A crackpot suggestion.
As this ML grows, more and more people are behind on the current running
series', there's seems to be a growing number of requests for reposts or
direct e-mail requests for fanfics. I know, as I've posted several
myself. But I was wondering if it would be more efficient if instead of
sending the fanfic either to the person, or reposting to the ML, to send
the fanfic to the remailer, so that it would be easily available to
everyone afterwards.
Or, if the remailer seems to official, maybe to setup an alternate
unsorted/uncategorized fanfic storage dump somewhere the fanfics posted
here are just stored as files in a directory.
(If there's a big interest in this idea, I'll look into putting it together.)
I hesitate to speak for WW, but the Remailer is not "too official". It is
setup for the exact purpose of which you speak. WW has made it clear that
the Remailer is for the members of this ML so that they can get to fanfics quickly and easliy. He has also stated that he wants authors to send upgrades
of their stories, so no-one should feel that the Remailer is "too official" for
the latest version of their story, whether first draft or final polished version.
We've got it, let's use it! :)
