Alright all you creative people. I need something for Akane to yell when
she does her technique from wliia. I have a few ideas, but am looking for
more, and I'm looking for the Japanese translations if somebody want to do
them. Posted below is a summary of the technique.

Anyway, just start tossing out ideas. If you need any clarification, just
ask publicly on fanfic@andrew.cais.com so I can reply for everybodies benefit.
Hmm... initially upon reading them they sounded good, but after reading RR's
comments, I'm going to have to agree in part. If you think about it these ki
powers put Akane easily on the par of a minor demi-god and not a really good
human fighter. That's not to say you can't use them, but you'd have to adjust
for it, like by a rather severe retraining of Akane's temper. Consider:
Has Akane blown up once in my story?
Ranma: Kawaiiku-ne!
Akane: [does the glowing blue thing] BAKA!
<Sounds of interdimensional mallet heated to the point where the air around it
turns to plasma and sets everything nearby on fire>
<Follow up with sounds of emergency medical teams moving in>
EMT-1: This one's a goner, hole burned all the way through his chest.
EMT-2: Yup, look at that man. Level 3 burns on the entire rest of his body.
EMT-1: At least he wasn't in pain long.
EMT-2: Wonder what he did to deserve that?
EMT-1: Probably call some girl un-cute.
Her 'power' if you will, does not extend beyond her body, even trying a
swing with her hammer would be worthless unless she connected with the
hand holding the mallet. Besides, her mallet never appears in wliia, it is
more 'true life' and some purely anime stuff has been scrapped.
Repeat at Furikan High as Kuno attempts to expound his love.
With a little application of thought Akane's power is even more powerful than at
first glance. The ability to lock an object in place. Locking the human heart
into place can result in a messy death I suspect. Another thought: Kuno
charges with the intention of a full-body hug. Akane doesn't stop to think and
locks a sharpened number 2 pencil in the air pointed at Kuno and steps back a
few feet. Ouch.
As soon as she lets go, the pencil would fall. Besides, she is strong
enough to drive a pencil into Kuno anyway, so if it was going to happen,
it would have happened.
You've got a good working base, but you need to tone it down some to prevent
Akane from going over the edge. Ranma and company make her mad easily and often
enough that she'd likely do one or more of them serious physical harm. You've
basically made her defensively invincible (just stop all attacks) and
Only if she can catch the object (fist, sword, foot, whatever) and her
skills as a martial artist aren't that good, now are they oriented towards
catching somebody's punch in mid swing... normally that would be an
incredibly stupid manuever. Also, an attacker can use hands and feet, she
runs out of hands to catch things with very soon, unless she is really
concentrating. And one note, she CAN lock through objects, but they have
to be less solid (fabric would pass, steel would not).
offensively supercharged (both the wave attack and the heating side-effects).
As it stands right now she'd be walking on eggs all the time to avoid destroying
her surroundings and injuring her friends.
It doesn't happen unless she wants it to, like when she is really mad.. and
even then she doesn't have to use it. The heating is admitedly the more
deadly of the two, because she could burn you just for a touch, but she
doesn't think of this very often.
Possible suggestions would be limiting the power that she can expend on it
It is, reread the notes I posted.
(stopping an attack would be like running up several flights of stairs, doing a
wave punch about the same, doing a high powered version like running a marathon)
or making the ki require some sort of focusing object/routine that would prevent
it from being used unintentionally
She doesn't do it unintentionally, and Colognes training will help some more.
Remember also that she cannot lock a 'soft' object without real concentration
so locking somebody into place is pretty well out (she is angry enough at
Shampoo to overcome this, and a fist is a pretty solid object, as she
locked mostly on the bone underneath).
