Yet another Sailor Moon fanfic.. Hey atleast it isn't Ranma 1/2.
=) So read it(that's an order =)) and tell me what you think, don't
think and how badly they're out of character. Etc etc yadda yadda blah
blah blah..
Sailor Moon
Tragedy or Apology
Part 1
"Darien..." she said struggling to breath while Darien strangled her
with one hand, "Why are you doing this?" desperatly fighting unconciousness.
"Because I don't like weak girls!" he said with a coldness in his
voice and eyes she had never seen before as he threw near the edge of the
roof
then bent over to pick up the star locket she had dropped.
"Remember Darien, when you gave that to me?" she said struggling to
get to her face and tears streaming down her face.
"I wonder what I saw in you?" he said as he crushed the locket in
his hand and let the pieces drop to the floor. Then walked over to her
grabbing her by the neck again and lifting her of the ground then holding her
over the edge of the roof. "Any last words?" he said mockingly.
"Please Darien... Don't do this." she pleaded desperatly, "I love
you."
He mearly grinned and pulled out a black rose that he put in her
hair. "Goodbye Serena." he said as he released his grip and blew her a kiss
as she dropped.
"AAHHHHHHH" Serena jolted awake and immediatly buried her face
in her
hands and began to sob.
"Whats the matter?" Luna asked consolingly as she hopped onto the
bed..
"Darien loves me doesn't he?" Serena asked Luna as she reached for
the star locket on the end table.
"I don't know Serena." she said softly with a worried look in her
eye, "I just don't know."
She opened the locket and let it play its song for a bit then closed
it as she lied back in her bed and cried herself to sleep holding the ockett
tightly in her hand.
"Poor girl." Luna thought as she curled up to sleep at the foot of
the bed.
* * *
"Rubeus, I am not pleased. You have not made any progress and in
fact cost me the four sisters!" Wiseman said forcefully while looking into
his crystal orb.
"It's not my fault." Rubeus replied trying to hide the
uneasieness in
his voice, "It's those Sailor Scouts they turned them against us."
"Your own incompetence turned them against us." Wiseman said with
anger growing in his voice, "I will give you this final chance Rubeus!" then
waveing his had a necklace with a green amulet appeared around Rubeus's
neck. "This will prevent the Sailor Scouts from retaining their powers when
near it."
"I shall not fail you this time." Rubeus stated as he examined the
amulet.
"If you do, you will not have time to worry about." the Wiseman
replied as he disappeared.
"I shall destroy the Sailor Scouts and capture a star point."
chuckled Rubeus as he turned to leave through a mirror.
* * *
"Hurry up Serena, we're going to be late for the scout meeting."
Luna
said while jumping up onto a fence.
"Yeah yeah." Serena said picking up her pace a little, "It's not
like they're expecting me on time anyway, they should know me better then
that by now."
"Well it couldn't hurt showing up on time for once you know." Luna
replied in her motherly fashion.
Serena was about to respond but spotted Darien walking down the
street toward her. "Darien." Serena said waving to him and managing the best
smile she could.
"Oh Hi." he responded nonchalontly as he walked past her.
"Guess he doesn't feel like talking." Serena said sadly as she
watched Darien leave her sight around the corner. "Luna?" she said glancing
around wondering where she went to. Then turned and continued walking to
Rei's temple.
* * *
"MEOWWRRR" Luna hissed as she came out of no where leaving a slash
across Dariens face with her claws.
"OUCH" Darien yelled bringing his hand to his face, "What was that
for?"
"For the way you've been treating Serena." Luna scolded, "How can
you keep doing this to her, don't you feel anything?"
"I know she's hurting." Darien said wiping some blood of his cheek,
"But it's over between us."
"Then talk to her, give her some closure... tell her why." she
pleaded.
"N... Fine, send her over tonight it doesn't really matter." he
said
reluctantly. As he started to walk away he winced in pain as the vision of
something happening to Serena went through his head.
"Are you ok?" Luna asked seeing this?
"I'm fine." he said compossing himself slightly and continueing on
his way.
* * *
Serena was greeted in unison by the scouts as she arrived at tehe
temple except for Rei, "Can't you ever show up on time?"
"Stick a sock in it Rei." Serena retorted solemnly.
"Don't you two ever stop?" Lita question.
"Not till she shows up on time for once." Rei said looking at
Serena.
"And not until she keeps her big mououth shut." added Serena.
"Enough you two." Ami said accessing her computer, "We have have
business to discuss."
"Wait a minute." Artemis broke in, "Where's my sweety Luna?"
"Right here." Luna said as she seemingly came out of nowhere and
smacked Artemis across the head.
"Poor Artemis." Mina said patting her cat on the head who wasn't
liking it to much.
[Insert meaningless Scout meeting conversation here.]
"Come on Luna, lets go the arcade." Serena said to Luna as they left
the temple.
"The arcade? Can't we go somewhere else instead?" Luna asked.
"Nope." she said and continued walking in the direction of the
arcade.
"Serena, wait a minute." Luna said, "Darien will talk to you
tonight." her voice trailing off at the end.
"Tonight? And he won't run away useing some lame excuse like
always?"
"No I don't think so, he said at his place."
"I have to get ready." Serena said hopefully, "Maybe he'll take me
back."
"No, I don't think so." Luna replied trying to bring Serena back to
reality.
"Well, I can hope." she said and started running home to get ready.
* * *
"I have finally located another star point." Rubeus chuckled, "Ann
old abandoned warehouse down by the docks. It will be the perfect trap for
those scouts."
* * *
Serena hesitated to knock on the door as she worked up the courage
inside her to do so. Her thoughts were tangled and worried but with prodding
from Luna she finally managed to.
"Serena!" Darien said slightly surprised, "I didn't expect you so
early."
"Oh, I could come back later." she said trying to avoid eye contact
with him.
"No, now is fine." he said opening thedoor wider to allow her in
then shutting it before Luna could follow. "I'll get you some tea." he said
leaving for the kitchen.
"Ok" she said as she walked into the living room. She glanced
around
the room her eyes falling upon a paper with a number of things circled on it.
Looking closer she realized they were places for rent. "Darien, your helping
a friend look for a place to rent?" she asked hopefully, her already
shattered
heart feeling as it was about to be crushed some more.
"No, it's for me." he replied continueing to prepare the tea.
"Darien!" she said urgently rushing up to him about to wrap her arms
around him but deciding it might not be best. "Don't go... Not because of
me."
she said hopelessly fighting back tears, "I won't bother you anymore,
I promise." she pleaded.
Darien just stood there, torn between his need to reach out to her
and take her in and his need to keep her safe, which ment keeping her away
from him.
"I promise." she said taking the star locket out of her pocket that
the meer sight of destroyed her emotionaly. "Here." she said placing it into
Dariens hand, "It hurts to much anyway." and ran crying out of his place
before he could react.
He watched her run out of his place then turned his eyes toward the
locket she had placed in his hand. He stood there staring at it for minutes
before finally stirring for the door grabbing his jacket on the way out where
he was met by Luna waiting for him.
"What did you say to her?" Luna asked angrily.
"I don't have time to explain." he said urgently, "Which way did she
go?"
"Toward the docks." Luna replied noting the worried look on Dariens
face. "Why?"
Not responding to her last question he quickly went down the stairs
from his place and headed in the direction of the docks with Luna following
closely behind.

"Does he hate me so much he's willing to move to just get away from
me?" Serena thought to herself as she stopped and leaned against a pole. She
looked around wondering where she was when she spotted Rubeus going into one
of the warehouses. "Come on Serena, toughin up." she said to herself as she
dried her eyes and try'd to stop crying, "There's work to do."
"Hurry up guys, get down to the docks." Serena said into her
communicator, "I'm gonna need some help."
"What, can't handle a little Droid?" Rei asked sarcasticly.
"Sure I can, but Rubeus is a bit tougher." Serena replied as she put
away her communicator.
"Moon Star.... POWER!" Serena shouted and transformed into
Sailor
Moon then rushing into the warehouse she saw Rubeus enter.
"I am Sa.. AUGH!" Serena grabbed her head in pain, "Whats
happening?" as the amulet of Rubeus's forced her back to Serena.
"And I was wondering how I would draw you here." Rubeus said as he
unleashed his attack and blasted her into the wall.
She wiped blood from the corner of her mouth and struggled to
get to her feet, every movement threatened her unconsciousness. "You may
kill me, but you'll never succeed." she said as she dropped to one knee.
