Panda,

    A contest. Hmmmmmmm.........   good idea. There are more than enough 
stories at ftp.std.com. How would they be submitted to the judges? Who would 
they be?

Hey Fozz!

The archived stories makes for an interesting question- there might be a
voting category for the archived stories as well as a category for new
stories for the first contest. Then switch to the new stories only format for the
next year . . . Seems only fair.
But I'm wondering if there isn't some way to combine this into a contest that
encompasses all the various fanfics . . .

As for judges, well, the readers could be the judges like in the Ranma contest.
A list of categories and qualifying entries (via a deadline and maybe nominations). Each person then emails their votes to one email address.
