Actually, he used both.

If you want to get *really* nitpicky I'm pretty sure he uses both and a whatever
other random ones he felt like.  If I remember correctly from the manga, during
Kunou and Ranma's first fight Nabiki and some friends watch from the window and
offer comments to the effect of:

"Blue Thunder?  Last I heard he was calling himself the Shooting Star."

"Really.  Where does he come up with these?"

To me, at least, this would imply that there even more that he spouts on
occasion. Not that it really matters that much.

Overall the characters sound pretty good...  but I missed the Kyosuke/Esper joke
:/.  Oh well :)
