Hi Myke,

I am certainly not the most technically adept BGC fanfic author on the list,
but I believe the ribbons are used to slash and cut. They have a "monomolecular" cutting edge on them, that when used with a whipping action
can cut through metal pretty well (such as boomer limbs). Ask Jeanne, Bert or
Hitomi for the details :)
