Prince Humperdink, for all his faults, was a master soldier, 
stratetician, and gamesman.  He would be just as likely as Wesley, if not 
more likely than Wesley, to identify the Iocan powder.  My thought is that 
perhaps Iocan powder has a unique chemical reaction with the contents of the 
glass; this is the odor Prince Humperdink detects.
