark
character that takes over the lead
when Blake disappears midway through the
series. And the series went
on under the same name, doing a "Doctor
Who" almost.

If you're interested, I can dub a tape of
the first seven episodes,
(they're 50 minutes long each) and
snailmail it to you.

It's not anime, no. But it might just as
well have been, for the storyline
and the quality of the work.

<Omega> I've seen a few episodes, but Dr. Who is much better (even if
Terry Nation was involved with both). ;-)

<Damon> It gets better and better. I stuck with it through the first
season,
and I was glad I did. The
characterization they put into it really
made it worthwhile. IMHO, this is as good
as Doctor Who gets. And
I've seen a lot of Doctor Who. Of course,
there's much more Doctor
	Who out there, so...

<Omega> If I can ever get the damn series, I would watch it (not buying
videos! Uh-uh! No way!) since I'm willing
to give it a fair shake.

<Damon> What, Blake's 7? Assuming you'd eventually buy it, I'm willing to
snailmail a tape or two of episodes to
you. (in return for shipping and
tape costs, about $10 for three tapes)

<Omega> Some aspects intrigue me: Blake dies before the series end, and
a few things about the last season when
everybody dies! :) :)

<Damon> Hey, don't spoil it for everyone! And IMO, not everybody died.
And
since my fanfic will be a "Post Gauda
Prime" story, (after the last episode
for all you non-Blake's 7 people out
there) you'll find out exactly what my
opinion of what DID happen, is.

<Damon> Interesting .sig. Still remember "The Arc of Infinity".

<Omega> I much prefer the Omega of the Three Doctors. Lift off my mask
and you'll see that there is nothing
there. Nothing at all.

<Damon> I vaguely remember it, but I don't have a copy. I'd like to get
one,
though. Maybe we could tape trade?
Blake's 7 for Doctor Who? That
is, if you have two VCR's...
(pleasepleaseplease let it be true! ;)

<Damon>

* Maison Ikkoku * Kyoko Otonashi * Video Girl Ai * Amano Ai *
  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ * Blue Lightning * Kerin Gray *
                    Blue Lightning forever!!

<Omega> But then, nowadays I think MI is greatest TV series in the
world!!!!

<Damon> Then wait until Blue Lightning hits the scene. 8^)

But I agree. Maison Ikkoku is very down-
to-earth, realistic, and hits
quite close to home for a lot of people.
Which is what makes it so
	popular.

<Aaron> *raises hand*

*Saf waves her hand in the air.

<Saf> Me! I haven't seen it either.

<AlberCrombie> ME!!! Oo! Oo! Me! (but then I've been in hiding)

<Damon> Care to rectify that situation?

<AlberCrombie> If you're talking about B7 - I got plenty of time before I
	die :)

<Damon> Tape trade, then?

<AlberCrombie> If you're talking about the hiding...that will be fixed soon
	enough......

	 ;]

<Damon> Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. Unless you've made up with Saf,
	that is. That'd be great!

AlberCrombie> HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!! AAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
	*snort*

<Damon> C'mon, it wasn't that funny. Besides, she's a cool net.personality
to hang out with. (I think)

	:)

<Saf> You THINK??? Of course, I'm cool to hang out with. ;)

<Damon> Hey, great!

<AlberCrombie> Don't you know maniacal laughter when you hear it?!

<Damon> No. Should I? I mean, if I think Saf is safe to hang out with,
	should I?

	};^)

<Saf> :P :P :P :P :P This is maniacal laughter:
	HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHEEHEEHEEHEE!!!!

*wondering if she's been insulted or
not... me SAFE?* ;)

<Damon> That's what I meant, baka!! *bonk!!* Heh. :)

<Jeanne> A great show! Probably one of the few in history to survive the
loss of the title character (and not
change the title afterword).

Avon is a scary, but I wouldn't want to
get Jenna or Soolin *really*
peeved at me. I might not wake up <g>

<Damon> I'm not worried. On the show, it was clear they needed Avon,
whether they liked him or not. He knew
that, and used it to his
	advantage plenty.

So unless my RPG compatriots decide to do
something out of
	character, I'm safe. :)

-----

And...did Saf ever become agreeable? *slow, spreading smile*

-----

<Saf> "I LIKE having a bloodthirsty image!"

<Aaron> Who here agrees with me that Saf needs a guy? if she
really feels this way she's gonna be
mighty lonely..'less she
finds someone who's been a Very Bad Boy
and needs to be
	Punished :P

<Saf> NOT ME! Besides, I said 'bloodthirsty image' not '_being_
	bloodthirsty'!

<Damon> I wouldn't presume to voice opinions on what Saf needs.
Besides, she might stop critiquing my
stories. :^)

<Aaron> "Saf? I'd like you to meet Hobbes, Hobbes, meet Saf"

*Hobbes runs off screaming, yelling that
Calvin is safer than
	Saf*

<Aaron> "Well *I* thought it was a good idea..."

<Saf> Bad idea, _very_ bad idea, Aaron.

* Saf pulls out her dart gun and shoot Aaron...several times.

<Saf> Nighty-night, Aaron. You're lucky that those were just sleeping
	darts. :P

Saf
"NEVER insult a tiger!"

<Damon> As I said. 8)

If *you* think Saf needs a guy, then try
being friends with her
and see what happens. I don't know if
you'll get very far... ;-)
...but you can if you want to.

Me, I'll introduce her to Steve and leave
it at that. (if I get the
chance, that is) Not sure she's my type,
but she's most definitely
	Steve's.

Then again, I don't know what my type is,
come to think of it. No
present GF. No past GF. I'm GFless, I
guess. Oh well.

<Saf> _I_ wouldn't say that I'm his type. I think you're mixing up my
net.personality with my RL one. And,
Damon, don't try to matchmake
for me. I get enough of that already.
*sigh*

<Damon> Oh, so you mean you're not so bloodthirsty in RL? Kewl!!

<Saf> No, I'm not _that_ bloodthirsty. *Laughter rings out in the room*
HEY, QUIT LAUGHING BACK THERE OR I'LL HIDE
YOUR CAR
KEYS!!! See, I didn't threaten them with
any bodily harm at all. ;)

<Damon> Oh. Steve is about that annoying, so I get the picture. :)
	(did you get that?)

[note: Both of us did. And according to each other...both of us
are...well...
heh. You get the picture. *smile*]

<Damon> *thinks to himself* (that means maybe I have a chance after all!
	Naaah... ;)

Saf
"No, I do _not_ want to go out with him and that's _final_!"

<Damon> Hey, whatever. I said I'd introduce you, nothing else.

[Quick note: she did finally decide to "go out" with someone, though.
I'll
let her tell that tale. *happy smile*]

<Saf> It wasn't exactly directed towards you. That's a perfected
response to matchmaking by relatives who
usually don't take 'no'
for an answer the first hundred or so
times, if you see what I mean.

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"Relatives... *sigh*"

<Damon> Heh. How...amusing. My bro keeps wanting to find me a GF
	for some strange reason. :)

-----

The Beginning...of the end. 8)

-----

<SkyKnight> Heh...cute with the 'did someone call you cute?' remark.

<SkyKnight> Blue furred aliens...cute. (*slaps on his hardsuit and gets
	ready for reprisals*) ;)

Bentley turned towards a growling Huntsman and pointed at
Skyknight. "Sic'em!"

The Huntsman roared and dove towards Sky....

Bents shakes his head. "Can see it now, The hunt for SkyKnight 2."
;)

<Saf> Hey, thanks Bents! I've sort of got my hands full with my other
	hunts. ;)

Well since Sapphire is as of right now a main character, WW is
sorta supporting...(you'll be turning up laters). Anyone else want to
join in? Bad guy, good guy, whoever.

Anyone else on C+C on the other stuff? Beginning, Flight. I am
going over the prologue switching from present to past...jeez too many
mistooks...

What is in the box given to Sapphire by the mysterious person?
Will Sappy make it to Earth in one piece? (You called her
Sappy...deep @#$%! Aiee!)

<Saf> "Sappy?" "SAPPY?!?" *sigh* I've already given up on 'Sapphy' or
even 'Saffy'... Call me whatever you want
to. Just don't call me
	CUTE. GRRRR!

Sapphire, Saf, Sapphy, Saffy, Sappy, whatever, just not CUTE
*thinks she's getting to be too much of a softie*

<JohnD, the Elder> Star, (As in Star Sapphire)

How about "Kawaii"? Is that also a
negative? Couldn't resist.
	^_^

Due to eye surgery I have been lurking for
so long... Not
anymore, now I can get into trouble like
the rest of you!

	Gomen nasai, Sapphire-chan

	Konban wa

ps One more time... My 13 year old son
posts as "johnd (The
Younger) hence my handle. Sure as hell
isn't wisdom! Age...
probably oldest on ML by a damn good
margin (sigh).

* Saf borrows Ukyou's spatula and WHAMS johnd!

Don't call me CUTE in ANY language!

Saf
"I am *NOT* CUTE!"

<Bruce> I don't know, never came after me, she must like "young" meat
and I'm too over the hill for her.

<Saf> I never came after you because you were too mature to make the
same mistake some of these 'youngsters'
made. But, if you want to
be hunted... HEY, EVERYONE, THERE'S NOW A
BOUNTY ON
	BRUCE! ;)

    And will she get caught?
Find out, same ml channel, same ml time!
    (cue hookey music)

    Bents
"How much for the little girl? Your wife?"
"We're on a misson from God."

-----

* Damon tries his best to sound auspicious.

"At precisely post number 3188...."

* Damon looks at the expectant crowd.

"Foxx joined the FFML."

-----

<Foxx> I don't remember subscribing to this mailing list....
But, the people here are more..
interesting than the inferiors on the
	"Shampoo warship" mailing list...

<Wolf> My fault. I run the Shampoo List & this one, and I accidently put
you
	on this one.

<Bentley> Bentley bangs head on desk. "Not more Ranma...make it stop!
	When does the hurting stop!"

Shampoo Warship ML, I can see that, I
really can....;)

Mr interesting Bents

"Mulder! Mulder!"
"What is it Scully?"
"Fox! I believe! I believe!"
(cue alien)
-Eek the Cat

<Foxx> Tis sad, I know...

* Foxx folds his arms and leans against the wall...

<Foxx> But...

* Foxx suddenly grins...

<Foxx> Feel free to use P-Chan here as a football!!!

<Bentley punts the little black fuzzy lump
into the sky as Akane
	viciously assails Foxx.....>

<Bentley> ROTFL!!!!!!

I like the idea of volley ball more...no?

<Foxx> Hmmm.... Akane would've still viciously assailed me though.....
	Fortunately...

* Foxx holds up a bra...

<Foxx> I can sell this to Happosai...

* Foxx laughs much like Kodachi...

<Foxx> What does "ROTFL" mean?

<DaR> Rolling on the floor, Laughing.

<Foxx> When will people learn that the entire Kunou clan will rule all
	someday?

<Wolf> Dream on. ^_^

<Foxx> HEY! This is a fanfiction mailing list! So....
	Could I put my Bravo!/Ranma 1/2/Sailor
Moon crossover here?

<Wolf> Of course!!!

[note: this was regarding a fanfic called "Autumn"]

<WindLily> *happy sigh*

Liked it. Good stuff. And they call me a
Romantic.

<Foxx> Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your fanfic!
Although I think that love is for the weak
and foolish, I still have
enjoyed all of the other seasons you
wrote....

<Andrew> Love is for those lucky to find it, strong enough to hold it.

[I wonder why I bothered including *that*... *smile*]

<Jeanne> If you want a real, straightforward definition of "Spamming":
Spam (in 'net-speak) is electronic junk
mail. Spamming is sending
	lots of electronic junk-mail.

<Wolf> What we have here, is a failure... <ahem> Sorry. Technically, we
	have a noise problem.

Dumm, dumm de dumm... The posting stats finally got posted. Well...they
did prove useful. I got on Saf's good side, in a *very* roundabout sort of

I can't wait to hear what he's going to
say to that. ^_^

<Dodekain> Well, maybe that is going abit too far, but like I said I can
dream can't I. Oh, well, life goes on.
As far as being a little pest,
come on get real. He should win the Pest
of the Year award hands
down. Hes got my vote. he he ^_^

<Bruce> #9? I'm slipping. :(

<Wolf> Slipping? Look at the competition!!! Master Spammers all. You
should be proud to be in the top ten!

<Bruce> PS. Where's the 'R.' ?
	V
Bruce R. Brunk brbrunk@agora.rdrop.com

<Wolf> I dunno. It wasn't in the address I guess.

<Bruce> Just struck me Wolf, this could be a very _Bad_ idea. What we
have here maybe the spamyist ML on the
net. Nothing wrong with
	that at all.

<Charles> It the spamyist ML on the net because we have a lot of very
opiniated people here. Like me :)

<Bruce> But with posting a stats list? You're throwing gas on a fire here.

<Wolf> I wanted to know for sure I was top poster, and I wanted everyone
else to know too. (Big ego? Me?? No
way!)

<Bruce> People could start sending stuff through the list what they would
have sent e-mail normal, just to boost
their rating. :)

<Charles> Uh-huh, I totally agree with you :)

<Wolf> That better not happen.

did, and 1/3 of what I did. (And if you
spam like me... well just
	don't, 'k?)

<Damon> We shall bow to your superior numbers.

<Charles> Well, he was spaming a lot in the beinging of Oct. He must
of got tired of doing it though. And I was
just kiding of trying to

* Foxx wanders into the room...

<Foxx> Where am I? And what is this?
	What is this? A competition?

*Foxx wanders out of the room...

<Foxx> Odd... They never did that sort of thing in the Dr. Tofu militia....

<Dodekain> Who the heck are you anyway??? ^_^

<Wolf> Dode, meet the mad spammer of the Shampoo list. He got
subbed on here by my mistake, and stayed
by his choice.

* Foxx bows deeply...

<Foxx> I am known as Foxx...
I am the embodiment of all the thoughts
you wish you never
	   thought...
I am the voice of all things you wish
you've never said....
I do things no one dares do...
And tread where no dare tread....

	It's quite a lucrative buisiness....

	And who might you be?

<Dodekain> Me, Me, you want to know who I am? Well, Foxx (if that is your
real name), I am a loyal and devote
follower of the ALL Mighty, ALL
Supreme Goddess Kodachi. Those who do not
follow her will be
	sorely punished.

<Charles> Hmmm I wonder how many people are going to reply to
	this thread?

<Wolf> Too many. ^_^

* Foxx nukes the rest of the message, along with the sig...

<Foxx> I still don't get the "Spammer" bit....

<Wolf> I'm a baka, you're a baka, wouldn't you like to be a baka too?

Drink Baka Pepper. It's the spammiest!

<Jeff> I wonder how many people y'all have chased off the ML with the
reams upon reams of useless mail, none of
which relates to
fanfiction. If you guys want to talk back
and forth at each other, why
	don't you go to IRC?

Out of the last 200 messages, less than
10% have actually had
	anything to do with fanfiction--either
stories or commentary. Go ahead
and call me "fascist net.pig" if you want,
but you've probably had people
unsubscribe due to noise levels and/or
full mail spools.

Please, please, PLEASE keep the straight-
up noise down, and go back
	to commenting on stories....

	*sigh*

<Dodekain> Hey, We the Spammers of the Fanfic ML have the right to spam as
much as we want to and besides the Master
Spammer runs the ML
	anyway!!! ^_^

<Wolf> Dode, quit it. You're overdoing it, and not saying anything of
value.

<Damon> Hey, that's true. Spam is priceless. Spam is...

<Damon> Not logical!

"Logic is a bird, tweeting in a meadow.
Logic is a wreath of pretty
	flowers...which smell bad."

"Are you sure your circuits are
registering correctly? Your ears are
	green."

	        --Spock

<Damon> Umm...did that come out right?

	;)

<Jeanne> Spam may be priceless, but I just got over 300 messages in the
last 12 hours and I'd guess 2/3 of them
were some of this 'priceless
spam' from the FF ML. :p

<Damon> Um. Oh, I remember the right word! Worthless, that's it!

	Heh. :)

<Jeff> ...no, I'm NOT going to join the spam.

Ever since the posting stats were
uploaded, this list has become a
"belt-size wars" issue (you know, who's
got the biggest...?). Since I
really don't want to wade through 200
messages a day to get the
	handful worth reading, I'm unsubscribing.
I don't really feel petulant
about it, just very, very tired.

So, sorry, folks. Isabel, keep writing,
you've got a great style and
potential. Brett, your OMGod is fun to
read, even if I don't like
	author-as-character fanfics as a rule.
See some of you on r.a.a.s.

--Angst-sensei
(Thinks there should be a fanfic-noiseless@...)

<SkyKnight> I should have seen this one coming.

White Wolf posts stats on who posted the
most notes to the ML, and
	everyone immediately jumps on the
bandwagon posting spam.

I didn't need to come home to 255+posts
and several comm overruns.

Now that I've said that, I feel much
better.

<Wolf>I have decided, from this and other posts, never to post stats again.
	Don't even ask.

-----

Saf worked on *her* fanfic, "Bubblegum Warners"...and I run away
from Bentley's.

-----

Ok, I finally got around to working on this thing again while I was
brewing some root beer and waiting for it to steep and cool down. (I
can't wait to try this batch. It's the first time I've brewed anything.
*grin*) This chapter's nowhere near finished because I got stuck partway
through. I'm hoping a little voting will give me some inspiration. Just
what you're voting on is at the end.

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"I'm too tired to think of a witty quote right now so :P :P :P !!!"

-----

<Bentley> A few people have expressed interest about getting into
	Forbidden Ops.

I've got descriptions from Bruce and
Sapphire already. What I
need from anyone else is a description of
them. Hair, eyes, traits,
likes, dislikes, what type of person they
are, ect ect ect. And course
the biggie question: Good guy, bad or
inbetween.

* Damon pops out of an interdimensional portal, looking wet, dirty, and
	flustered.

* Damon looks around, and focuses on the reader...

    "Do NOT!! go in there."
    "Whew!"

*Damon runs away from Forbidden Ops as fast as is impossible.

	Heh. :)

<Saf> I've already told him that I liked it, "Wolfie boy". *grin*

<Wolf> Make you a deal. I don't call you Sapphy, (or cute) you don't
	call me wolfie.

<Saf> Deal.

I take it you're going to ask Bents to
change that line in Forbidden
	Ops. :)

<Wolf> No, I like it.

Sapphire
"Oh where, oh where has my little W***** gone? Oh where, oh where can
he be..." Sorry, WW, I just couldn't resist. ;) I promise it won't happen
again.

-----

I found out Saf wasn't so bloodthirsty after all...

-----

<Aaron> Who here agrees with me that Saf needs a guy? if she
really feels this way she's gonna be
mighty lonely..'less she
finds someone who's been a Very Bad Boy
and needs to be
	Punished :P

<Damon> If *you* think Saf needs a guy, then try being friends with
her and see what happens. I don't know if
you'll get very far...
;-) ...but you can if you want to.

<Damon> Oh, so you mean you're not so bloodthirsty in RL? Kewl!!

<Saf> No, I'm not _that_ bloodthirsty. *Laughter rings out in the room*
HEY, QUIT LAUGHING BACK THERE OR I'LL HIDE
YOUR CAR
KEYS!!! See, I didn't threaten them with
any bodily harm at all. ;)

<Damon> What happened, Saf? Not enough people to threaten?

	*rrowr*

	Eep?

	;)

<Saf> Sorry, Damon. October was a busy RL month for me. :P

<Damon> Hey, wow. It's amazing. She didn't threaten me with hell and
bloody mayhem for saying that! :)

'Course, that was at about 2 in the
morning. And I'm not planning
on making a habit of it, but...

Cool! (does this mean I'm on her good
side now? ;)

<Saf> Hmmm....not quite yet. Work at it a bit more and maybe you'll get
	there ;)

<AlberCrombie> GOODIE! I was feeling neglected. I almost considered
coming out of hiding. Now that I know you
weren't ignoring us on
purpose I assume that you will resume that
contract on my head?
I was worried, no one's taken a pot shot
at the ol' gopher lately.
Didn't know how to take that.

<Aaron> *turns to AlberCrombie* pot shot? *whacks 'Crombie with a pot*
	There ya go :)

<Damon> AlberCrombie, you really are *dying* for attention, aren't you??

	Crazy kids these days... :)

<AlberCrombie> Bored, actually.

	;]

<Damon> So in your boredom, you risk your cyber hide??

	Why?

You're crazier than I am. Sheesh.

<Saf> I'm not neglecting you and _do_ come out of hiding...I have a
_lovely,
little_ surprise just for you. *grin*
Oh, you wanted a pot shot?

* Saf takes a dart, fills it with pot and shoots it toward the gopher.

<Saf> Darn! Missed again. Looks like I have to practice with this thing a
bit
more. Ah well, long range weapons aren't
my strong point anyway.

<AlberCrombie>

The Gopher
[ps, 32 is a cute number ;} ]

	heheh

<Saf> Oh yeah? Well, I only have two things to say to you:

	:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

	and

	DIE!!!!!! ;>

<Omega> Don't ever forget about a test.

<Damon> Tuesday, next week. Quantum Physics.

And I *ain't* gonna pass it either.
*sigh*

* Saf hands Damon an OZian knowledge pill.

<Saf> Take this with a glass of water before the test. Good luck! :)

<Damon> If only it were that easy. Ugh.

	Just remembered. My Computer Programming
mini-project is
due Tuesday. I need to get that done,
*and* study for the test.

	Bleargh.

Good bye, sleep. It's been nice knowing
you.

YYYAAAYYY!!! I've got irc now, thanks to Dan. (Thanks, Dan!) Could

<Wing> Yes!!! Connect to: IRC.PRIMENET.COM

	See ya on #ranma!, Saf.

Saf
(can't wait to join in the fun!)

-----

That was Friday the 17th. Thanksgiving
break started the following
Wednesday, the 22nd. It wouldn't be too much longer before I met Saf on
IRC...

Right around that time, Andy Skuse (Panda-kun) joined the FFML. And where
there was Andy, there was...Daktari.

-----

* Andy unwittingly finds himself knee-deep in the tall grass of the
savanna;
unarmed and in the natural domain of-

	The Blue Tigress . . .

<Saf> The savanna? This particular cat would rather be in a forest where
	there's shade. Besides, MY _natural
domain_ extends much farther
	than just the savanna. ;)

<Andy> Andy considers his encounter with the Blue Tigress the day before.
Perhaps a journey into the shadowed realm
of the forest would be
	interesting . . .

<Brian> Ok, what do I have to do? Am I getting through to you people?

<Saf> Yes, your stories are getting through. I'm just very backlogged
going
through all the stuff from this ML. And
not everyone reads every story.
I'm sort of tired of Ranma and have been
skipping over them for the
moment. I'm not even going to look at my
Ranma fanfic for a couple of
days, much less work on it.

<Andy> I am a recent first-time FanFic poster on this mailing list (off to
his
left, Andy hears the tall grass rustle.
The wind?) and the comments I
received on my Fic provided me with the
initial incentive to bear
down and continue this satisfying leisure-
time activity (<snap>
Andy's body stiffens. A bead of sweat
makes its way over the
sunburnt terrain of his face. The
omnipresent chorus of cicadas
suddenly evaporates into a humid silence)
but they do not determine
whether I will post again or not (a hot
wind washes the grass
breaking the glassy peace and prompting a
hunger driven, guttural
purge from a point a few yards away) as I
write primarily for
myself but enjoy sharing my production for
the possible enjoyment
of others (Andy spies a gnarled, twisted
growth of bark and leaf
before him some forty feet away. He
suddenly ends his paralysis and
	begins sprinting through the knife-edged
green towards the tree) and...

<Saf> Don't you know that running away from hunters trigger their chasing
instinct? Anyway, tigers can climb trees,
too, although we prefer not
	to...have this little problem with
heights. :P

<Andy> As he enters the dark green world of the forest he can sense that he
is
being watched. He considers his encounter
the previous day and wonders
if he is gambling with his life.

<Andy> ...if they respond with constructive criticism or heartfelt praise
well
after the posting of the story then so be
it (a blue, furred projectile
springs from its grassy blind and bounds
powerfully over blade and
root to cut off the flight of its prey) as
these readers cannot exist
solely for the purpose of scanning this ML
and commenting and
criticising without stopping for food or
drink (Andy approaches the
tree scanning its trunk for handholds.
There are none. Behind him
he can hear the rhythmic swish of grass
being trampled as his
pursuer draws near. He turns to face the
regal creature with blood...

<Saf> I like that phrase..."regal creature"...has a nice ring to it, don't
you
	think? ;)

<Andy> Andy recalls the image of the Blue Tigress as it stood an arm's
length
away preparing to make its attack. It did
not come forward in a blinding
random flurry. It walked about like a
Queen around a servant who did
not know the meaning of respect.

<Andy> ...pounding in his ears and watches in terror as the emerald blades
part) or to go about their daily business
(Andy pans his view wildly,
searching for some kind of defense.
Nothing!) so in closing I would
like to relay that while the C & C of
other FanFicians is welcome at
any time and enjoyable to fathom, neither
its arrival or processing is
elementary to my writing (black, stilletto
bars spike the fine, blue...

<Saf> Hey! That's 'dark blue' bars, not black!

<Andy> He recalls the camouflage of the Tigress and shakes his head, "Blue
not Black, Blue not Black, Blue not-

<Andy> ...mat of the beast's back and sides. Andy observes the
predator's...

<Saf> Ooohhh, calling me a 'beast' now, are you? GGGGRRRRRR!!!!!

<Andy> Andy looks up suddenly into the canopy of the forest. A loud
gutteral
sound breaks the silence. Fear begins to
worm its way into his brain.
He scans the possible roosts of the great
trees and almost passes by
the awesome visage of The Blue Tigress as
she rests. Andy cannot
help but be awestruck by the 'beauty of
the beast'. Ahh, perhaps not a
beast, for a beast is savage and
unthinking. The Blue Tigress considers
her prey before attacking. The sign of an
intelligent hunter.

<Andy> ...carefully placed steps as they trace out a circle around the
tree.
Glistening, black lips pull back to reveal
ivory coloured death,
studding the maw of the great cat.) but it
is conducive to a simple
pleasure and to my continued support of
this List and its
	contributors (needle-like whiskers rise
and settle whilst speartip ears
flatten after each outburst of primal
anger from deep within. Andy
closes his eyes and waits, accepting his
doom. And in a final
reflection, respecting the circle of life
on the savanna).

<Saf> You _better_ accept your doom! It's coming...but just not yet....I
like
	suspense :)

<Andy> Andy realizes that he may have made a mistake in making this trip
into the forest. The Queen of the forest
and savaana is restless. Andy
wonders if the scampish 'wild damon'
somehow escaped its tirades at
	the water hole yesterday. Fortunate
indeed.

Andy (I don't know where the hell that came from) Skuse ^_^

<Saf> Hmpf! Doesn't matter where it came from. It's where it's _going_
that
	should worry you!

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"A beast, am I? Well, we'll just see about that!"

P.S. Welcome to the ML, Andy! ;)

<Andy> Andy stops on the faint trail and begins his slow retreat. He has
learned
a lesson this day. The Blue Tigress is not
a predictable creature. And
respecting a wild animal does not mean
that you will not be devoured.
For hunger reigns in this world; the world
of DAKTARI!

<John D> That was great! It now resides in my fanfic folder. I especially
the
liked the weaving of the calm narrative
with the spice of fear as "she"
	approached..

<Andy> Hey John. Well, thanks! I guess I was intrigued by the comments on
	"Saph's blood-thirsty rep" during last
weeks spam-fest and decided to
combine my thoughts on the "late comments"
issue with my
observations of The Blue Tigress in her
element. And of course to
make the point that writing should be fun.
	In my wierd little way^_^

Andy Skuse

P.S. I noticed you didn't try to use the body of my message in your
reply. I'd like to see someone attempt it :)

<Damon> Aw, c'mon. She's not *that* bad. Personally, I think she's
kinda...

*Saf waits in anticipation for the next word, electric net at the ready...

<Damon> Actually, I was thinking of a *different* 'c' word...but I don't
think
you'd appreciate that one either. But
then again, one can always
	dream. See below.

<Andy> Don't say it!

<Damon> I know. If I had, she'd really be mad at me. I'd be another
target,
like AlberCrombie. As it is, I haven't
actually called her...well, you
	get the picture. 8^)

*Saf sighs in disappointment and scratches Damon's name off her hitlist.

<Damon> Thank you, your royal highness.

* Damon spies a blue teddy bear sitting on nearby chair, leering...

<Damon> Uh oh.

	:)

What was that about nightmares, Saf??

<Saf> *evil grin*

<Damon> So you remembered that post, too.

<Damon> BTW, my grandmother actually did send a teddy in the box I just
got yesterday. I have no idea why; she
usually doesn't do things
	like that.

	HAVE YOU TWO BEEN COLLABORATING??
*grumphhle*

<Saf> Nope. I've never met her. Maybe she's p-sychic. Or maybe she's
been spying on you. Feel like Big
Brother...or, in this case, Big
	Grandmother... is watching you? ;)

<Damon> Nope. Come to find out she wanted something to go with a cup she
sent me. Both the teddy and the cup have
a scarf on them, and she
	knows I like scarves.

	Unusual, but not so frighteningly
prescient as I once thought.

	;p

<Saf>

Saf
"To sleep, perchance to dream..."

<Damon> The dream was...interesting. But darn it, I don't have any more
free time to write another fanfic. 8^)pp

<Damon> ...but now I do. Expect something different, soon.

[And I proceeded to write "Something totally different". For those of you
who may be interested, it's post #4163. Unfinished, but it gets off to a
great start.]

<Andy> DAKTARI 2; The adventure continues . . .
Andy's retreat from the forest is
temporarily cut off.

<Andy> The beast turns suddenly, a new scent on the wind. Far stronger
than that of the quivering human before
her. To Andy's amazement
the Blue Tigress turns away slowly, it's
nose raised slightly to inhale
more of the language of the wind. A new
prey has taunted her by
daring to commit the most violent offense.
She suddenly springs
away through the grass whence she came to
be no more than a
memory and a symbol of respect on the
savanna. Andy can only pity...

<Saf> 'a symbol of respect'? Do you really respect me? Cool! ;)

<Andy> Andy gambles and stares up into the canopy again to glimpse
The Blue Tigress just once more. A curled
back lip and soft growl
ends the throw of the dice and Andy
continues his methodical retreat.

<Andy> ...the creature that dared taunt The Blue Tigress with his boldness.
He
considers a trip to the water hole to see
if the brazen 'wild damon' is...

* Saf ponders....Shall I tame the 'wild damon' or just kill it?....

<Andy> The adventurer ponders the events the day before as he rubs the
sleep from his still tired eyes. How did
the 'wild damon' escape?
It had shown little respect for The
Huntress. Perhaps it had
narrowly escaped. Or perhaps The Tigress
was only playing with
	its victim.

<Andy> ...brave enough to set foot in sight of The Blue Tigress. No, he
laughs,
that would surely be death. Surely.

<Saf> Death?

* Saf ponders Andy's offenses for a moment.

<Saf> Naah, you only called me a 'beast' so I'll only horribly maim
you...in a
	'beast'-like way, of course. ;)

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"If I'm a hunting beast, then that means you're...DINNER!"

<Andy> A growl from the trees quickens Andy's pace as he reaches the edge
of
the forest. His Range Rover is only fifty
feet away. He could run-
He considers the advice of his guide
Umpoopoo. "Do not run from
a Tiger. It makes them run too."
	Only fifty feet away . . .

<Damon> Here, puss puss puss. HERE, puss! 8^)

	Hehe.

<Saf> GGGRRRRR!!!! Don't do that either. I'm not a pussy cat. I'm a
TIGER and you _dont_ call tigers unless
you want to _be_ dinner.

* Saf thinks about adding Damon to the horribly maim and disfigure list
	right after Andy.

<Damon> Actually, one of those Doctor Who episodes? Take a look, I think
	you'll like the...um...guest stars, in
that one.

<Damon> She doesn't know where I live, so I'm not overly worried.

Um, wait a sec. I just sent those doctor
who tapes...with my return
	address??!? Ugh, somebody shoot the
mailman, quick!

	;)

<Saf> *evil grin* Just wait till those tapes get here, buster. You'll be
in
	BIG trouble then! ;)

<Damon> No, don't think so. Actually, I think you'll end up thanking me
for
an entirely different reason. But I don't
want to spoil your fun, so...

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress
"Hmm...at this rate, the whole ML will have wanted posters on them."

<Damon> You want us to post? I thought we were doing that already. ;)

<Andy> The 'wild damon' arrives at the watering hole and tests the waters.
Zebra, gazelle and hippo alike take their
turns using the muddy liquid
for a bath and refeshment. The wild damon
lowers its head to drink.
From the grassy embankment a few yards
away The Blue Tigress
watches patiently as her prey satisfies
his thirst and then taunts the
regal feline by turning its back and
romping playfully about on the
muddy bank. The Blue Tigress reflects that
she has been away from
the easy pickings of the watering hole for
far too long.

<Damon> But luckily, this damon has a few tricks up his sleeve.

I know where *she* lives. Hehe. }8^)

[note: to send her the tapes, I had to have her address in the first
place]

<Andy> Andy's retreat temporarily halts at the edge of the forest. His
Range Rover only fifty feet away . . .

<John D> Damon,

I'm going to miss your "Blue Lightning"
series - too bad you aggravated
the "blue" person, heh, heh. Or is that,
the "non-human entity with the
	kawaikune complex?

<Damon> Heh. I don't think I aggravated her. It might *seem* that
way...but
remember this is just people writing
dialogue and scenes for her.

While I won't say for *sure* that she's
not going to be mad, (don't want
to incorrige her ;) I'll at least say she
has nothing on me whereof to
accuse me. I didn't use the 'c' word.
(Or the 'k' word for that matter)
So...I'll just play it safe for now, and
try being nice to her. If I'm
lucky, (probably not, but I might as well
try anyway) it might even work.
	8)

BTW, what's going on? Why are you going
to miss Blue Lightning? Are
	you leaving or something?

<Saf> *sigh* What is this? Irritate the tigress week? Andy calls me a
	'beast'...Damon think I'm a pussy
cat...and now I'm called an 'non-human
entity'? LISTEN UP, EVERYBODY! _I_ _AM_
_A_ _TIGRESS_!!!!! And
as everyone knows, the female is more
deadly than the male so you'd
	better remember that fact. :P :P :P :P :P
:P :P

<Omega> <sigh> When she gets defensive, it's so... KAWAII! :)

	Whoops! <sound of decapitation> ^_^

<Saf> GGGRRRR!!!!!! *Saf takes a taser, sets it on very very painful, and
proceeds to zap Omega with it until he
recants his statement* ZAP!
ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! Hmm...I never knew
your hair could stand up
	so high. ;)

<Omega> Saf, I feel the outrageous honour to be zapped by your most
	nebulous presence! :) Scout's honour, I
will recant once you have
zapped me just a few more times--PLEASE!

<Saf> OK! :)

ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!

	There! Now will you recant?

<Omega> <checks mirror> AUGHHHHH!!! With my hair straight up I can see
the grey! No!! It's your fault, damn you!

<Saf> *Saf looks at Omega carefully*

What's wrong with a little grey? I think
it makes you look
	distinguished. ;)

<Omega> You are cursed: whenever you sleep, you'll dream that you are
	watching Sailor Moon--FOREVER!!!!

* Saf just shrugs.

<Saf> Sailor Moon is ok...in small doses or with the sound turned off. I
can
	live with it. ;)

<Andy> Andy turns back to the dark confines of the forest and searches
frantically for The Blue Tigress where it
rested only moments ago. But it
is gone. He turns back to regard the
safety of his vehicle only fifty feet
away. Suddenly he detects movement from
the corner of his eye. He spins
and is face to face with The Blue Tigress.
But this time there is something
	different about The Hunter's appearance.
The great cat begins to glow
with a sapphire radiance as its outline
begins to change. Blue crystalline
beams undulate and flicker like the pulse
of tribal drums. Paws
transform into feet and hands. Fur
transforms into skin and long
flowing hair. But the glittering eyes
remain.

<Saf> So now I'm a shapechanger, huh? ;)

<Andy> "Bow down before The Queen and your maiming will be swift
	and merciful."
Andy drops to the ground and emulates a
waiting servant.
"That's better. Perhaps you have learned
the meaning of respect.
	Now . . ."

<Saf> I hope I never sound this pompous! Sounds like Kuno.

<Andy> The Blue Tigress reaches down with a silken hand adorned with
long, blue nails and lifts Andy's head up
to peer into his terrified
	eyes.
" . . . Now go. And do not tempt me again
by such foolish actions
as I have seen. Go- and do not forget who
I am- Sapphire The Queen
of the forest and savanna and lots of
other places that you may roam.
	Go . . ."

<Saf> What a lot of gobbledy-gook! I'm not one for speeches, so I'd
probably just whack him on the head like
this:

*Saf takes a LARGE mallet and WHACKS Andy!

<Andy> Andy rises slowly, tearing his gaze from The Queens hypnotic stare.
Turning reluctantly he makes his way
towards his Range Rover. A
moment later he gambles once more and
turns to see The Queen one
	last time.
But she is gone. Only a memory and a
legend amongst the people
	of the tribes.

	Respect indeed.

Andy Skuse
(Humble servant . . . That has a nice ring to it)

<Saf> 'Humble servant'? Then kindly do not put words in my mouth.

<Wing> It's irritate the tigress week?? Cool! Hey! I wanna feed the blue
furry dog. ^_^ *whack* *slap* *punch*
OUCH!!!!

	Nagisa[angry]: Have some respect for
others, Wing!!

	Ahhhh... I was just kidding!

Nagisa[whacking him again]: If you call
Saf a blue furry .... again, I'll
	        re-program your computer!

Ha! You don't know how to do that!!

	Nagisa[grinning evilly]: True, but this
axe does... hehe...

<John D> ps Re-reading last sentence 30 or 40 times to make sure I'm NOT
about
to become the next target, although I
couldn't resist the phrasing...

<Saf> 30 or 40 times, huh? Looks like you didn't re-read it enough.
* Saf writes Johnd's name on a piece of paper, tacks it on the dartboard,
and
practices shooting her dartgun at it.

<Wing> Nagisa[directs Wing's attention to the board]: That _could_ be
you...

Saf (thinks these guys are having too much fun with this)

<Bruce> The fun comes from your reaction, that's all.

Bruce R. "I'm not afraid." Brunk

<Wing> Fun?? [feeling for broken bones] I tend to disagree...

<John D> To: Members of the ML
	Re: Pre-memorial service

Please read and comment on "Scyth" and the
"Blue Lighting" series very,
very quickly since our resident felinoid
entity is going to (how does the
CIA express it?) remove Damon with extreme
prejudice (for flat out
stupidity in POing her, heh, heh)...

<Saf> A bit premature, don't you think? I haven't decided what I'm going
to do
with him yet. I've already decided that
he gets to live... although in a
	lot of pain. *grin*

johnd (The Quivering Coward - get him, not me!)

<Damon> Ah, so *that's* it. No, don't think she'll do that. Besides, she
likes
the story herself. Killing me would
create problems there. ;)

*mutters to himself* Now where did I put
that Luger? Ah, here it is...
	;^)pp

<Saf> quiver....that reminds me...

* Saf puts away her dartgun and pulls out a bow and some arrows and starts
	shooting at the dartboard again.

<Saf> I haven't done this in quite a while...maybe I should make Johnd
stand
in front of the dartboard. ;)

-----

After a while, it degenerated...and then something unexpected happened.

-----

<Andy> From the relative safety of his Range Rover out on the
savanna Andy hears the tribal drums of the
world of- DAKTARI!!!

<Damon> I'd say she's very predictable. But then again, that's a good
thing
for those of us who choose to sit on the
outskirts of this cyber reality
and contemplate the beauty and grandeur
from afar.

<Saf> I wouldn't say that I'm _very_ predictable. Just a bit. Especially
on
	certain topics. ;)

<Damon> Okay, I'll agree with that.

<Damon> (there; now she'll stop bothering me ;)

<Saf> Now when have I ever _bothered_ you? I just reply to your posts
when they concern me (which seems to be an
awful lot lately for
	some strange reason) ;)

<Damon> Hm. Threatening death and mayhem is *not* bothering me??
Well... Never mind. Seems to have blown
over, anyway.

*Saf gives Damon a hug and goes away to _bother_ someone else for
	a while.

<Damon> Awww...how sweet.

Suddenly, I don't mind being "bothered" so
much anymore. ;)

<Andy> The 'wild damon' has revived from its slumber. Poking it's head
out from its burrow (similar to that of a
gopher's ^_^) it surveys
the land surrounding the watering hole.
The setting is calm and
serene. Suddenly a large, blue paw
reaches down from above, its
claws piercing the wild damon's thick
hide. Sapphire The Blue
Tigress hauls its prey up onto the burrows
dusty roof. The 'wild
damon' squirms in The Hunters grasp but to
no avail.

	"Ahhh breakfast," Sapphire exudes, "the
most important meal of the
	day."

The wild damon foregoes its struggle and
begins to speak, "Ah . . .
your highness! You should have let me know
it was you. My word,
you are absolutely radiant this morning!
Have you been eating more
gophers lately? Your fur shines like the
very sun! And your eyes, they
	sparkle like- like-"

	The Blue Tigress waited, "Yes?"

<Damon> Will you stop putting words in my mouth? Try this:

The 'wild damon' is not a gopher. It does
not hide at the hint of
trouble. It is a wolf, with all the
cunning, intelligence, and bravery
that such an animal is known for.

<Wolf> Hardly. The wild damon is no brother of mine. However, I like the
	cunning, intelligence, and bravery
remarks. You have respect for at
	least one predator.

<Damon> You'd be surprised. I'm currently holding my own, and rather well,
	in a play-by-email Blake's 7 game, in the
character of Avon. Let's just
say that Avon is a very dark character,
whom you would *not* expect to
be the "good" guy, if you just happened to
meet him. But he is, anyway.

<Damon> The Blue Tigress spied him, and gave chase...then halted, puzzled,
for the wild damon did not run.

	It stood there, admiring.

<Wolf> I don't think so. I would not take on a Tigress. She outweighs me
by
600 pounds at least. (272 kilograms)

<Damon> I would. Call me crazy, but I think I know what I'm doing. In
this,
perhaps I am more brave than you?

<Wolf> No, stupid. ^_^

<Damon> Nah, I have the psychological advantage. }8^)

Besides, now I have blackmail material.
Heh. :)

<AlberCrombie> So, what you are saying is - you think she's fat?

ooohh - I just called her cute - you are
in real trouble. ;p

[No, I have her address, baka! And now I have more than that. Not that it
matters any more... *smile*]

<Damon> The tigress approached, suspicious. Prey that did not run was
rare.
This one would be a challenge.

The wolf howled, a lonely cry. It bowed,
and padded away silently
into the depths of the night, the tigress
watching him go.

<Wolf> This would be accurate.

<Damon> Of course.

<Damon> I never grovel, but I am always ready to display the requisite
respect so as not to get my hide chewed.

<Wolf> This too.

<Damon> But of course. I'm always one for realism, or hadn't you noticed?

<Damon> Heh. :)

<Andy> A wolf eh? Somehow 'hy' 'ena' seeing it that way. :^)

<Damon> Nah.

<Andy> Damon you're a good sport.

<Damon> Thanks.

<Andy> ^_^

<Andy> But don't be so quick to rule out the hyena as an animal-identity.
While the hyena gets a bad rep (like some
blue tigers around here)
it is an incredibly intelligent animal.
Probably as intelligent as most
wolves (except white ones) when it comes
to hunting. There have
been a number of excellent PBS specials on
over the past year that...

<Wolf> Eh???? Oi.

	...have exposed the hyena's true
lifestyle. Hyenas travel in groups with
a matriarchal structure. They were shown
attacking a lioness that
had been shunned from it's pride and the
results were not in the
lioness' favor (wonder what Saf thinks
about that^_^).

<Wolf> Hm. But a tigress is about 200 pounds heavier than a lioness.

<Andy> Care to change your animal identity?

<Damon> No. Hyenas are still primarily scavengers, whatever their other
traits. Yes, I've seen those PBS
specials. But I'm not a scavenger.
That is, I don't take other people's story
ideas and run with them. Heh.
Guess that makes just about everyone
*else* on this list a scavenger,
	though. ;)

<Wolf> Shows what you know. Wolves scavenge too.

<Damon> I just found that out. But even so, they're much more subtle about
it.
	Hyenas aren't. Wolves are somehow
more...noble, if you know what I
	mean.

<Wolf> Well thank you. ^_^

<Andy> Ah, point taken. But I have been working on a non-anime story that I
think is still in the spirit of anime
stories and characters. I just hadn't
considered posting it here. Hmmm. BTW,
you're a BGC fan aren't you?
Did you read the revise I did on BGCross 1
& 2 last night?

<Andy> Besides we got one here already (sorry about this spamfic WW.
DAKTARI was a horrible show to begin
with^_^)

<Damon> Well, I didn't have much choice of animals. It was either a wolf
or
a fox. And I didn't want to be a foxx. :)

<Wolf> Hmm... Considering that, you realize all of us in the wolf family
(It is
*not* the dog family. Those are our
stupid cousins.) spam a ton?

<Damon> Then I shall have to endeavor to rise above my brethren.

	Heh. :)

<Andy> Ah, looking for the 'cool' animals. How about a cheetah or a jaguar
or a panther? Have we got some of those
here already?

<Damon> I am not a predator either. So I'm left with the fox, or the wolf.

<Wolf> I am. ^_^

<Damon> If you say so. I haven't been really seriously threatened yet, at
least not to within an inch of my life, so
I have no reason to lash out.

	Yet.

<Andy> Eh? Foxes and wolves not predators? They certainly don't pull into
the
local McPreys and order a Quail Pounder
with cheese, rabbit McNuggets
and a Large Blood milkshake do they? I
happened to spot a fox early
one morning as I arrived at work a few
months back, sneaking off with
a young Canada gosling in it's mouth. I'd
say that qualifies as a predator.
Come to think about it, that was awfully
close to scavenger-like behavior.
I wonder if that gosling was the weakest
one of the nest?
And I ain't gonna say nothin about wolves!
^_^

<Damon> Okay, I don't like to be thought of as a predator. I'm more the
subtle
type. Look at it that way. :)

<Andy> I can see that.

<Damon> If you've ever seen Blake's 7, you might compare me to Avon, with a
	better sense of humor.

Andy> Now I haven't seen that yet.

<Damon> If you wish, I could rectify that situation, assuming you wanted to
start
	up a tape trade.

<Damon> Which reminds me. I'm *playing* Avon in a play-by-email RPG
currently.
	And I'm having a blast.

<Andy> It's been a pleasure working with you Damon for this weekends
	Spam-a-thon. Let's go to the tote-board .
. . 0!!!

	Yeesh. I think it's somebody else's turn.

	Jerry Lewis?!! What a surprise!

	"HEY LADY!!!! OOOHH, Waahh!!"

<Damon> You need a RL, *badly*. ;)

<Andy> I am heading out the door to resume it as I write this. Keep an
eye on Jerry for me will ya?

<Damon> I'll hold that second opinion for you. (out take from "The
Outrageous
	Okona", ST:TNG)

<Andy> Oh and ah- Good luck. Yer gonna need it when Saph checks
her mail. WW isn't buying it and neither
am I :^)

<Damon> It is not for you to "buy" it. And I'm not "buying it", either.
(the
*other* meaning of the phrase) But I *am*
being relatively serious. I'm
not about to get Saf mad. Not after I
managed an address and...

...but I'll let you think about that. :)

PS Saf, they already knew about the address, since I mentioned sending the
    Doctor Who tapes to you.

<Saf> Yes, I remember. Don't worry, I won't whack you for that. :)

-----

Thanksgiving Break was getting closer...

-----

<Damon> We seem to have a dearth of felines at the moment...

<Damon> Morning, Tigress. O, master of the brown, squishy stuff.

	:)

[note: the title of this thread was "Blue Tigress Spamfics"]

<Wolf> Hey hey, this spam! We are trying to cut back, remember?

<Damon> Well, I don't eat spam anyway. And for some strange reason,
I can't seem to gain any weight beyond 125
lbs.

Besides, that was my first real spam in...

...well, it's been a while. And I was
hoping Tigress was online.
	Guess not. Oh well.

I'll get back to my CS homework now...

*****

<AlberCrombie> I can't leave you people alone for 12 hours - can I?

It was clean when I left, and now there's
spam on the walls.
WHAT WILL HITOMI THINK? Jeez! Here...[hands Damon a mop]

..and you.....[hands WW a bucket and
sponge]

			and I'm not forgetting you,
either [snags Saf as she
tries to sneak out the back - handing her
a paint can and brush]

oh, yah - you three [looking at Aaron and
company] Since you are
so inclined to be multiple people, you can
do multiple work, here's
a broom, a weedwacker, and a roll of duct
tape.

I want this place spotless when I get
back!!!!!!

just to make sure, hehe, I'm locking the
door and taking the key.

	wadda mess......

	*SLAM*
	-click-

* Andy steps out from behind the door.
<Andy> <Exhaling loudly> Whew, that was close. I guess he must have
missed my Spam-a-thon show with Damon.

	Heh heh.

<Wolf> Not to worry! That was the fake key. I have the real one right
here.
-click- Um.. wrong one. -click- Just a
second, I have it here
	somewhere... -click-

	[A couple hundred clicks later.]

	-click-

Um... ok, we have a problem.

* Saf just takes out a personal fold gate, turns it on, and leaves.

<Saf> A note and a package drops out of the gate and to the floor as the
	gate closes. It reads:

It's not my fault. If _certain_ people
would stop all this speculation
about me and stop calling me _cute_, there
would be a lot less spam.
If you post something involving me, _of
course_ I'm going to reply. Oh,
and give this package to AlberCrombie when
he comes back, will you?
	Thanks ;)

Saf

P.S. Good luck to the rest of you getting out of here. I hope it'll be
a little while till you get out. Maybe then this'll all die down
      quietly. ;P

*Damon whips out his sonic screwdriver, and the lock clicks over and opens.

<Damon> Sorry, I have 212 homework to finish.

<AlberCrombie> Did I mention that the door was spring loaded?

	SpRoinG! *SLAM*
	-click-

<Wolf> Hold on! I have the bloody key... somewhere. (bloody card?
	nah.)

<Damon> "Kyaa!" The door decides to stay open this time, leaning
drunkenly, its top hinge hanging loose.

I want sleep. I'm going home now. Good
morning.

<Wolf> Me too. Work is done, time to IRC.

<Damon> You have no RL, you know that? ;)

<Wolf> Yes. And your point is...?

<Damon> Just listening to Purple Motion's "Unreal II", before the bus
comes. Home to study my Japanese for
about an hour, then to
	Japanese class at 9:30 EST. (It's 8:15
EST now)

*****

<Damon> ...I was hoping Tigress was online. Guess not. Oh well.

<Saf> I think I was on then. But I don't get any 'You have new mail'
messages unless I'm actually reading my
mail.

<Damon> I'll get back to my CS homework now...

<Saf> Good luck with your CS hw, Damon. :)

<Damon> Not done yet!!

45.6 hours straight, and still chugging
along.... *grrumphle*

[What the hell was wrong with me??!? How come I didn't notice that Saf was
starting to be nicer to me? *sigh*]

<Wing> Btw, Saf, are you gonna be on irc? If so, check out #ranma! ^_^
	Nice friendly place.

<Saf> Yes, I'll be on it tomorrow night. I'm a bit too tired tonight.

Sapphire, The Tired Blue Tigress
"Relatives are one of life's greatest disruptive influences."

<Damon> *YOU'RE* tired??!?

	Hmph.

I'm still amazed I'm actually lucid.

[Someone should have shot me and put me out of her misery... 8(]

-----

That last was Tuesday, the day before Thanksgiving break. She was on IRC
the next night, just before she went home for Thanksgiving.

I joined, on a whim. We met....

For all my stupid pranks, and even after everything I'd done, she hugged me
hello, glad to see me. I just stood there, dumbfounded. Took me a little
while just to wave back, shyly. And while I watched her blow bubbles,
keeping pretty much to herself, that first night, I thought about what had
just happened.

Something *had* happened. Go ahead and read "the story of how Damon met
Saf" I told on IRC, if you haven't already.

-----

<Wolf> Hey, I've never called you cute, cutie.

<Saf> _Cutie_ is out, too, _Wolfie_ :P

<Wolf> Saphie?

<Saf> *sigh* All right, Wolfie, you can call me Saphie if it makes you
feel
	special :P

<Wolf> Thanks Saphie, you cutie!

<Saf> Argh!

* Saf takes a bar of soap and washes out WW's mouth with it.

Don't call me CUTIE! It's even worse than
CUTE!

<Damon> Yeah. Be polite to the lady.

* Damon notices the leather. "Err..."

	;)

<AlberCrombie> I'm stayin' out of this!

<Wolf> Yuck. Ok, no more cutie.

Saphie is so *cute* when she's mad!

-----

Oh, and meanwhile, Saf captured the Gopher. ^_- Made up with Andy, too.

-----

<Saf> BTW, never startle a cat. We don't react too well to surprises.

<AlberCrombie> Nah - just use a firehose.

	;}

<Saf> A FIREHOSE???

	* Saf investigates and finds AlberCrombie.

<Saf> I've got you now, you gopher!

* Saf throws her electric net over him and quickly turns it on, zapping him
unconscious.

<Saf> HA! Now you're going to pay!

* Saf gathers her net in....

Saf
"MMmmm...gopher stew!"

<Aaron> *popping his head up* you mean you're not after me anymore?

<Saf> Hmm...I probably should have started taking names down when it
started getting a bit involved. Was I
hunting you, Aaron? My memory's
like a sieve tonight. I know I'm not
hunting Damon or Andy anymore. :)

<AlberCrombie> AND? AND? (I can't stand the suspence)

I always did want to go out in style....

	....be gentle ;]

<AlberCrombie> I think you are all looney...I dunno if you noticed it, but
Saf's
a terrible shot. It took her a net to
catch me. By annoying her, I've been
	helping her target practice. :}

BTW: Saf, what did ever become of me?

*****

<Andy> Well.

Okay, if the theory of opposite approaches
works for George
Costanza then maybe it'll work for me.

<Saf> Who's George Costanza?

<Andy> Saf's cute.

Andy :)

<Saf> AARRRGGHH!!!! *Saf takes out another taser, sets it on 'very
painful,
	excruciatingly painful, so painful you
wish you were dead painful', and
starts zapping Andy with it* ZAP! ZAP!
ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!
ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!
ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!
	ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!

Saf *wondering if there's an obedience school for MLers*

<John D> Saf,
Andy's probably been chasing Lum again,
and after her response to his
advances, your taser is probably just
tickling him. Use the Jeriten
approach next time. I have a handy dandy
mark VIIb flamethrower that
you can borrow... And, if that dosen't
work, I'll nail him from my personal
orbital laser complex for you (6 1000
terrawatt micro-focused lasers -
	instant crispy critter!).

Btw, in order to use any of the above
retaliatory weoponry, johnd comes
off the dartboard at once - it hurts! I
have, at least temporarily, learned my
	lesson.

	Humbly yours...

johnd

ps An obedience school implies the target has the intelligence to
understand
the training! On this ML, you've got to be joking. ^_^

<Andy> Hello John. Well, you might like to know that Saf and I have
declared a truce and I believe are well on
our way to becoming
fast friends :) I have completed my spam
withdrawal period and
am working very hard at posting only
Fanfic chapters (3 & 4 of which
I posted this morning ;) and the
occasional constructive criticism
or praise of any fanfics I read^_^
It might also interest you to know that
upon the creation of our
	truce, I presented Saf with a custom-made
weapon that might very well
put an end to her teasing.

But you'll have to ask her ;)

<John D> Yo Andy,
You're no damned fun! If you read my
"ps", then you know what my ulterior
motive was in sacrificing you. Getting me
off the dartboard! I hate
	diplomatic agreements...

<Andy> Hey John. I'd like to see you off the dartboard too but I learned
my lesson and I think I've brought enough
mallets upon my head
and tasers upon my flesh ^_^

	Andy (Mr. No Damned Fun)
	^_^

For some odd reason, people started getting the idea to post Christmas

RAM/HDD/motherboard/hardware/software/whole new
computer upgrade if I have to :)

-----

Then...

-----

<Saf> Hiya all!

Finally getting around to my email
tonight. :)

	Hmmm...only about 300 messages in 5 days?
I'm disappointed. Guess a
lot of you folks went home for T-Day. Ah
well, so did I. *Saf thinks about
the turkey dinner she didn't get to eat
cuz she was a little sick that night* :(
And I helped make most of it, too! *sigh*

Now, on to reading the mail! :)

Sapphire, The Blue Tigress

P.S. And, Damon? I've got the tapes! :) :) :)

-----

*happy sigh* She didn't carry through on making use of my place of
residence information, either. I wonder why... ^_^

I'm not looking forward to doing December's. This took far, far too long.
But I'll try to manage it...somehow... The memories made it all worth it.
*smile*
