Or how about the Ice Skating episodes? There, Akane would rather
sacrifice P-chan to Azusa rather than see Ranma iinjury himself more. I
think that Akane really does love Ranma, except that the both of them
have problems expressing it. It's just that Ranma lets it slip out more
often.
As for Ranma letting Akane pound on him, I think Akane knows that Ranma
often lets her pound him as an apology for putting his foot in his mouth.
IMHO, I think they're perfect for each other, if they can ever get past
the stubborn pride block that they put up when they first met.

I have always felt that she loves Ranma, but her emotions are more heavily
shielded than his. That's why she is seen to rebuff him when he tells her
how he feels IMHO.
