			         Part 1:
			        Rewind

Early moring, light fog envelopes the campus city of Nekomi.
Overlooking the city is a large Japanese temple. Out of the fog, a
mysterious woman walks up to the temple and pushes a package
into its mailbox.
"Ha...hahahaha.... This will screw those two idiots double.
Ha... hahahaha." She laughs as she disappears into the fog again....

		                      -----

"Belldandy...." Belldandy puts down her teacup and looks at
Keiichi standing in the doorway, he is carrying a package, "I found
this in the mailbox. Its for us." He passes the package to her.
She looks at it. Sure enough, it is addressed to "Belldandy
and Keiichi" she frowns.
"But that can't be right..." she says as Keiichi sits down next
to her.
"Hmm... And why not?" he asks.
"Well... I don't think there is anyone who would address
something to _both_ of us. It should be for either you or me, but
why both?"
Keiichi smiles, "So you think there's something strange about
it?"
Belldandy thinks for a while, "Hmm... could be."
"That's what I thought too." Keiichi tells her, "That's why I
brought it to you first. I figured if it was a trap, you might be able
to do something about it."
Keiichi watches in fascination as a ball of light forms in her
hands. Unlike her sisters, Belldandy didn't use her magic very
often. When she did, it was usually quite...... impresive.
As she uses her detection spell on it, Belldandy learns that
there is a rather nasty piece of magic attached to the package. Not
fatal but definitely not pleasant either.
Suddenly the package glows. As sudden as it came, the glow
disappears. "I disarmed it. It should be safe now." Belldandy tells
Keiichi, "It was a stink spell. If we had opened earlier, we would
have smelled like rotten fish for a whole month."
Relieved, Keiichi laughs a little, "Must have been Marller
again."
Belldandy smiles too, "You're probably right, although we
have no direct proof for it." She unwraps the package, "Let's see
what's inside." Keiichi helps her.
Beneath the wrappings is a wooden box. Cautiously they open
the box and look inside. There is a big blue gem set in a black disc
covered with runes.
"Is this some kind of magical artifact?" Keiichi asks
Belldandy.
It looks familiar, Belldandy thinks. Just then, the gem
crackles with energy and the runes start glowing. She realises what
it is-
	"Oh no, Keiichi-"
Too late. A blue sphere envelopes the two, crackling with
energy. It disappears shortly after, Belldandy and Keiichi slump to
the floor.

				-----

Hearing their screams, Urd and Skuld come rushing into the
living room.
	"Oneesama!" Skuld cries.
	"Keiichi!" Urd exclaims.
Belldandy and Keiichi are sprawled on the floor, unconcious
and unresponsive. As she runs over to examine them, Urd realises
that something is wrong, very wrong.
"They're not here! Damn it, where could they be?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" Skuld is puzzled, she can see
Keiichi and her sister lying right there on the floor.
"No, no, its their minds, their souls!" Urd shakes her head
violently, "Look, even with your limited powers, you can tell that
they're not here!"
Skuld is so agitated at the situation that she doesn't notice
the slight at her abilities. Directing her mental awareness at the
unconcious pair, she finds that her sister is telling the truth.
"How.. how could something like that have happened to them?
How Urd? How...." her voice trails off as they both see the box on
the table.
"Of all the things she could have done......" Urd says in a
low, cold voice as she looks at what's in the box.
"By `she' you mean Marller, right?" Skuld asks and Urd nods.
"What is it anyway? I've never seen anything like that before."
Skuld takes a cautious peek at the artifact, afraid to touch it.
"It's a Temporal Identity Displacement spell." Urd explains,
"It can send the mind of a person......"

				-----

	"WAAAHHHHH" Keiichi gets up screaming.
For a moment he is confused, he can't seem to remember
where he is and what he's been doing. There is only a deep feeling
of fear in his mind. Then it just disappears without a trace, leaving
Keiichi only with a cold sweat. He looks at the scenery, nothing's
changed. Yet he feels that everything is wrong.
"A dream," he thinks to himself, "It must have been a bad
dream. That's right. I must have dozed off and had a bad dream."
Standing up, he suddenly feels rather cold, despite the hot
summer sun. Keiichi quickly decides to head for home. When he
walks into the front yard, he finds Megumi there playing softball
with their father. She looks at her brother.
"You look like you've just seen a ghost, nii-san. Are you
alright?" Megumi asks, concerned.
	"I.. I don't know. I dozed off and had a nightmare, I think. I
can't seem to remember anything about it." Keiichi tries to explain.
"A nightmare in broad daylight!" Megumi giggles, "That's a
good one...."
"You've been out in the sun too long, son." His father tells
him, "Maybe you should go inside. Lunch will be ready soon."
Inside the house, Keiichi is standing before a mirror, looking
at his reflection. For a moment he feels that the reflection looks
younger than he is. But that's impossible, he dismisses the
thought. After all, he's eight now, he'd have to be a baby to look
any younger...

	"NYYYYAAAHHHHH!"
"Bel... Bel.. Bell-chan! Calm down! It wasn't that scary now,
was it?"
There is a feeling of fear, so strong that it blocks out all her
thoughts. She looks around, not being able to remember where she
is. The fear fades out, but she still feels uneasy. Then she notices
her sister, Urd.
"Nee-san..?" she asks, still trembling from her fright.
"I said, it wasn't that scary, was it?"
Belldandy looks at the screen in front of them, it is showing a
lion prowling. Her fragmented wits are coming together, she
remembers that Urd is trying to help her find a good spot for her
observation trip to earth.
"No nee-san, that wasn't it." she tries to remember what
frightened her, "It was something else, but I can't seem to
remember what it was."
Her older sister looks concerned, "Maybe you should visit the
healers."
Belldandy shakes her head, "No.. I think all I need is some
rest. Let's go home now, okay?"
	Urd merely shurgs, "Sure."
Belldandy is about to activate the portal when she stops and
looks at her reflection in it.
"That looks younger than I really am ....." she says.
Urd raises her eyebrows, "No way! You're an eight year-old
trainee goddess, remember? You'd have to be a baby, like Skuld, to
look any younger."
Belldandy shakes her head and steps through the portal. First,
some rest, maybe it will go away then, she hopes....

				-----

"..... into the past within their lifetime. It's a very dangerous
spell, there's always the risk of changing history. Even the `other'
side forbids it's use. I wonder how she got it...." Urd finishes
explaining to Skuld.
Skuld's heart skins like a rock, "Can we get them back Urd?
Can we? Can we?" She asks frantically.
"Yes we can. The spell can be used twice, once to send, the
next to retrive. But we need to know the exact time to set retrival,
and they must be together when we retrive, otherwise there will be
all kinds of problems."
Urd stops to think before continuing, " I'm sure Belldandy
knew what hit them. If only she can tell us when they are...."
	If only she could.....

Well, that's it for now. If I can, I'll try to write some more as soon as I
can.
