Actually, the people here did come up with a power supply that is a

I will confirm this information with some friends of mine at Pinawa 
Atomic Research Centre.

*sigh*  I still probably couldn't afford it.  (Then there's the problem of
designing workable actuators...)  :)

Name your actuator, I have available:

	Micro-polymer
	Micro-Magnetic
	Micro-servo
	Neo-polymer
	Celuloid
	Glass-fibre actuated
	Magnetic sheathed glass fibre (<- recommended)


All actuators are in post design phase, with work continuing on a Phased
magnetic sheathed glass fiber design.

The reason the sheathed glass fibre is recommended is it's load limit is
about 180 thousand tons, depending on the power supply, and it doesn't
'bulk up' the way alot of other systems can. It can also be damaged and
continue to fuction with remarkable efficiency. The only drawback to the
system is that it will have some bad effects if it is struck be a
high-energy laser, and may sieze if used heavily or improperly afterward,
although under normal use this should not happen. Also, a hyper-extension
of the fiber bundle can lead to irreversible damage, however, again,
normal or even heavy use whould not cause this, only physically ripping at
the fibers with a superior force could damage them.

They are also susceptible to EMP type weaponry, however proper sheilding
should prevent any damage. Phased magnetic sheathed glass fibre is a
design attempt to compensate for this, however success in this endeavour
is not predictable.
