Just read from the prologue through chapter five of this today.

I'm enjoying it despite myself, as it's an amusing digression from the canon
Potterverse; despite being rather obviously geared towards fantasy
literature fanboys. (I haven't even HEARD of half the books you reference
Harry having read, but then, I'm not that big into fantasy fiction in
general...)

Given that this is almost a month and a half old, I'm sure most of the
problems I could nitpick have long since been addressed. I did, however,
want to comment on something you say in your author's notes:

Sometimes I wonder about the Wizarding world. I mean, Hogwarts is
supposed > to be their equivalent of the big named schools, like Oxford,
MIT, Harvard,
etc.

No, it's not.

Hogwarts is equivalent to a public school. Not the kind of "public school"
those in America and similar nations think of, but the BRITISH kind of
"public school"--which is hardly public in any way, shape, or form.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_School#England_and_Wales

Public schools are tuition-based secondary education for British children
from ages 11 to 18--the equivalent of junior high and high school all rolled
into one. Hogwarts is modelled on the typical British public school, and
thus a more accurate comparison would be to Eton rather than Oxford.
