If you wanted to splice this into the canonical version, you could
omit all mention of the daughter until Genma and Ranma walk out the
door, and then have Nodoka console herself by saying something to the
effect "I still have young <insert name> to raise...."

Later:

Ranma: (change to Ranma vocabulary): "You mean, not only have
you estranged me from my mom, you never told me I have a sister?"

Genma: Uh, well, you see ... that is....

Well written, interesting premise---depends on where you take it.
RIght now it's got a somewhat serious undertone (your emphasis on the
katana and it's sharpness, perhaps).

   Now, if you feel like it, I'd like some answers to the following
   questions.

   2. Vote for your favorite candidate for Ranma's sister's name.

      Ranko - Considered because of the obvious reason. I do like the
	      name, but it's an ad-hoc name, after all.

Not if you keep it in the original timeline; otherwise it's fine.

      Akiko - The little girl that appears in Kimagure Orange College
	      #18. I think she would be very cute if she were actually
	      drawn as a manga character.

Sounds perhaps too nice to my ear for this character....

   3. Anyone want to suggest a better title? The current one is really
      lame, though slightly better than the original one.

Actually not a bad title at all.

   4. And, of course, anything you want to see in the story? I have a
      vague idea of where I should head, but I don't know much about what
      will happen in between.

Hmmm: lots of Takahashi chaos, a lighter tone, at least for a while,
Ranma awkwardly accepting her as a sister.  Perhaps she could end up
rooming at the dojo for a while; Akane's interactions with her could
be *very* interesting....  If she got a crush on Ryouga for a while
that would also prove to be lots of fun....  Or you could put her into
the U-chan/Konatsu situation; that has *lots* of possibilities,
depending on how long it takes her to figure out U-chan is a girl, and
that Konatsu is a not....
