I

noticed that one of the Fanfic worlds favourite cliches,
	Too true. Ppl out there that write Ranma fanfics, 
do you know anyone that when they told someone that they loved
him/her, that they never fought again? That no one else
ever tried to break them up? If Ranma and Akane don't
eer fight again after they've 'confessed' I'll be disapointed-
it's how they communicate, I guess. (And if anyone calls me a hypocrite-
I'm not! I'm not planning to do that in any of my fanfics,
and if it looks as if I will -I promise you, I won't!)

On two occasions in the series that I could find, the "Nabiki iinazuke" and

"Mariko the Cheerleader" stories, Ranma has said, in front of witnesses
and where Akane can hear him, that he loves Akane.  Both situations were (of
course) mistakes, but Akane never knew that.  Ranma never denied his
statement, even after he got over the shock caused by realising what he
had done.
	Is that so? When Ranma started jumping all over the place, crying
out 'It's a lie!' in the Nabiki no inazuke storyline, dwouldn't
that be considerd denying it. And he told her right afterwards
that it had been a mistake, to boot!I don't know what she said (Ranma
was a girl the second time he 'told' her) during the Cheerleader
storyline, but right afterwards Ranma started jumping all over the place
again, waving her hands ala miss.Hinako, exclaming something. Akane
got miffed, and she started to fight with Ranma-chan again.
	And it's not always Akane's fault, either, for not returning
the 'affection'.... when Akane got an outfit that gave her lots
of fighting skills (she beat Ranma over and over), Ranma found
out there were only two ways to destroy the outfit (or clothes-chan,
as Akane called it, I think); one was to hit this button on the belt
and the other was to 'seduce' the user. Ranma did try at first
to hit the belt instead, but he eventually got desperate enough
to try to convince Akane to burry the outfit instead. Ranma
uses the exuse that because of the outfit, he can't get close to
her anymore (the outfit is kinda like a foot-less, head-less and
hand-less person; it likes girls, particularly Akane's type, and
would boot Ranma away when he sat next to her at lunch, and such).
Akane, touched, agreed to do it; and she got VERY pissed at
Ranma when she found out his real purposes for getting rid of
the outfit. Problem is, when talking to her, Ranma was surprised-
again- to find out that she's cute (WHy is he always so surprised
when she gets cute?), and found out himself that he did not
like always being booted away from Akane's side, and felt incredibly
awful for using Akane like that. Of course, when he tried to
tell this to Akane she wouldn't listen.... ^_^

Akane doing anything tangible to follow up

on Ranma's (accidental) declaration of love.
	Not quite. Once, when she thought that she were Ranma were
fated to be together (it's long, but has something to do with
eating some type of food cooked by her and deciding who you're
fated for by what appears on the eater's face) she was very,
very happy- we see her smiling and humming, later on feeding
Ranma food she had cooked. Don't know if she ever found out
that the 'test' results were never found out, and only by accident
did Ranma prove to be the one for her. :)

As far as I can tell Akane has never said *ANYTHING* to Ranma to make him

think that she likes him.
	Neither has Ranma; it's by their actions do they show
any affection; kinda like 'Their words say one thing, but their actions
say another'. :) She's always getting jealous of him, 
trying to make something Ranma would like, even admitted
in the Nbaiki no inazuke line that she wanted to go back the
way they were... 

Ranma's

fault, he has (however accidentally) revealed his love to Akane
	Like I said above, he denied it vehemently; but from
his reaction to Shinosuke and Akane, how he protects her and
sometimes cheers her up, we see it. Never, ever (to my knowledge
anyway) is it stated that Ranma and Akane love each other-
but it's so darn obvious that anyone can tell. 
	
	I also don't think that it's all Ranma's fault- I know
he's dealing with all thses fiancees (from what I've heard,
a blind date is bad enough- how about a blind fiancee?), 
enemies and crazed relatives better than I could ecer hope.
Nor do I think it's Akane's fault.
