A simple challange to all the Authors out there in the
style of Iron Chef
The Accepting authors are to write a fic in any
anime/manga for the base with these three things:
1) Sex in a Car
2) A running Gunfight in a toy shop at least one page
long
3) The line "If I knew you were going to bring the
entire team I would have left the clownfish at home.
All I ask is that the fic at least attempt to make sence.
I guess that means it would be pointless to use Azumnga Daioh for
this
challenge.l.
Yeah, too easy. Kaorin, having finally gotten her own car and a
driver's license in the summer after graduation, tries to seduce
Sakaki. At first Kaorin thinks Sakaki doesn't want to wait until they
get to a love hotel, but after Kaorin has parked and, shall we say,
gotten a home run, Sakaki makes it clear she's simply humoring Kaorin.
Kaorin asks if Sakaki would call it "rape"; when Sakaki says nothing,
Kaorin snaps. She had concealed a gun in her car to commit suicide
with if Sakaki rejected her - much less painful than the traditional
method, she had been told. But now she is the only one she does not
point it at.
Yomi and Kagura find out about the rampage and bring what friends they
can find to calm Kaorin down before the press can arrive and make a
big(ger) deal about it. Yomi brings Tomo, Kagura brings the rest, Yomi
refers to Tomo as a clownfish - not that Tomo hears, as she's already
gone into the toy store Kaorin's holed up in. There are, of course, no
real guns for Tomo to grab and return fire at Kaorin, but neither
Kaorin nor Tomo take any mind of the extremely toy-like appearance of
the armarments Tomo grabs. After a boringly long cat and mouse game
through the aisles (the reason I'm summarizing this instead of actually
typing it out, but needed to make it a page long), with each shot a
dramatic moment (both sides have very limited ammo), Tomo scores a
direct hit, giving Kaorin a heart attack when she thinks she's been
shot for real. Wrap up (including saying whether Sakaki lives or not,
or leaving that vague) to taste.
No matter what anime/manga is chosen, the one page long running
gunfight is the clincher: given the required length, it's likely to be
the dominant theme. Furthermore, writing *anything* with the primary
intent of making it a full page long can be difficult to make
interesting; more often with interesting things of that length, one
writes the thing and only afterwards finds it happens to have become a
page long. That, to me, seems to be a prime reason why this challenge
fails.
