Well, at a guess, the renderings and animation/sequencing could be done 
on a PC, but you would probably need a really juiced up machine with a 
boatload of storage and memory.  However, the output to videotape would 
be the trickest part.

I just finished a fanwork Ranma music video, and that was pretty much 
maxing out my machine.  (DX4-100, 16M-RAM, 2.0G-HD)  Output through a 
MAC-8100/100AV, the best I could do was half screen size and it was still 
kinds grainy.  I was just using digital video and audio.  If added 
renderings and animeation to it, you'd need a lot more horsepower.  It 
might be easier to do it on an SGI.


I'm curious.  *Has* animation from some of the anime we watch been done and
sequenced on a computer?  What about the music?

Lots.  I remember a really good section on it on the Akira LDs.
