"Right," she said, her teeth clenched. "It's just a matter
of how much lead he got on us. AARGH!" Akane lashed out
with an extended finger on each hand and set off a breaking
point to each side. The pointless noise of the explosions
reflected her own inner rage. "SHAMPOO! You're the lucky
one, you know?"

huge Bakusai Ten-ketsu blast. Snow sprayed in every
direction along with the shrapnel of her attack.

Akane's temper just got about a bazillion times scarier. o.o;;

Sisters and the Kindly Ones.  Their names are Callieach and
Brigit, Elaine and Morrigan, Saravasti and Lakshmi and
Kali, Urd and Skuld and Verthandi..."

"Er... Bell-dan-dy?" Ryouga-chan repeated falteringly, her
tongue stumbling over the foreign syllables.

Cute. :P

"It is a trial by combat," Natsume said, her voice quiet
and grave.  "And your opponent is the Reikoku."

Oh, what a LOVELY catch-22.

The air hissed and shrieked with the passage of the Dragon-
Claw Storms, hailing down towards the Reikoku. Ranma went
for volume over accuracy - he knew from his training that
the individual Dragon-Claws were a little erratic, so there
wasn't any point in trying to pinpoint the target with each
shot. This was a scattershot attack - if he launched enough
of them, plenty would hit the mark.

Whee, elemental ki shotgun attack. :D

"Damn!" he exclaimed, scrambling to gain some distance. A
taloned finger raked along his shoulder, and another ripped
at his leg before he managed to get clear of the creature's
reach. It advanced, its four new arms spread out in every
direction. Each was triple-jointed, sinewy and muscular,
ending in a three-fingered claw tipped with black talons.

You know, one has to wonder at this point why the Reikoku doesn't develop
poisoned claws...

Akane drew back a fist, ready to let fly with the punch
that would save the life of her beloved and mark her for
death...

... and suddenly, the Reikoku vanished.

Saved by the subpoena!

"PUNCH-PUNCH REVOLUTION!"

Heh!

Only to the trained warriors of the Guardians was the
effect visible.  Those fighters heard not just one impact,
but a ripping sound

"Did she just...*fart* at it?"

"Kuonji Ukyou... is dead."

Didn't see THAT coming. O_o;;
