Hi Damon,
I "just" got through reading the two chapters you posted to the raas.
Also checked out the prologue.
After scanning the first chapter, I noticed it was something I had
already read, but seemed confusing before. I just read it again.
Comments? Well...
The prologue kinda helps if the reader read Vol 2. Why? Because vol 2
seemed to kinda... well... take on a Voyager(tm) kinda mood... only
the would-be captain isn't quite so domineering... (sp?)
I found Vol-1 to be of great interest... I had expected him to stay with
Weya and live with her... with the request for the fins and all and how
they can communicate via their gear...
Vol-2 seemed to get _real_ deep into the angst bit... frustration
comes to mind...
I get the impression (and I hope I'm wrong), that the rest of the series
might be like vol-2 where he goes and "fathers" and "mothers" the little
earth-like dying or troubled worlds... *shiver* "just like" ST or STNG
or *more shivers* Voyager... -_-
But nice ship.... at least what little was mentioned of it. I really
didn't get the imagery of something sleek, powerful, and blue...
I rather got the impression of some "thing" like the 'Heart of gold'
from HitchHikker's Guide to the Galaxy... something shiny and
in-describable and powerful and soon to be out-dated by a flying/moving
resturaunt... -_-
Nice scenes with Kerin/Damon and Weya/Damon, but most of the other parts
seemed to be centered around his need to kill himself. *sigh* Blue
seems to fit there... ^_-
Other than that, I like the concept of salvaging tech from other worlds,
but the crew seemed to have everything done so "perfectly"... of course,
the tales of crews that "failed" are never told, now are they? *smile*
Anyways... I found the character Weya to be touching, if brief.
