On a more serious writing note, I haven't really been able to find much on the
symbolism of the hanafuda card plants. If anyone can help me out with some
notes on:
wisteria (fuji)
iris (shobu)
tree peony (botan)
bush clover (hagi)
pampas grass (susuki)
chrysanthemum (kiku)
maple (momiji)
rain plants (ame)
paulownia (kiri)
All I really need are some notes about how the plants fit symbolically or some
note about them. [e.g. plum (ume) - first flowering fruit plant of the year
==> symbolizes new life, new start, etc.] Please send it to
polaris@interpac.net
