It's sunsite.unc.edu.  The GNU archive can be found at prep.ai.mit.edu.  
You can locate other software using archie.

Heh.  Well, as long as everyone else is doing it, I throw in my vote for vi,
since it's excellent for just making quick changes in my programs, and most of
my time is spent debugging anyway...  Besides, I thought emacs was too
cumbersome to use... :)
