Hi!
I'm not sure if the list is just really slow, or I'm not getting stuff, but
seeing as even my *own* fic failed to make it to my Inbox, I appreciate the
response. Now I know that it actually got out there. :p
C&C time again? I guess so.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. ^_^

Understood, good sir - and of course, nothing I say in this following
response can be held against me in a later chapter, either. You'd be amazed
how many corners I have talked myself into during some of these. ;)
Radanthus the Unconquered did not sit in the throne room of the
Crimson Nadir: he *brooded* in it. Brooding had become a second nature
to
him, recently, and one that he was loathe to give up easily.
I'm thinking the commas around recently aren't needed, but could always
be wrong.
When in doubt, I normally just place them anywhere I would pause while
reading the sentence out loud. ^_^
In other words, I have no idea if you are right or wrong on this one. I've
tried it both with and without, and for the life of me I can't be sure which
one is correct. Think I'll wait and see if anybody else calls in on it -
usually, if two or more of my readers agree, it's a sure sign that I have
been hitting the cough syrup a little too heavily again.
The more he thought about it, the better an idea it
seemed for him to just eat Badamon at the earliest possible opportunity
and save himself the headache of dealing with the vile little creature.
I'm thinking it would be a good thing for Mr. Unconquered to stop
thinking at this point and follow through on this before he has a chance
to talk himself out of it.
Nine out of ten Evil Overlords would agree with you. Badamon is just one of
those subordinates that you can *tell* are going to cause you no end of
trouble. :)
Radanthus has been toying with the urge to just eat him and get it over with
for a while, now. Considering Badamon's amazing knack for turning up
not-dead, anything less might not be enough to make sure he's safely out of
the way.
It wasn't as though Radanthus was stupid enough to think this his
head priest was in any way loyal to him, but the fact remained that
Badamon and his Ankoku Priests were simply too useful for him to
destroy.
Ah, well. And he was doing so well until the second half of that sentence.
*snerk* ^_^
Yeah, Radanthus' biggest weakness is that he keeps trying to function at a
level he is not comfortable operating on. Leading and organizing are
actually not his bag - he's much better off just smashing stuff and wreaking
havoc on his own. If he listened to his instincts, he'd just munch Badamon,
squish Nise Suiko, and head off to handle the Senshi by himself. But
noooooo.... he has to keep trying to be *smart* about everything....
If the priest was to be believed, they were already working on a way
to weaken Sailor Moon's connection to the ginzuisho, and that was a
goal too important for him to interfere with.
Ayup. He's definitely doomed.
In his defence, at least he is smart enough not to want anything to do with
that Silver Moon Crystal dealie Sailor Moon uses. Radanthus has been holding
back and using go-betweens for exactly that reason: he does not want to get
nailed by the ginzuisho. Basically, he is falling into a classic trap - he
has learned to respect the weapon, but not the person wielding it.
He just could not understand why so many of his
troops were having trouble beating those girls. There were only five of
them, after all, unless one counted Tuxedo Kamen.
Uh-huh. He's going to have some nasty surprises coming his way. Even
setting aside the obvious numbers issue.
Hehehe... Radanthus was spying on the Sailor Senshi during the events of the
Dead Moon Circus arc: the Outer Senshi were conspicuously absent for those
battles. Poor guy doesn't even know that they exist in this place.
I'm a bit fuzzy on exactly how you set up the hierarchy of your Dark
Kingdom and other various demonic-type places, but shouldn't Radanthus
have a least a little bit more respect for the people who took out Beryl
and Metallia and have only gotten stronger since?
His main objection is that he is not asking them to beat all of the Senshi
in pitched combat - he is asking them to ambush one Senshi from behind while
she is all alone, and they are still failing. In his opinion, Xiang Yao
should have been at least able to kill one Sailor Senshi by herself, and she
even had Fei Lian there for backup. Instead, she not only failed to kill
anybody, she got Fei Lian critically injured and managed to tip off Tuxedo
Kamen and Sailor Venus that their friends were in trouble.
That's got to be at least a *little* frustrating for the big guy....
And I admit I never watched SuperS,
Relax - you didn't miss much. :p
but from what I saw of her in Sailor
Stars, Queen Neherenia might indeed have been foolish, but her personal
power was worthy of some note (didn't she go toe-to-toe with Sailor
Saturn?),
She most certainly did. Neherenia was downright scary and brutal in the
first arc of Stars. Of course, she was also working for Galaxia at that
point, and if Galaxia can make Sailor IRON MOUSE a credible opponent, she
can do darn near anything. ^_^
and you've explicitly said that Radanthus was watching those
fights.
Actually, this series is set pre-Stars, so those exact battles haven't
happened yet. One of the many reasons that Hotaru is still an infant at this
point in the story, too.
Then again, I'm quite willing to believe that SuperS-Neherenia
was much less impressive on that front.
SuperS Neherenia spent almost the entire season trapped inside an enchanted
mirror. Her minions were so evil that they decided the best way to spread
darkness and villany throughout the world was to start their own circus.
>From Radanthus' standpoint, that would not make her a very impressive
warrior. ^_^
Xiang Yao was the sort who would chafe under any kind of supervision, no
matter how inobtrusive.
unobtrusive
Dang! Spelling error! Will fix!
"I have one condition, though," Radanthus warned her. "Do whatever
you like to Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury, but the Moon Princess is not
to be harmed. She is too powerful for us to confront directly at this
time."
Surprising, given that a few paragraphs back he was annoyed the Sailor
Moon wasn't already defeated.
Not defeated - just not very inconvenienced, either. :p
It wasn't like he was going to proposition her, or anything. He was just
trying to form a plan. Totally professional. He was sure that she would
understand.
Uh-huh. We believe you Seiji. Honest.
When it comes to talking to a girl, Seiji is always convinced that things
will be different this time. He is also usually upset to discover that they
are exactly the same. :)
"Sorry for the intrusion, but I was just thinking that
since we're going to working together for a while, maybe we should get
to
know each other better."
...
He never *means* for it to be taken that way... but it usually is. One of my
favorite YST skits involves Seiji trying to tell a random girl that she has
dropped her scarf. By the end of the conversation, she is agreeing to marry
him and he is running away as fast as he possibly can.
"Well," the girl mused, tapping her finger against her lips in a
thoughtful manner, "I don't *usually* go out on dates with random boys
when the world is in danger. On the other hand, since you did come all
the way over here, it's only fair of me to accept...."
...Minako _doesn't_ go out on dates with random boys when the world is
in danger? Since when?
Shhhh - she's trying to play "hard-to-get". ;)
Well, actually, I guess it technically is the truth, but it's never
stopped her from _trying_. :)
This is very true. Minako's response to dating is sort of like a shotgun's
approach to precision shooting - just blast enough to the general area, and
*something* will get hit, eventually.
There was something about that woman that was setting
his armour off like a fire alarm, and mysterious breezes from nowhere
were not doing anything to make him more comfortable.
*snort*
Seiji is a naturally suspicious character, and he has earned it - the poor
guy gets ambushed by the forces of evil so often that he just comes to
expect it any time things start going too smoothly. I think he's actually
been captured by the Troopers' enemies twice (three times?) in canon.
...
Yeah, Mukara definitely makes three times that happened to him. :p
"How can you be so blase about this whole thing?" Rei asked.
"Aren't you even a little bit bothered by any of it?"
"Not really," Shin said. "But then again, I've got an evil demon
twin running around trying to destroy me, so I've been a bit distracted
lately. Can I refill that coffee for you?"
Heh. That would kind of put things into perspective.
Shin Mouri has a very unique take on the events of this series so far. For
one thing, he is so fixated on Nise Suiko that he is only vaguely aware
anything else is even happening. :)
Actually, come to think of it I'm kind of surprised that Sailor Moon
never used the "evil duplicate" plot that I can recall, even for a
monster of the week or something.
Well, Zoicite did disguise himself as Sailor Moon once in order to ruin her
reputation by robbing banks, and the Ayakashi Sisters in the R season were
supposed to be evil counterparts of the Inner Senshi, but they never did a
straight-out evil twin episode, no.
Which, now that I think about it, amazes me. I mean, Optimus Prime had at
least three evil twins in the space of one year. Heck, even the Power
Rangers have had evil twins, before. How did Sailor Moon miss that one?
Which reminded her: she might want to pick
up some coloured markers, in case Ryo proved especially dense. Phase
four
involved diagrams.
Heh.
Many romantic story arcs could be made much shorter and simpler with the
presence of a person with colored markers, paper for drawing diagrams
on, and the willingness to use them.
And Usagi has resorted to it before, too. I always thought that idea of hers
to jog Mamoru's memory by showing him a bunch of doodles that showed Tuxedo
Mask and Sailor Moon on them was a surprisingly promising approach. God
bless her, Usagi is not the sort to mince words when she wants something.
^_^
The youma roared in response and exhaled a gout of fire from both
of his mouths, blasting the two girls out of the window and following
after them with an eager growl. Unnoticed by any of them, Sailor
Mercury's
communicator lay where it had fallen.
And, softly, it began to chime.
Hmph. Evil place to end it. :)
Hahaha... sorry, but that was the best place available. This darned chapter
was getting so long that I decided it would be better to break it into a
two-parter and make it a little easier to digest. Which I guess means that
the next chapter will be 8B, or 8-II, or something. For sake of convenience,
I'm just going to call it "9". :p
Not much in the way of general comments to say beyond that I enjoyed the
chapter, and am looking forward to the next!
Well, the good news is that the next one is already well under way!
Hopefully, I should be finished within the next couple of weeks. Thanks for
taking the time to respond - I really appreciate it.
Later!
