If anything was strange, I felt as though Ranma didn't give very
much thought to his other possible fiancée, Akane...what, did
he just totally forget about her?  In fact, Akane never once ran
through his mind once...

I don't think he wants to think about anymore fiancees anymore--finding 
out someone you love hates you kinda would turn me off to asking another 
fiancee--even one that admitted that she loved me.

I was talking about BEFORE he proposed, not afterwards.  I expected
something like "ok, am i sure i want to do this? after all...[lists
alternatives to himself]"
