Either use honorifics consistently, or drop them and go for plain English
titles - remember that you don't always have to use the name. Sir, ma'am,
miss, mister, lord, lady, boss, dear etc can all be used on their own, and
are often good substitutes for a name-and-suffix combo.

Like any other anime fanfic writer I had to face this issue but I have
decided not to be dogmatic. A few little -chan's are all right, so
no scorched earth suffix extermination campain for my fics. As a good
example, I saw a Ranma fic which used "P-chan" consistently, while using
English titles for everyone else as appropriate. What do you propose, use
"Baby-Pee"? And a great example how being inflexible in enforcement
of dogma gets you in trouble is ADV's Azumanga Daioh the manga, where
Kimura says "Call me ``Kim-kims''" instead of "Call me ``Kimurin''".
For the love of all that's good, did they even read what they wrote?
This topic is rehashed often and I am seeking a middle ground.
