I forgot to finish this point... (sorry)

Due to the fact that Ranma's memories (and hence training skills) were
intact, he should be able to hold his own agains Ryouga (should a meeting
like that ever occur  ^_^ ).  That was the reasoning behind Ranko's training
of Ranma in Part one.  Ranma's mind knew moves that his body wasn't quite
prepared to execute.  Ranko's training was needed to attune Ranma's body to
his thoughts.
