This was originally called "The Pig-tailed Goddesses" (some of you
might remember it as "YARF"), but I like the current title better.
It is canonical with the original manga until right before Nodoka
appears (volume 22). However, the part with the incense burner and
the demon is assumed to have already happened. (I get to do whatever
I want. HaHaHaHa! Not that it really matters.)
Currently, this is a beta release version. Any corrections (spelling-
wise or story-wise) or suggestions are welcome.

Chapter 2
I am not a girl!
Genma was in panic.
"Ranma! We have to leave here now!"
"Pop, let go of me!"
Whack!
"Gee, I wonder what happened this time?" Ranma said after
knocking his father outside.
"He started to panic when I told him that your mother was
coming over," Kasumi said.
"Mother?"
"Your mother called that she was going to visit here."
"My mother is coming? I hardly remember her ... Why should
Pop panic about that anyways?"
"There is no time for questions, son! We must leave now!"
Genma had sneaked back in undetected. He grabbed Ranma
and ran outside.
"Hey! Let go!"
Ranma managed to get loose.
"At least you should explain to me on what's going on!"
"Don't you understand? There is no time!"
"Ha, I'm not moving outside the dojo until you tell me!"
"You leave me no choice ..."
Genma and Ranma fight and end up in the pond.
"OK. I will tell you why you must not meet your mother," the
panda signed. Ranma-chan waited impatiently.
"I promised her that if you did not become a man inside out
...,"
Ranma-chan waited some more as the panda scribbled something
more on his sign.
"that we would commit seppuku!"
"You promised what!" Ranma-chan screamed.
"I had no choice! It was the only way she would let me train
you!"
"Why, I should kill you! How could you do such a thing!"
The sounds of a screaming panda could be heard all across Ner-
ima.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Why did Dad make such a stupid promise? Why did he take
me to Jusenkyo? Why did he have to throw me into that stupid
spring? Why did ...," Ranma-chan kept on mumbling as she went
upstairs to take a bath.
After he went upstairs, someone started to knock on the door.
Kasumi came out of the kitchen and opened the door.
"Oh, my, you must be Ranma's mother. I'm Tendo Kasumi."
The kimono-clad woman, who seemed to be carrying a stick
wrapped in cloth, in front of her answered, "Yes, I'm Ranma's
mother, Saotome Nodoka. Is Genma and Ranma here?"
"They are ..."
Crash!
"Get out of the bathroom, you pervert!" Akane yelled upstairs.
"I was going out, so what did you do that for, you uncute,
sexless, unfeminine tomboy?!?"
"Why you ..."
Akane reached into hammerspace. But before she could take a
mallet out and whack Ranma, a woman (Nodoka, though Akane
doesn't know that yet) had come up and grabbed Ranma-chan by
the arm.
"Masako! How can you say things like that? What happened
to your clothes, and why are you soaking wet?"
"Uh ..."
"Oh well, we'll have to go home."
Before Akane or Ranma-chan could react, the woman had already
dragged Ranma-chan to the door.
"We would love to stay longer, but I think Masako needs to be
disciplined right now. We will visit again. Good bye," Nodoka said
to Kasumi.
"Please come again," Kasumi said, and Nodoka left with a very
confused looking Ranma-chan.
"What happened?" Akane asked Kasumi, coming downstairs
after recovering from her shock.
"Oh, that was Ranma's mother," Kasumi answered.
"Ranma's mother? But she called Ranma Masako ..."
"You must have heard wrong, Akane."
"But why did she ... Oh, never mind. I don't care what happens
to that pervert anyways," Akane said, deciding the whole thing was
too confusing.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
`What's going on? Who is this lady anyways?' Ranma-chan
thought as she silently followed the lady, not knowing what else to
do.
"Masako, why did you behave like that back there?" the lady
said.
"Uh ...," Ranma-chan said outwardly, while inwardly he thought,
`Huh? Who's Masako?'
"I really wanted to meet Ranma and Genma again, but your be-
havior was intolerable! Well, we'll be able to meet them tomorrow,
after I make sure you won't act like that again."
"Ranma?" Ranma-chan said, confused. Wasn't he Ranma?
"Ah, I haven't seen my son and husband in 15 years. But we
couldn't meet them when you were acting like that. What would
your father think of you?"
`Huh? What is she talking about? Is she ... is she my mother?
No, she can't be! She's too pretty to marry a monster like Pop!
But still ...' Ranma-chan thought. "Is Ranma your son?"
"Masako, what's wrong with you? Of course he is," the lady
said, looking concerned. "Did you eat something bad?"
`She is my mother! But who's this Masako she keeps calling
me?'
"But I'm not ..."
`Wait, what did Dad say? That we would have to commit sep-
puku if I didn't become a man inside out? Oh no, I can't tell her
that I'm Ranma like this!'
"Uh, I'm OK." I think, Ranma-chan didn't say.
"Hmm ... I think you should see a doctor after dinner."
"Uh ..."
"Don't argue, Masako. I know that you hate hospitals, but
something seems to be very wrong with you, and we shouldn't take
any chances."
"Uh ..."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
At the Tendo Dojo.
"You promised what!?!" the Tendos, excepting Kasumi, yelled
at Genma. Kasumi only said, "Oh, my!"
"If Ranma's mother finds out about his curse, Ranma will have
to commit seppuku, and then he won't be able to marry Akane!"
"Daddy!"
`Hmm ... This sounds like a great opportunity to make a lot
of money. Though Ranma would have to stay alive for maximum
profit.'
"You have to rescue Ranma from Nodoka before it's too late!"
Genma said.
Everyone stared at him.
"What about you? This is all your fault!" Akane said.
"Haha, me? Ah, surely, you don't want me to walk to my death,
do you?" Genma said, sweating.
"Are you going to forsake your son!" an angry Tendo Soun said.
Genma took a glass of water and poured it on himself.
"Son? I don't have a son. I'm only a panda," he signed.
"You're incorrigible!" Akane yelled as she kicked the panda out
the front door. Soun would have cried for his broken door if he
hadn't been already crying about Ranma's probable death.
The Tendos could see that someone had nearly been flattened
by Genma's flight. It was Ranma-chan, standing just outside the
broken front door, surveying the damage with a funny look on her
face.
"Nice dress you're wearing," Nabiki said, noticing that Ranma-
chan was wearing a kimono.
"Uh, thanks. Is mother here?" Ranma-chan asked. But before
anyone could answer,
"Ranma no baka!" Akane yelled and smashed her with her
mallet instinctively. Actually, she tried to smash her, but the red
haired girl had sliced her mallet just like the day before.
`What? She's acting just like yesterday! Where did she get that
dress and katana anyways?' Akane thought.
The red haired girl thought `What? It's that violent tomboy
again! Wait, did she call me Ranma? Then, was the demon I saw
actually my brother? Then ... Nah. That was a girl, and a brother
is a boy, I think. I must have heard wrong. Where is ...'
Her thoughts were cut off when everyone started to close on her,
asking a continuous stream of questions.
"Ranma! How could you do that to Akane!"
"Ranma, how much are you willing to pay to stop Akane from
killing you?"
"Ranma, I hope you didn't miss dinner?"
"Ranma, you jerk, how dare you do that!"
"Aaahh! Leave me alone! I'm not Ranma! I don't know her,
and I don't care who she is! Go away!" the red haired girl yelled,
and proceeded to swing the katana wildly, forcing everyone to back
off.
"Ranma! What is wrong with you?" Soun asked cautiously.
"I said I'm not Ranma! Aaahh!" the red haired girl shouted
and promptly ran away.
"Growf," a panda growfed as it came in a little while later.
"Ranma's gone crazy and it's all your fault!" Akane and Soun
said and proceeded to clobber the poor thing.
"Who are you clobbering?" another panda signed as it came in.
"Oops. Wrong panda."
Nerima was again rocked by the screams of a panda.

Meanwhile, Nodoka and Ranma-chan had reached home. Ranma-
chan was led into a room.
"Stay in bed while I prepare dinner," Nodoka said as she laid
out a futon. She then went out of the room.
Ranma-chan took a look at the room. It was pretty simple. A
closet, a bookshelf, and a desk. Some of the books on the bookshelf
were vaguely familiar. (They're the same textbooks he uses at
school, except he hardly looks at them.)
`What am I looking at? I should get out of here.'
She got out of the room, tiptoed across the entrance to the
kitchen where her mother was cooking, and sneaked out an open
window, fearing that opening the door might alarm her mother.
Looking back at the house, she thought, `I'm sorry, mother, but
I just can't show myself to you like this.' She looked around, found
a nearby fence, leapt on it, and began walking back to the dojo.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
`I didn't hear wrong. That tomboy did call me Ranma. What
kind of name is that for a girl? And I thought she was my brother.
What a coincidence! Not only that girl looks just like me, she
also has the same name as my brother! Just unbelievable, just
unbelievable. Mother must have been heartbroken,' the red haired
girl who looked just like Ranma-chan thought to herself as she
walked home.
`Darn! I was right in front of Mom, and I couldn't tell her that
I was her son because of that stupid promise. It's all Dad's fault!
I wonder what panda meat would taste like,' Ranma-chan thought
as she walked to the dojo.
`I wonder where that girl is,' the red haired girl thought.
`I wonder who this Masako is,' Ranma-chan thought.
The red haired girl heard something moving on the fence.
Ranma-chan heard someone walking on the sidewalk.
They looked at what was there, and saw themselves.
`It's that girl again!' the red haired girl thought.
`Uh oh, I'd better get out of here before she kills me!' Ranma-
chan thought. She started to turn around.
"Wait! Are you Ranma?" the other girl asked before Ranma-
chan started to run away.
`She knows my name! Maybe she's not trying to kill me,'
Ranma-chan thought. Outwardly, she said, "Yeah."
"Um, hi, I'm Masako," the other girl said.
`She's Masako? No wonder mother thought I was her!' Ranma-
chan thought.
"Uh, I'm sorry that I tried to kill you yesterday. I thought you
were a demon or something," Masako said.
`Yeah, right,' Ranma-chan thought. "Um, it's OK," she said
and jumped down from the fence.
"It's just unbelievable that you look just like me," Masako said.
"Yeah."
"Not only that, but I have a brother named Ranma, which makes
it even more incredible. How did a girl like you get a boy's name
like Ranma, anyways?"
`Brother? Then maybe she's my sister. That would explain ...
Wait, she called me a girl!' Ranma-chan thought. "I am not a
girl!"
Masako took a good long look at Ranma-chan. She then poked
her breasts.
"Hmm ... You're a girl anyway I look at it," Masako said.
"Am not. Follow me," a very red faced Ranma-chan said,
grabbing Masako's wrist.
"Hey, that hurts! Where do you think you're taking us, any-
ways?"
Ranma-chan dragged Masako into a nearby restaurant. She
grabbed a cup of hot water and went back out, again dragging
Masako with her.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" a burly man coming
out from the restaurant demanded to know. "Give that cup back!"
Pow!
"Leave us alone!" Ranma-chan yelled at the guy who was now
flying away.
"You know, you shouldn't punch people away when all they're
asking is to have their cup back," Masako said with a disapproving
look on her face.
"Never mind about him. Look carefully," Ranma-chan said,
and poured the contents of the cup on himself.
"What do you ... What? You changed into a boy!" exclaimed
an astonished Masako.
"I'm Saotome Ranma, a boy, not a girl. I have this cur-"
*Thunk*
"-se ... Great, she fainted. Now what do I do?"
Ranma piggybacked the now unconscious Masako and picked
up her katana with his right hand.
`I'd better take her to her home. Uh, I think I forgot where it
was,' Ranma thought. `But I can't just leave her here. Oh well, I'd
better take her to the dojo.'
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Everyone was sitting silently, worrying about Ranma. Everyone,
that is, except for Genma, who was still quite unconscious. Being
beat up twice in one day was not something one woke up quickly
from.
"Open the door!" Ranma yelled just outside the door.
"That baka is finally here," Akane muttered to herself and got
up to open the door.
"Ranma, where have you been all day!" Akane said as she
opened the door. What she saw aggravated her even more.
"Ranma, who's that? Not another fiance?" Akane asked and
began to pull out a mallet. Soun started crying in the background.
"Wait!" Ranma said.
"What?" Akane asked, and took a better look at the girl Ranma
was carrying.
"Eep," was all Akane managed to say as she fell down back-
wards.
"What's the matter, Akane?" Nabiki asked and took a closer
look at Ranma and the girl he had piggybacked.
"Gah," was her initial reaction. A split second later, she thought,
`This is going to make me a fortune,' and smiled.
Meanwhile, Soun had stopped crying, and puzzled by Akane
and Nabiki's reaction, Kasumi and Soun also took a closer look.
Soun started to cry again. Kasumi asked,
"Ranma, why are there two of you?"
"She's not me. I think she's my sister," Ranma said.
Everyone stopped doing what they were doing.
"Sister?" everyone asked.
"Uh, yeah. She fainted when she found about my stupid curse.
What should I do with her now?"
"I think she should rest in my room. I'll look after her during
the night," Kasumi volunteered.
"Hey! Just wait a minute! Ranma, you never said you had a
sister!" Akane said.
"Uh, I never knew, either. Just a minute," Ranma said.
He went into Kasumi's room, laid Masako on Kasumi's bed and
the katana next to it, and came back out. He then approached
where Genma was lying unconscious.
"Pop, wake up!" Ranma yelled.
No response.
"Pop, I need to ask you something!"
Still no response.
"Hello, Mom, nice to see you here!"
"Wha- What! Where?! Oh, darling, forgive me, oh, spare me!"
Genma cried as he got up and hid under a little cusion on the other
side of the room, trembling.
"Pop, Mom's not here," Ranma flatly said.
"Oh? Uh ..." Genma said, looking around uncertainly.
"Who's Masako?"
"Masako? She's your sister, of course," Genma said in a matter
of fact way.
"What do you mean, `of course'? You never told me! Do I have
any other brother or sister?" Ranma said angrily.
"Uh, no," Genma nervously said.
"Good," Ranma said, and promptly punted Genma into GEO.

OK, this is the end of chapter 2. Is it going uphill or downhill
(assuming anyone remembers the last chapter)? And comments are always
welcome. (Anyone hate the name Masako?)
(You don't have to e-mail me directly anymore since I'm back on the
fanfic ML. Yay!)
