I've seen R/SM fics where Ranma serves as a replacement for a Sailor
Senshi, including one where Ranma and P-chan served as temporary
replacements for an injured Senshi and moon cat. Has there been a
crossover or fusion where much of the NWC are Senshi or serving as
replacements for injured Senshi? Maybe the regular Inners need a
vacation. For example, Ranma, the three fiancees, and Kodachi are
the 5 Inners. Or for a different spin, Yuka and Sayuri are secretly
Senshi.
The fact is, there are very few variations of crossover between Ranma and
SM that *haven't* been done, most of them many times over
I was going to say that I haven't yet seen one where Ranma is the son of
one of the Senshi, but actually I have seen that, at least once. (His
cursed form was Chibi-Usa.) The mind boggles.
Yah, "Pluto's Son" comes to mind. And I seem to remember one where
Uranus was Ranma's Mom.
And how can you forget "Ten of Two?" I really wanted to see that one be
a "Ranmoon of Borg" fic... Can't you just see the "Moon Healing
Assimilation" though?
There is also a couple where Ranma is the son of Queen Serenity. Mos
times, he would be the brother of Princess Serenity, but at least one time
he was a male Prince Serenity.
Were any of the above fics actually finished?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure I've ever read a Ranma/Sailor Moon
crossover non-spamfic where the author actually got to the end of the
story. (Well, maybe a couple of megacrossovers, but not the kind of
thing being discussed above.)
I realize that a lot of fanfics never get finished, but I swear that
Ranma/Sailor Moon crossovers are even worse than normal in that regard.
Maybe it's because it's a hard story to do 'small'. First, a lot of the
above requires plenty of set-up. Second, because authors seem compelled
to follow the Sailor Moon season format and write their way through a
slow onslaught of one-shot monsters led by evil lieutenants all the way
up to the big bad... which taking twenty chapters to do, they never
actually get to.
Have any Ranma/Sailor Moon crossovers been done that follow the Ranma
story format instead? That is, the villain of the piece shows up
immediately and does his thing and the heroes fight him two or three
times until he's finally defeated, wrapping up the whole story in four
or five chapters. Putting the Sailor Moon characters in the Ranma story
format strikes me as a more interesting idea than whether Ranma is
Sailor Moon's cousin or brother or something.
