It be pointless to do this anyway , as it seem's some one else is ready 
to make a rec..... newsgroup for this type of discussion .

Ok, you win.  I'm not gonna do it .

I think this ML could survive if there was a newsgroup because the ML has 
one advantge over any newsgroup , It allows Fan-fic's to be read before they 
hit the net . I don't think I would use a Fan-fic discussion group to post 
beta's of any of my Fan-fic's (to many reader's for beta's) . Besides you 
would lose the sometime's lovable , slightly funny , and mostly annoying 
spam that ML memeber's can't get enough of .....
