You bet. Not only did he or she cover a lot of fanfics, giving me a
couple of interesting leads, he actually _gave supporting details_. There
was more thought in that post than in some fanfics.
The reviews were well-thought out, but I wish the guy had kept them private
with the authors. Plus the whole "best of" thing is kind of
annoying...writing fanfics shouldn't be competetive, but quarterly
reviews of the top fanfics, that "best fanfic '95" poll, and stuff like
that encourages people to write fanfics for recognition. For example, there
was one story I *LOVED*, but the reminders to vote for it in the best
fanfic poll, and the seemed rush to get it out in time for voting
cheapened the story for me. I wondered "Is the author making the best story
he can, or is he making the most popular story he can get out in time
for voting?"
Jeff no like that. Bad Bad.
Plus, I agree with White Wolf. I never heard of this guy before, he
doesn't write fanfic, so why is he presenting himself as an authority?
Just my 2.024 yen,
Jeff
