Just doing a bit of axe-grinding here. There are an awful lot of
R/SM
crossovers out there, and most of them, while loudly trumpeting their
impartiality, feature Ranma (with a few unlikely power-ups)
humiliating
the Senshi with one or two easy moves and then ending up training
them
in martial arts -- apparently because, canon notwithstanding, martial
arts are clearly the only way to true power. I thought it might
be fun
to swing the pendulum in the other direction, for a change.
The senshi might not fight worth spit, but they ARE
powerful. Best description I ever read of Sailor Moon
called her a "magical howitzer." :)
Another point you sometimes see is that most of the
bad guys the senshi fight absord the life-force from
people. That renders many of Ranma's attacks useless.
No ki blasts for certain.
Yeah, on a purely martial arts level, Venus and Jupiter between them
are at least Ryouga's equal and could give Ranma a run for his money
without breaking a sweat.
Anime continuity wise I can't remember Minako/Venus showing much interest or
skill in martial arts but the point stands. Though actually in a well done
Ranma/SM crossover I can see Makoto actually studying martial arts Nerima
style. Jupiter might be tough and be able to go toe-to-toe with several of
Nerima's denizens but Kino Makoto isn't able to pulverise bricks with her
bare hands either and of all the Senshi she has the most canonical interest
in martial arts.
Besides Ranma trying to train Usagi would just be an exercise in mutual
frustration.
