Yeah, on a purely martial arts level, Venus and Jupiter between them  
are at least Ryouga's equal and could give Ranma a run for his money

I'm utterly stumped as to how you make that kind of evaluation.  I've 
certainly never seen them doing the kind of absurd things that 
Ranmaesque martial arts lets people do.  Of course they've never really 
needed to, but still...

Actually, those "absurd things" are standard fair in Chinese martial
arts movies.  At least the martial arts things are...giant chicken eggs
hatching on peoples heads though...  In the world of "Wu Shu" any decent
martial artist can jump 50 feet, make his sword fly and shoot off Ki
blasts.  It's a venerable genre of Chinese (pulp) literature, and light
opera, that spawned the Kung-Fu movies.
