        I think that was the episode where the Federation tried to go to
the gamma quad to fight the dominion.  They were lead by a galaxy class
ship (I think the one that you're talking about) that got destroyed.
        It was mostly a surprise attack where the Jem'Hadar appeared and
swarmed the federation attack force who thought they had the surprise on
their side.  there were heavy losses on both sides and the ship in question
got crippled.  The federation began to retreat back to the wormhole but not
before a kamakazi Jem'Hadar ship rammed the nae? cell of the galaxy class
ship trying to retreat.
        The crippled ship blew up and the federation folks bugged out since
it was sort of a message as to how far the dominion would go to prove a
point.  Both sides knew the battle was over but for the dominion it wasn't
enough to simply win.  Boy I hope I'm remembering this right.

        I know the Defiant is capable of taking at LEAST 3 Jem'Hadar ships
out. And the Defiant is no match for a GALAXY-class starship. I'm not trying
to criticize too much but ONE STUPID INSIGNIFCENT AND SMALL Jem'Hadar ship
can't destory a GALAXY-CLASS STARSHIP!!

ok.. well from what I've *read* (not see - ok, we *don't* get episodes
here in Australia until a long time after they're played in the states),
the Defiant was a prototype anti-borg ship (if I'm wrong stop me), it was
supposed to be the first in a new line of StarFleet Battleships - and
with the amount of weapons on it, it was suppose to be at least a match
for a Galaxy-Class in weaponary....

        That whole proto anti borg thing is what I heard too.  The main
design flaw was the fact that it was too heavily armed for it's size and it
could blow apart because of it.  With the borg threat sorta gone the idea
was scrapped and the defiant was the only remaining prototype.
        I still think they should have used the federation phase warp
cloak.  Too bad it's illegal... I wonder what ever became of it.
