author any constructive critisism at all.

What did you hate? The authors writting style? The authors use of grammar and
syntax? The plot? The use of the characters? Or just the basic idea?

It's important for the author to know, so they can know what's offended you
so much!

(Personaly, I didn't care much for the basic idea.)
