This isn't one of my better chapters, I'm having a hard
time portraying Ryoga being sensible. Or at least somewhat. Oh
well, here goes nothing!


Chapter 9
 
[Overlooking the Tendo Dojo]
 
Voice: SHE'S WHAT?!?!?! 
 
(We're now inside the Tendo Kitchen. Ryoga has dropped the letter he's
 holding, and Kasumi is wincing from Ryoga's yell)
 
Ryoga: Did you just say that Akane-chan is DEAD?!
 
Kasumi: (Holding her hands up to her face protectively) Y-yes...
 
Ryoga: (Sinking to the ground, clasping both his hands over his heart)
 A-Akane... No longer of this world.... (Raises a fist, which is shaking)
 RANMA!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?! I'LL GET YOU! 
(Runs out the house through a wall)
 
Kasumi: (Looking at the wall, worried) Oh my... I don't think we can
 afford that...
 
(Cut to Ranma-chan walking down yet another nameless street.
 Obviously furious with not having killed Shampoo yet, and she doesn't
 hear the running footsteps behind her)
 
Voice: RANMA!!!!!
 
Ranma-chan: (Turning around) Huh? (Barely dodges a bandanna, and another)
 Woah! 
 
Ryoga: Ranma, how could you?! How could you dare be her fiancee if
 you weren't going to risk your own life for hers?! How could you have
 been such a lousy protector?! TRAITOR!! (Starts throwing punches at
 Ranma-chan)
 
Ranma-chan: (Wary, and avoiding all of his blows) Not as if you did any
 better than I did. I'm really not in the mood for this, Ryoga. Shampoo's
 not dead yet, and it's all ready been a week.
 
Ryoga: (Stops hitting her, and instead starts collecting ki) What are you
 doing, Ranma? Killing off all of your fiancees? I knew you were mad and
 cowardly but I never dreamed I could have underestimated you so much!
 
Ranma-chan: No, that's not it! I'm gonna kill Shampoo beca-
 
Ryoga: Spare your petty, talk, Ranma. I know your tricks better than
 anyone on this planet!
 
Ranma-chan: No just lis- OH SHIT! (Ranma-chan is REALLY
 out of it today; she only noticed now what Ryoga has been doing
 during their conversation) That's a full shi-shi-houkoudan!
 
Ryoga: Ranma, feel my vengeance for Akane! (Ranma-chan stands
 still, not knowing what to do. Ryoga finishes collecting ki for the
 massive ball) Now! SHI-*BANG!* (A large piece of metal hits
 his head; instead of aiming the blast at Ranma-chan, he throws
 it straight into the sky. He falls over)
 
Ranma-chan: Ucchan! (The camera moves a few feet back to look
 at Ukyou, who's holding the handle of her once huge spatula.
 The rest of it has been blown off by the blast) Thanks, he nearly had
 me there, and I really don't wanna die. At least, until I kill Shampoo.
 
Ukyou: (Throwing the handle behind her back) Anytime, Ran-chan.
 (Takes a hold of Ryoga's arms) Look, I'm going to take him to my
 place. I doubt  he's going to be Mr. Friendly to you anytime soon.
 
Ranma-chan: (Relived) Would you do that? And whatever you do to
him, make him stay away from Shampoo. She's _mine_.
 
Ukyou: (Looking at Ranma-chan sadly) *He's become mad... I've really,
 really lost him. Shampoo, if you had just left Akane live, he wouldn't be
 like this now!* I'll tell him it's Cologne's fault. And it is, kinda.
 Bye bye, Ran-chan.
 
Ranma-chan: See ya, Ucchan. (Continues walking, Ukyou starts to drag
 Ryoga to Ucchan's)
 
[Cut to a bedroom in Ucchan's. Ryoga is laid out on a couch, Ukyou is
 looking over some papers with a calculator in one hand and a pencil in
 the other at a desk]
 
Ryoga: (Waking up) Ranma.... die...
 
Ukyou: (Putting down the calculator and pencil) So you're up, Ryoga?
 
Ryoga: Ukyou! (Sits up) Take me to where Ranma is, won't you?
 (Starts cracking his knuckles) He needs to be taught a lesson!
 
Ukyou: (Trying to sound as strict as possible) Ryoga, really!
 
Ryoga: What? Oh, Ukyou, I know you love him, but even you have to
 admit he's gone too far!
 
Ukyou: I'm disappointed in you, Ryoga.
 
Ryoga: (Confused) Huh?
 
Ukyou: Ranma didn't kill Akane. It was... it was... (Closes her eyes
 dramatically) It was Cologne.
 
Ryoga: (Snorts) Yeah right.
 
Ukyou: Ryoga, listen to me! (Takes a seat next to him on the couch.
 She clasps her hands dramatically) I should know, I was there. Akane
 took on Cologne. I don't think Cologne had intended on killing Akane,
 but Ranma interfered, and Cologne got angry at him... (Squeezes her
 eyes shut) and she took it out on Akane... I can still see it... Cologne-
 
Ryoga: Stop! (Stands up straight) If what you say is true... then Cologne
 is to blame! I always knew she was evil! I'll kill her as well as Ranma!
 
Ukyou: (Facefaults) Ryoga, c'mon! I told you all ready, it's not his fault!
 
Ryoga: (Coldly) He was there, wasn't he?
 
Ukyou: (Twiddling her thumbs) Well... yeah....
 
Ryoga: So it is his fault, too!
 
Ukyou: Ryoga... y'know, Cologne is pretty tough...
 
Ryoga: So? I can take her on!
 
Ukyou: AND Ranma at the same time? (She lets this sink in) You'll do it
 quicker if you take one at a time. And since Cologne was the one that did
 it, she'd be your best first target.
 
Ryoga: (Head cast down) True... (Lifts his head again) But I'm still going
 to beat up Ranma before I do anything else!
 
Ukyou: (Watches as Ryoga runs out the door for once) Well, I tried...
