Hmmm... I partially agree, but I think earlier on in the fanfic, there
is mention that Nodoka accepted Ranko as her daughter... *sigh* little
did she realise... hehe..

But to someone just jumping in, it sounds like:

1)  Nodoka found out about Ranma's/Ranko's changing and so accepts
    it.

2)  Anyone read Split Personalities?  In that fanfic, Nodoka knows
    and accepts... no, Genma didn't commit suicide.

3)  Nodoka had a daughter called Ranko.

4)  A mistake.

Other than that, I agree with the idea that it is a bit off. :)
