Damnit. I keep forgeting this kid wasn't around when Star Wars came out.
(Ok -who, besides me, saw it the first time it was on the big screen? Show
your age...) :)
O.K. I admit it. I even saw it the second time at a drive-in. Anyone know
what that is?
(Come on Ben, 'fess up!)
A drive in. An outdoor movie theater where someone watches from the
comfort of
their car.
There are still a very few of them left.
One of my memories of them is enjoying the movie, but getting eat up by
mosiqutoes
When I was 6 or 7 my mom took me to the local drive-in to see a Beatles
movie double feature (I *still* say this was more for her benefit than mine,
tho I had a terrible crush on Paul - even at that age). It was really cool
out, so Mom brought the speaker into the car and rolled up the window.
When the movies were over and it came time to leave, wouldn't you know it -
the window was stuck and wouldn't roll back down. The maintenance guy had
to disassemble the speaker from the cable so we could go home!
