Yep, it's *really* that bad.  (The English version that is, the Japanese 
original is really quite good)   I congratulate you for making it this far
without having heard Minmei sing :>

Okay, so there are a couple of songs where Reba West got a little out of
hand, but as a whole.... <looks around guiltily>  I kinda like the
Minmei songs.  <Runs away and hides in shame>.
