What about the original creator? A fanfict is a derivative work, what
if anything can and should be done for the protection of a Rumiko Takahashi?

Surely if you put a disclaimer in your story, you shouldn't have to worry 
about being sued by the original creator?

I did on my 'fic, but if anyone else wants to claim it, I can't 
physically stop them, so I don't worry.
