It's about time, huh? :)

Ummm.... I'll have to reread the rest of the story before making further
comments, but I'll offer the following bit of math:

  229 kb (part 1)
  216 kb (part 2)
+ 232 kb (part 3)
--------
  677 kb (total)
- 6 kb (e-mail headers, given an average of 2 kb/mail)
  671 kb (actual chapter size)

    671 kb
  ----------- = 335.5 pages
2 kb/page (Rakhal's standard, used on the index)

Conclusion: Angus, this is not a chapter. This is a *novel*. :-)

I'm not sure what you're using to calculate the sizes of the
emails, but it's multiplying their size by a factor of about
three. I get these figures:

Part 1: 76875 bytes
Part 2: 72643 bytes
Part 3: 77901 bytes

Instead of estimating the headers, I deleted them and looked
at the sizes again:

Part 1: 74478 bytes
Part 2: 70246 bytes
Part 3: 75504 bytes

Total: 220228 bytes.

Instead of Rakhal's page standard, I ran a word count
on them, and got 38,097 words. By SFWA rules over 40,000
is a novel. This is a novella (17,500 to 40,000 words).
But a damn big one. ;->
