Hmm... Ranma and Genma never disturbed the calm life of Ucchan and her
father.... Which means that...
1) her abilities now suck. To put it harshly. Because the encounter
between the two gave Ukyou the inner desire and passion to beat him.
Before that, she was just interested in cooking... maybe...
Ukyou would almost certainly be an Okonomiyaki chef and in all likelihood
would still practice 'Okonomiyaki Style Martial Arts' - however I do
agree that she would (in all probability) be less skilled and with her
ambitions focussed more on cooking than fighting - just don't forget that
in the episode with Joe the Crepes Seller Ukyou's cooking skill was
linked pretty tightly to her Martial Arts Style.
If Ukyou appears she could be assigned any skill level that the author
likes with explanations easy to come by within the context of her life -
she could be hot for revenge on the Gambling King say. :-)
2) She might have become a successful Okonomiyaki cook and moved to
Nerima and away from the country side to make a bit more money. Perhaps
she might take an interest in Ranma, her being successful and him being a
strong man among men. ^_-
Would need to work it much better than that. Ukyou turning up with real
skill could be covered - Ukyou turning up and falling for Ranma... that
would require a little bit of creativity on the authors part.
Of course.... It just means much less digrace heaped on Ranma's life and
mostly on Genma. hehe...
True enough. Genma benefited well from Ranma's wish. <author adopts
pensive stance> Hmmm, I wonder if Genma should ever find out about his
"other self" (or worse yet, Nodoka... [whips out notebook <scribble
scribble> I'm a baaaaad boy! ^_^ ] )
Genma appears to be the same Jerk 'here' as he was 'there', he's just had
fewer opportunities 'here' - he's had to stay around Nodoka a lot.
Hmmm... on the subject of staying around Nodoka - Genma didn't take Ranko
on a great training expedition as he did Ranma, but it would be
consistent for him to have taken Ranko on a number of shorter (1 week? 1
month?) training trips. Something could be made of them if necessary.
As for Genma finding out about his other self - that would have to be if
Ranma was eventually forced to explain all to his family for some
reason. The only other way he could learn is if Ranma accidentally used
the 2nd wish to give everyone access to both sets of memories, unlikely I
think.
Oh yes, someone brought up the concept of the people in this world who
knew the ranma of this world and what about their reaction to the new and
improved Ranma... (well, maybe not new or improved...).
Aggressive and Physical Ranma. The other Ranma is so far indistinct but
some traits are seen: He was quieter, less given to being an individual
and prepared to use his head to gain vengeance on his physically more
dangerous sister - probably not quite as honorable as 'our' Ranma and
much less inclined to use violence - the surprise shown by some students
in the Ranma-Kuno fight seemed directed more at Ranma fighting than his
choice of opponent, still the author can do whatever he wants in that area.
Well, maybe his grades would ... hold on... so he gains no memories or
knowledge from this world? How sad. -_- Though maybe those memories
might start to seep into his displaced conciousness with time like
reversed amnesia... one starts to gain memories that never were in their
lives instead of losing memories.... oh well... just speculations...
Not true! Should Ranma use the second wish to reverse his predicament, he
would remember everything he did and saw. You bring up a good point as to
how he'd recollect his alternate life. That's something else to ponder.
However, Ranma reversing his wish is not in my plans for the moment.
Ranma's memories, or lack of memories, could well prove a nuisance. But
Ranma's main goals progress nicely - he's not cursed, he only has 1
girlfriend, its the girl he really likes and he's now got a family that
he's never had before as a bonus. It would take a real effort to get
things so bad that Ranma would use the second wish to run away.
