Hi Andrew,
I originally replied to your post via the list but on reflection my answer
was rushed and not very helpful so I'll see if I can answer your questions
a little more completely :)
BG Cross is an attempt to answer many questions that were left unanswered
at the end of BGCrisis #8. BG Crash did not take place in the BG Cross
universe.
Many things have changed since 2033. I have written 8 chapters that are available on the remailer that would probably explain many of the questions
you have about continuity. I can see why none of this makes sense to you
now, but here are the reasons why they do according to BG Cross. We'll see if they intrigue you enough to read the other chapters ;)
Okay, well written, but some real continuity failures, starting
around the time Priss gets on the bike.
Priss: gets on bike, still in hardsuit
A motorcycle "bike", yes. They ride their own motoroids without any difficulty while wearing their hard-suits. Blackie's bike is VERY similar to Priss' own bike. Sylia told her not to take her hard-suit off.
Sylia: In van, talking to Blackie, in hardsuit
Yes. She doesn't want to reveal her identity to him.
Priss: Stopped at accident, talking to Leon. (still in hardsuit?)
Yes. There was no mention of her removing it. The KS can talk to each other outside their suits via a speaker which was mentioned in chapter 8.
Leon: Calls Priss by name, in public.
Yes. They not only know each other, but they dated in the past. This does not take place in public either. Leon is alone at the crash scene of the ambulance, waiting for the coroners and fire crews to show up.
Priss: Told to leave site by Sylia, over intercom
Yes. (?)
Sylia: In van, pulls up at accident. (still in hardsuit?)
Yes. There was no mention of her removing it. She informed all of the KS
to keep them on (they are in the presence of a stranger in the van).
Leon: Unsurprised by having a heavy van pull up, with Mackie driving.
It has already been identified as the KS utility van in chapter 8. Leon knows Mackie and he knows what their van looks like.
Mackie: Calls Sylia 'Sis' while handing finger to Leon. (not hidden
>from view)
Again Leon knows Mackie and he knows who Sylia is. The reason he knows this is coming up in a later chapter. And Mackie did not say her name (at which point I think Blackie would have heard him. I was *very* careful about that scene<g>).
This sequence makes no sense. Priss seems to hop in and out of her
HS, and Mackie casually reveals to anybody whos watching or
listening, who one of the KS is. AND unless the back of the van is
soundproof, Blackie can hear everything as well.
Priss did not hop in and out of her hardsuit, as there was no mention of her taking it off from the moment the chapter starts to the point near the end where she takes off her helmet to reveal to Blackie who she is. When Mackie
"reveals" who one of the KS is, there is no-one around but Leon, and again, Leon already knows who they all are. As for the back of the van, I did write that Blackie could hear the muffled sounds of the mini-cranes loading the bikes into the van. If the mini-crane's sound (probably louder than voices)
was muffled, then he probably can't hear voices very clearly.
If you're still wondering how all this came about, check out the other 8 episodes on the remailer. Those chapters should straighten things out :)
Cya
Andy
