I would like to thank everyone who has responded to my fanfic.
I must say that I was overwhelmed at the response my fanfic garnered. I
wasn't expecting anything near the response that I got. To tell the truth,
I must admit that I wasn't really expecting to release the story to the
public, but figured 'what the hell...' But I'm glad to get the feedback, as
it has been very useful in spotting problems with the story. "Your
contributions are greatly appreciated..." ^_^
And I've decided to continue the story, so expect more from me in the
future. (A friend of mine threatened to tie me to a chair and loop
Robotech's "Stagefright" endlessly if I didn't. <shudder>)
I have a few general questions to ask:
1) Do I have any volunteers for dedicated editors? (I don't have to have
only one, btw)
2) In the opening scene at the junk shop, as one person pointed out, I have
a lot of aged Americana in that Japanese store. Any suggestions for
Japanese junk would be greatly appreciated. (humorous or otherwise)
3) I's also like to add some more magical items to the vendor's retinue.
I'd prefer humorous ideas, if possible.
To all of the people who wrote to me, don't worry. Your replies will be
coming.
Again, thanks for the warm welcome you've given my humble fanfic effort.
I must say that I was impressed with your fanfic. I am sorry for the
delay of this response, but I had to think of my questions carefully. I
am a lurker and most of the time, I just read and question and rarely
comment and critique. (I feel that I am not one of those worthy of
making criticisms when I haven done a fanfic myself - perhaps someday).
Thanks for commenting. I'm always glad to hear C&C.
Anyhow the questions:
1. Did Ranma lose his fear of cats? This is probably the first question
that popped-up in my head. Because he never got trained with the Neko
ken, Ranma never had his fear of cats in "current" life; but in his
"previous" existence (sp?), he was trained with Neko ken but also
developed his fear of cats ... (You know what I mean :P)
Ranma's fear of the feline persuasion is still quite intact. As is his 'Cat
fu' technique. That's gonna turn some heads at the Saotome house, I tellya
(not responsible for inferences made on the ML ^_^ ).
2. Is Ranma now more intelligent that he was in his "previous"
existence? We all know that in his "previous" existence anything that
didn't involve martial arts he had very little regard for (education
being one of them) But since in his "current" existence he has spent
less time with martial arts - what did he regard more as being important?
Ranma's other past, or whatever you want to call it, will be exposed parts
at a time as he runs into situations in the future. His knowledge gap
concerning the other existence will prove to be *very* entertaining.
3. What happens when Happosai gets free? I know that this is too early
to ask (I love spoilers) but I just have to know especially with the
stories that Ranma made up.
I cannot spoil. Mainly because I haven't drafted that part yet. I'm trying
to see how much TNT-equivalence will occur as a result of Nodoka's encounter
with MegaHentai. <BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!>
4. Are you going to let Ranma also use his other techniques, like the
Hiryu-kourindan (sp?) ? If you don't know what I mean, please tell me.
If you're referring to HI RYU SHO TEN HA, I've already done it (although I
may have done it wrong. <sheepish grin> I based the outcome of the move on
the Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle game I have for the SNES. A column of light and a
vertically launched opponent...
5. Finally, how long will your story be?
The length is indefinite. I will continue to write as long as the story
doesn't deteriorate. With the volume of mail I'm receiving from readers on
the ML, the end is a far distance away. (Thanks people! ^_^ )
Those are all my questions. Please keep writing!! Ja ne.
Sure will. Keep reading! ^_-
