Preface
Ranma 1/2 and the characters in it are copyrighted by Rumiko
Takahashi. All other characters in this fanfic are copyrighted by
me (I think). Any use of them in electronic form requires that

do anything with it, as long as it is properly credited.
I got the idea for this story from "The Four Birds of Fire"
by Jorge Pratt, in the scene where Nodoka accepts Ranko as her
daughter. It was also inspired by all the other fanfics that deal with
a separate male Ranma and female Ranma. It is canonical with
the original manga until right before Nodoka appears (volume 22).
However, the part with the incense burner and the demon is as-
sumed to have already happened. (I get to do whatever I want.
HaHaHaHa! Not that it matters.)
Currently, this is an beta release version. Any corrections (spelling-
wise or story-wise) or suggestions are welcome.
This is formatted using LaTeX, so if you want the LaTeX source
files, e-mail me (wacko@power1.snu.ac.kr). It contains some com-
ments and some unused ideas (unused because either they don't fit
into the story-line, or I was too lazy to fit it in naturally) that aren't
included in the formatted release version, which is why I mention
this.
Prologue
Many years ago ...
"Please don't take away my babies!" the woman cried as her
husband, with a backpack, tried to walk out the door with their
children.
"Let go!" he said.
She hit him on the head with a shoe.
"Don't leave!" she shouted. But he didn't respond.
She hit him on the head with a bucket.
"Don't leave!" she shouted. But he didn't respond.
She hit him on the head with a coffee table.
"Don't leave!" she shouted. He collapsed.
As she took their little children, crying, into her arms, her hus-
band (bleeding and bruised) told her,
"My dear, the Anything Goes Martial Arts must be continued
by our children."
"Yes, but ...," she tried to say.
"But in order to train them correctly, you must sacrifice mater-
nal love! If you really care for our children's future, you must be
patient!"
"But you can't take both of them away!"
Her husband thought silently for a moment. Then he said,
"Then I will take only our son, and you will take care of our
daughter."
"But still ..."
He suddenly stopped her, held up their son and said, "I vow to
train our son into a man among men. And if I don't succeed, we
will commit seppuku!"
Then he wrote down on a piece of paper his vow of seppuku
as her wife watched. He signed it with his thumb-print, and then
they painted their son's hand with ink and let him sign it. (He put
his hand-print in the paper a great many times.) And, as a wife
of a martial artist, she believed in them, and was prepared, if their
son did not become "a man among men", to take on the role of
kaishakunin.
After that she was resigned to letting her husband take their
little son away.

Many years later, two Saotomes, named Ranma and Genma,
have their fateful meeting with the Tendos.
Chapter 1
Perverted Nerima
"Ranma!"
"Yikes! Go away, you kawaiikune tomboy!"
"Stay still, you jerk!"
"Nyaah, you can't catch me!"
"Why you ..."
Boom! Bang! Crash!
"Yaaahh!"
"Ranma! Stop running away and die like a man!"
Akane started to give chase.
"Waaahh! Our families will never be joined!"
"Do not worry, Tendo-san. We will find a way to join them
yet," the panda signed as he was building a dam around the crying
man with all the debris from Akane's malletting.

After a little while, Akane was running along the streets, pant-
ing.
"Where in the world is he? I'm going to kill him!"
Just then, she saw a pigtailed red haired girl walking ahead of
her, with her back facing Akane. As soon as Akane saw this,
"There you are! Stay still so I can beat you to pulp!"
Just as the red haired girl started to turn around to see what
was going on, Akane slammed down on her with her mallet. But in-
stead of the customary *thunk* "erk", she heard a *swish* *thunk*.
Bewildered, she saw that there was a very angry looking Ranma (fe-
male) in front of her, holding a very sharp sword towards her. She
also saw that her mallet has been sliced into two halves and were
lying beside Ranma.
`What's gone into Ranma's head this time?' Akane thought.
But before she had the chance to say anything, Ranma said, "What
do you think you're doing?" in a very menacing voice.
Akane, becoming unnerved by this, just said, "Ah, I think I'll
just be going to the dojo." She then backed off and started running
towards Dr. Tofu's.
"What a kawaiikune tomboy," the kimono-clad pigtailed red
haired girl said as Akane ran off.

"Dr. Tofu!"
Dr. Tofu was trying to apply some relaxation pressure points to
a patient when Akane suddenly barged in, and hit some excitation
pressure points instead. The patient suddenly bolted out of the
bed and began to move excitedly outside. Dr. Tofu sighed and
asked, "What brings you here this time? Ranma got hit on the
head again?"
"Um ..., actually, I think so."
"Think so what?"
"I think Ranma got hit on the head. He acted really funny a
little while ago."
She then began to explain what had happened. Dr. Tofu took
on a concerned expression and said, "Hmm. I think I'd better find
Ranma and take a look at him."

Meanwhile, Kuno Tatewaki was walking towards the Tendo dojo,
with the usual thoughts in his head.
`Today, I will finally free my Pig-tailed Goddess and Tendo
Akane from the clutches of the sorcerer Ranma. Nothing shall stand
in my way. I shall ...'
His worthy thoughts were interrupted when he saw his Pig-tailed
Goddess walking in front of him.
Glomp!
"Oh, my Pig-tailed Goddess! Today, I shall save thee from thy
evil enslaver!"
Smack!
"Get off me, you pervert!"
Despite the fact that the girl kept on hitting Kuno with a stick
(as far as he could tell from his position), he couldn't let go of her,
lest she never be able to escape the clutches of that evil sorcerer
again.
"My dear Pig-tailed Goddess, do not be afraid! I will protect
thee from that evil sorcerer!"
"I said, let go!"
Pow!
After sending Kuno to LEO, the girl muttered to herself, "What
was that weird pervert talking about? Nerima is sure a weird place.
I wonder how Sayuri will be able to live here." She sighed and went
off her way.

"Ranma, there you are!"
Ranma-chan was walking on the fence the way she always did.
She started to run when she heard Akane calling, but stopped when
she saw the concerned expression on Akane's face.
"Uh, is anything wrong?" she asked, hoping it wasn't some kind
of trap. Probably not, since Dr. Tofu was with her. But then you
never knew with a violent, unsexy tomboy like Akane.
"Do you feel alright?"
"Uh, yeah ..."
"Akane says that you threatened her with a katana," Dr. Tofu
said.
"Hey! I don't fight girls, and I don't threaten them either.
Anyways, Akane is too much of a violent tomboy to be threatened!"
Ranma said.
Akane started to glow. "Why, you ..."
"Oops."
Pow!
"Kawaiikune tomboy ..." Ranma-chan yelled as she flew away,
heading who knew where.
"I don't think anything is wrong with Ranma," Dr. Tofu said,
as he watched Ranma-chan's flying form grow smaller and smaller.
"But there was something wrong ...", Akane mumbled.
"Well, he certainly doesn't remember doing all that, and he
didn't do anything like that right now. There can be only two
things that could have happened. Either you're going crazy and
just imagined that it happened ..."
"Hey!"
"It's just a rather unlikely theory. The much more probable
explanation is ..."
Just then, disaster stroke.
"Oh, hello there, Akane, Dr. Tofu!"
"Why, Ka- Kasumi! How odd that I meet you here! I was just
taking Betty-chan to the clinic."
He grabbed a nearby stranger and started to dance away. Akane
sighed and turned to Kasumi.
"I'll help with those grocery bags."

Meanwhile, Ranma-chan was flying through the air.
"What did she do that for? It's not as if it's not true," she
muttered to herself. She took a look at where she was landing. A
red haired girl was right on the landing zone.
"Look out!"
The figure started to look around for the source of the warning.
Unfortunately, she didn't look up.
"Oof!"
Ranma-chan and the other girl got up. Ranma-chan started to
ask if the girl was alright. But when they got a good look at each
other,
"Aaahh!" both shouted.
`It's the demon! It's the demon! It's the ...,' Ranma-chan kept
on thinking, too shocked to say it aloud. But before she could turn
around and run away,
"It's a demon!" the demon yelled, and then she pulled out a
very sharp looking katana.
"How dare you take my form. Die!"
The girl started to attack her with the very sharp katana, a
katana that looked like it could cut through steel very easily, a
katana that could certainly cut through humans without difficulty,
a katana ...
"Aahh!" Ranma-chan yelled and did the only thing that could
be done.
She ran away.
"Stop! You're not going to run away so easily!"
"Help! Go away! I don't want to die!"
They ran and ran through Nerima, knocking several people out
of the way. Actually, Ranma-chan was knocking people out of the
way, and the other girl was chasing her through the path Ranma-
chan cleared for her. Anyways, they ran, and they passed a sign
saying "RADIUM SPRING CONSTRUCTION". Of course, no one
cared, not until Ranma-chan stepped on something that had the sign
"HOT SPRING WATER MAIN - DO NOT STEP" next to it.
Whoosh!
"Whoa!" Ranma yelled as the water propelled him away.
"What was that? What's going on here? A girl attacks me with
a hammer, a weird pervert, a demon that looks like me ... What
next? Sheesh, I need to get out of here before it's too late!"
The red haired girl then started to run home as fast as she could.
