Disclaimer: I am not Naoko Takeuchi, nor the owner of ADV, nor the owner of Geneon/Pioneer, nor the owner of Toei Animation therefore I have no rights for licensing or selling of Sailor Moon stuff and it doesn't belong to me. I am also not Yoshiki Takaya, nor the owner of either Viz or Manga Corp., nor the owner of the Japanese companies with the publishing rights. So if I've somehow gained the rights to the Guyver series something must be seriously wrong. Nor should the fanfic be seen as an attempt to obtain money, not that anyone would pay to read my stuff anyway.

Chapter 1: Trust

I walk down the street on my way home. The events of the past few months were preying on my mind. Where did we go wrong? True, Zoisite had managed to force Sailor Moon to turn over the only Nijizuishou we had managed to obtain, the yellow Rainbow Crystal, to her. However even with things looking dark, because we no longer possessed any of the Nijizuishou, which would reveal the Princess when brought together, we still had a hope of winning. Then Zoisite's attacks just stopped, for a month it was almost as if talking cats, Sailor Senshi, energy sucking demons, and the Dark Kingdom were all just a dream. *Sigh* then the attacks started up again, but they weren't like before.

The Youma if we can even rightly call them that, aren't like before. When Sailor Moon tries to use her power to either heal or vanquish them with the Crescent Moon Wand it doesn't really work. They've even went into a berserker fury trying to kill anything they could get their hands on once when we tried that. Ami has kept assuring us that it's removing the dark energy from them according to her computer, but they don't disappear or turn back into humans. We've had way to many close calls with those things. Rei's attacks are practically worthless, you can't really beat them up, and the things can be real hard to kill. Luckily as we continued to manage to survive our magic continues to develop, and we we're even beginning to come up with new attacks that are letting us begin to hold our own against attacks that no longer are against just one opponent.

Still despite our magic becoming stronger it has been three months since we last saw Zoisite. We didn't seem to be making any real progress anymore and although no one said it everyone showed the signs of beginning to have doubts we could succeed. Even Usagi, who is normally so upbeat is beginning to get down. I don't dare express my own doubts, I need to keep my friends looking on the bright side, we can win, we have to. It's not good to be down like this especially within a month of Christmas time. Mom and Dad wouldn't want that.

I feel my resolve hardening. Now what kind of cookies I should I make? Usagi would like chocolate and.

I'm brought back to my surroundings suddenly as I walk into something. I'm sure there wasn't a wall here. Oh it's a boy. He's cute in a rugged sort of way, although something about him seems odd. Sunglasses are sort of odd this time of year, but it's not unheard off. The light reflecting off the snow can get annoying and sunglasses definitely help with that.

"I'm sorry. I was distracted."

I should introduce myself. Seems as how my last boyfriend dumped me, I'm single. I deserve happiness don't I? Maybe he'll ask me to have a cup of tea with him. What?! Where did that gun come from? I've never heard of them making revolvers that big. He's pulling back the hammer. A red dot appears travelling up my body. Why won't my body move? Something whizzes past my ear and with a deafening boom he fires.

I open my eyes. Somehow I'm not dead. As a matter of fact I feel just fine. .And somehow I'm still standing in the same street in my uniform. When did I close my eyes? Did I just imagine that? No, the ringing in my ears is to real for it to have just been a hallucination. There doesn't seem to be anyone in this direction, then. I turn around. The guy from before is crouching over a body, that's rapidly dissolving?!

He speaks, "It's a standard scout model zoaform, with dark magic infusion."

A standard scout model zoaform? What is that supposed to mean? Is this guy some sort of paranoid serial killer? Wait those new creatures we've been fighting dissolve like that when they die. Could he.

He stood up and turned around.

"I'm sorry if I scared you back there, but I noticed this thing" the guy gestured at the thing, which was almost completely dissolved. "Was following you. You wouldn't by any chance know why the Dark Kingdom would be after you, do you?"

Is this guy an Enemy? Is he working for whoever is sending those creatures? How can he know about the Dark Kingdom?

"No, not really."

He gives me an odd look. I'm not really sure what to make of it. He hands me a business card and begins to take off his jacket.

"I'm Sho Aikawa, an independent reporter. I've been investigating the recent strange events in the Azabu Juuban district."

An independent reporter carrying something like _that_ in Japan? Oh he has a rather nice muscle tone there. Not that overly bulky build boys seem to think is the ideal, but a well defined muscle tone without the excess bulk. Oh that looks bad. There's some sort of spine embedded in his left shoulder. I wonder where that spike came from? I pull out a handkerchief.

"Here let me help you with that."

He ignores me, reaching under his hand up the left sleeve of his still partially on jacket and pulls out a knife. He then begins digging the thing out with it.

"You shouldn't do that. You'll hurt yourself. Stop, you should go see a doctor."

"No doctor."

"What? But you're hurt."

He seemed bigger then me when I bumped into him earlier. Now I can see he's actually shorter and of a light build. Maybe it's the presence he seemed to have earlier that now seems to be drawn inward. He finishes cutting out the spike and the surrounding tissue with it, making a deep wound that is bleeding profusely in his shoulder. He transfers the knife to his left hand and holds up the damaged tissue and spike in his right. He had some sort of bracer with intricate engraving on his right forearm and another knife like the other one strapped in a sheath on the outside of his forearm. He brought his right arm up and mumbled something I wasn't able to catch. There was a little flash and both the spine and the tissue he had dug out were gone. As I blinked I saw something on the underside of his bracer I hadn't seen since the first day I became Sailor Jupiter, the red Nijizuishou. Joe had been so inconsiderate and heartless towards me.

"Where did you get that?"

He had pulled out a roll of gauze from somewhere and began tying up his wound.

"Could you hold this here please? Thank you. Do you mean my bracer?"

"No, the gem."

We get his shoulder bandaged up. From the tinge of the bandages the wound still bleeding, but at least it's bandaged up now. He really should have a doctor look at that. I wonder why he is so against going to the doctor. Maybe he's afraid. I giggle.

"Why would you be interested in that?"

Darn he's on to me. He put his jacket back on covering the bandage. He also seems to have put that knife away.

"Uhm, I've never seen a ruby like that before."

"It's not a ruby, really. I suppose in the end its natural that one has to hide behind masks in situations like these, if they want to survive. The Police should already be on they're way now. I would rather not have to deal with them.

They aren't big on stories involving monsters, especially the kind that disappear without a trace. If you're truly interested in this Nijizuishou follow me. I have a proposition you might be able to deliver to the right people."

How does he know about the Nijizuishou? Masks? Is this what Tuxedo Kamen actually looks like? But if he's Tuxedo Kamen where are the two other Nijizuishou?

"I've come to Juuban in the hopes of finding the Sailor Senshi and forming an alliance with them. The people I obtained the item you were asking me about represent a threat to humanities continued existence in its present form. That individual back there was a result of their work, but was converted by the Dark Kingdom for their uses via special spines like the one that was lodged in my shoulder. I need the Senshi's help to insure these people are stopped and I'm willing to render any assistance necessary to insure their foe is dealt with as well.

So could you see if you could relay that message to Senshi for me, please. I'm unfamiliar with this district but I've heard they're around here. My contact information is on the business card."

"I'll see if I can."

I began to walk off. This calls for an immediate emergency meeting.

-------------------------------------------

Sho watched her go. 'To be able to feel those kind of emotions.' Sho smiled wryly

-------------------------------------------

Makoto finished giving her explanation to the group after they'd assembled.

Luna spoke up, "This could be an enemy trap."

Ami responded, "Yes Luna, but do we really have a choice? We need the Nijizuishou to find the Princess and he has at least one of them."

Usagi spoke up, "Well if we got nothing to lose, lets do it."

Luna looked less then pleased with her charge's assessment.

-------------------------------------------

Sho picked up Luna, "What's with the cat with the crescent moon bald spot, is she your mascot?"

Luna swiped at him. "I'm not bald."

Ami decided to speak for the group seems as how Usagi apparently was having another of her little quarrels with Rei. "We asked you to come here because Makoto said you had a proposition for us."

"Yes I do. I think I'll put my pieces on the table first."

Sho put Luna down and proceeded to pull out his revolver. Ignoring the shocked and in a few cases intimidated expressions as he dug around for the appropriate tool and began to disassemble the revolver's grip. A little bit of fumbling later and a green gem fell out. He then proceeded to reassemble and stow the revolver before taking the bracer off his forearm.

"For the past eight years I've been fighting a secret organization bent on world take over. By now I expect you are familiar with their handiwork. Recently an associate of mine and I were able to infiltrate one of their bases and recover these. From the data we obtained from the systems, before we destroyed them, apparently approximately four months ago due to their not particularly discreet activities in the Azabu Juuban District of Tokyo, Chronos became aware of a potential competitor referred to as the Dark Kingdom.

They found this group had its claws in several regions over the globe and somehow managed to figure out the location of what apparently was their base of operations. How they found out that information was classified at a level beyond my ability to hack into. Approximately three months ago the Chronos Overlords with a very considerable army of zoaforms moved against this base, which according the data was somewhere in the Artic. Apparently the assault was a major success and they recovered several artifacts that they brought back for study. Two months ago certain zoaforms who had been hit by some sort of dark crystalline spines during the assault stole a yellow crystal, a blue crystal, and a black crystal among other artifacts recovered in the assault. Other zoaforms also thus afflicted disappeared from Chronos's ranks. Soon after Chronos found out about the legend of a kingdom of the Moon and of the Nijizuishou, which would reform into a very powerful artifact known as the Ginzuishou. Where they obtained this information from is unclear.

Chronos and the Dark Kingdom are probably both going to be gunning for you now to draw out the two Nijizuishou Chronos was unable to account for. I offer my services to help both protect you and eliminate your foes. All I ask in return is you help me insure both of these threats to humanity are eliminated. So now that I've told you my side of the story how about yours?"

Luna seemed to weigh this before giving a short answer cutting off anyone else who might be more free with information, "They are the reincarnated warriors of the Moon Kingdom. We are searching for the Princess."

Ami spoke up, "What are those things? Makoto said you called the thing that was follow her a 'Zoaform.'"

"Creatures of legend. They are very resistant to both physical trauma and heat. Even the weakest ones are very dangerous, even to a modern army. Unlike the Dark Kingdom they normally don't have anything to do with magic. Do you possess the missing Nijizuishou?"

Luna decided to field this one, "No, Zoisite stole the only one we had. Tuxedo Kamen has the ones you're talking about. Does this mean you will be withdrawing your offer?"

"No, my offer still stands. I suppose you won't like that I'll still be holding onto these Nijizuishou until we find the others."

Makoto spoke up, "Why won't you trust them to us?"

"I need them to insure when I kill something infused with Dark Energy it stays dead, or otherwise work minor purification magic if they try to infect me. The more standard magic crystals I could get my hands on or make don't have the necessary power."

-------------------------------------------

Sho had ended up walking Usagi home as she apparently felt she needed to dispel any negative impressions about her friends he may have picked up. Makoto had actually volunteered first, but Ami said she needed her for something. Rei said she needed to do her chores and somehow Usagi ended up deciding she should see Sho off, which somehow ended up with his walking her home. Sho wasn't quite sure how he'd got cornered into that last one. Not that he minded bodyguard duty.

Usagi chatted away as they walked. Sho shoved Usagi to the side and stood in front of her. Usagi over compensated for the push and ended up sitting on her butt.

"Get down."

About this time, time itself seemed to slow down. Usagi saw blood spray out from Sho's back and heard a twang near her head. There was a crack and she realized Sho had drawn a gun from somewhere. Another crack this time from the gun Sho was holding and it was over.

"We need to move before people start coming to their senses. The last thing I need to do is deal with the police right now."

They ducked into an alley and began moving out of the area.

-------------------------------------------

I follow Sho as he navigates the alleys and back streets leaving a trail of blood in his wake. He need help. He ducks into an alley and as I follow him I see he's clutching at his chest where the wound and pressing his back against the wall of the alley.

"You're bleeding. We need to get you to a hospital."

"The bullet went through" Sho coughs up some blood, which begins flowing down the alley. Happy thoughts, oh Rei looks so cute dressed up like a bunny. Wait to happy need to come back down.

"my right lung. Even on an adrenaline high a human would be in quite a fix by now."

What is that supposed to mean? He isn't human? Then what is he?

"What are you saying?"

"I'll explain later

Sho's legs seemed to be giving out as he began sliding down the wall leaving a red smear.

"I'll explain later. Sufficient to say I'll survive this." He said.

"There you are, Fukamachi. We've been searching for you."

A big scary guy in suit and sunglasses is at the entrance to the alley. Who is this guy?

"I was wondering when you'd show up."

Is Sho working for the Enemy? Is this his contact to trap me with? I wish the others were here.

Sho pushes off from the wall and begins to fall. What is he doing? He could hurt himself. Whoa! He pulled something from behind his back and sent it hurdling towards the guy in the suit while he was falling. I've never seen someone move that fast before.

The guy in the suit claws at a massive knife imbedded in his throat before collapsing to his knees. His skin begins to bubble and within about a minute all that remains in that big weirdly designed knife, Moon dusted.

Sho picks himself up and begins walking funny towards the entrance to the alley. He reaches down, picks up the knife, and puts it away in something under his coat behind his back.

He speaks. "Call your friends. Tell them to be cautious. They might be targeted as well. Any farther would just draw unnecessary attention. I'll see you at the shrine tomorrow, same time."

As I begin to finish walking home I realize I forgot to thank him. As I turn around I look for him but somehow he's disappeared.

-------------------------------------------

"What do you make of this, Chief?"

"Well obviously the man in the tower was some from of sniper, the equipment set up makes that clear. Sadly that's the only thing about this that makes any sense. This is giving me a headache. According to witnesses a guy down on the street there shoved some girl out of the way and he was shot. Then he proceeds to draw an automatic and fire one and only one shot, before disappearing."

"What's so strange about that?"

"Well first of all the gun the sniper was shooting should have dropped or at least caused enough problems to the individual he couldn't ignore it."

"PCP?"

"Possible but with as weird as this is I doubt it's that simple. Besides that by the time our people got here there was no blood on that sidewalk where the individual was supposed to be shot. I've even had them go over the area with UV lights, nothing. That's not even the best part. How far do you think it's from that window over there to that piece of sidewalk."

"Somewhere between 200 and 250 meters?"

"How many people can hit a person that far with a handgun, it was a 10mm auto by the way which if this was a halfway normal incident would be odd, and shoot them in the eye?"

"Maybe it was just a lucky shot?"

"It went straight through the snipers scope, through his eyeball, and into his skull. He was killed instantly. My gut tells me something strange is going on. With our luck maybe we have a vengeful ghost on our hands this time. I know one things for sure though."

"What's that?"

"I am not going to enjoy filling out the report on this one."

-------------------------------------------

"You seem to be getting around rather well for someone who was shot just yesterday, Aikawa-san."

"As much as I might like to say it's due to this, it isn't." Sho pulled out a white vest with a hole in its right side. It took a few seconds before realization hit the group that they were looking at a bulletproof vest.

Ami spoke up, "Where's the blood?"

"As best as I can tell it evaporates in situations like that. There's no residue or evidence of it left behind when it does that. On the other hand, I once in my foolishness allowed a doctor to use my blood in a transfusion to save a man's life, who otherwise would have died. The end results of that incident was. regrettable."

Rei intervened, "A human's blood doesn't evaporate like that. What are you?!"

"I once had the honor eight years ago to refer to myself as a human being. However by chance or fate I found something that has changed my life ever since. It took my humanity as its price to turn me into a weapon. I do not have much time left before it finishes claiming my humanity entirely. In part I came to you because I needed an end brought to this conflict and the work I started finished before I no longer have the human heart to care."

Makoto piped in, "Why didn't you say anything about this before?"

"You didn't ask how I could fight or provide assistance, and you didn't tell me how you fight them. It would have come out sooner or later. I've gotten good enough to not have to transform to take out a smaller squad of zoanoids, but they will be moving in force, once they figure out a way to draw you out. Your greater experience with the Dark Kingdom will tell you if they will try something similar or not."

"Uhm Does. Was that a Chronos Sniper, yesterday?" Usagi asked.

"No. If they knew exactly who you were they've been known to pull stunts like that and cover them up as terrorist actions, but it couldn't have been them. Other then that you oppose the Dark Kingdom they have virtually nothing about the Sailor Senshi. No pictures, no profiles, nothing that would cause them to risk that much. The sniper was gunning for Tsukino-san, not me. Does anyone in the Dark Kingdom know who you are?"

"Yes, but Nephrite died and Jadeite disappeared.

"Maybe they found out from Jadeite, then. Just because he disappeared doesn't mean he's necessarily out of the picture."

"We're in trouble aren't we, Sho-san?" Ami asked.

"Yes, probably so.

Usagi spoke up, "What was that thing you threw at that guy yesterday?"

"You mean this." Sho quick drew it from behind his back causing everyone to take an involuntary step backwards. Usagi began to lose her balance and teetered back and forth trying to regain it before landing on her butt. "This is a Kukri, which has seen extensive use in the Gurkhan Regiment. Does she do that often?"

Rei spoke up, "Yes, she's a real clutz."

"You're a meanie, Rei-chan."

"Actually if she in her previous life lived on the moon or another planet with a lesser gravity well maybe she was actually graceful there, but the increase in gravity here is enough to make her miscalculate and thus appear clutzy. Just a thought."

"See Rei-chan, Sho-san doesn't think I'm a clutz. So are you supposed to throw it at someone like a boomerang?"

"Uhm no that isn't what it's designed for, but my normal throwing knives wouldn't have guaranteed he would have went down before he could transform without making a scene. Its design allows it to rival even good Katanas in cutting power at a fraction of their size."

"Why is the finish all gunky like that?"

"Ever here of cosmolene?"

The group shook their heads no.

"Well cosmolene is this waxy stuff they put on for shipping to protect metals, but this isn't cosmolene. Chrono's zoanoids dissolve and around their skin and especially in it this dissolving effect can effect other things. So Chronos developed this stuff to protect data tapes and such so if the messenger got killed they wouldn't have to lose the tapes. It also lets them implant things like that into them for transport. I use it to protect my knife so I don't have to replace it."

-------------------------------------------

Ami had managed to get Sho to escort her home this time around.

"What happened to the person you gave the transfusion to?"

"When he got the transfusion he got better. For a few weeks he was more then better. He was smarter, faster, and stronger then ever before. The physician called me back a little over a month later."

"Please go on."

"He had become a monster literally. My blood had transformed him basically into a copy of me. Unlike me though it didn't have the control interface. In the end it ended up being absorbed into me. The only consolation I have for what happened is I gave him a few more weeks he could be happy."

"That's very sad, Sho-san."

Author's notes: I feel like I've just been spinning wheels with AGFV and there are things that I need to do some good refinement work to work out. So I'm basically putting it on hiatus for the moment and putting effort into writing shorter fics as well as I can to improve my skill and confidence in my writing capability. This is a crossover between Guyver and Sailor Moon and is basically a three chapter mini-series with an additional epilogue, I guess something told me we needed another one. Certain facets of manga continuity for both series are worked into this fics plotline, so do be aware it isn't just drawing from anime sources. I've put a good bit of effort into research to fit the two continuities together as smoothly and seamlessly as possible. As the other chapters are mostly done and mainly just need refinement work expect this series to be completed rather quickly.

For those interested in more technical details. Sho's vest is by the National Institute of Justice ratings a IIIA, which is what most law enforcement use for general patrol use. It'll basically stop handgun rounds but isn't worth much against rifles. Something heavier is more likely to be noticed and harder to obtain so Sho doesn't bother with them. The Zoanoid Buster Custom, the giant high power revolver, is kept in a shoulder holster and usually only used if something else won't work just as well due to limited ammunition. I've heard people guestimate it to be about a 4-guage, that's to say if you took a 1/4 a pound of lead and made it into a ball the tube it would fit in would be that size, in caliber to give you an idea of the size we're talking here.

Credit to Teknoguyver and YoungGuyver for helping me out with the refinement work and prereading for me. The rest of the fic is done and mostly refined but I want to do some more refinement work. If you'd like to preread and help me speed it along let me know.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and will read the next one.

For those who are curious

Break points:

Guyver: start of Data 5 after he runs from the Segawas house he strikes out to kill the Zoanoids and stop them leaving the Segawas unprotected.

Sailor Moon: Dubbed episode 28/Japanese episode 32, a hard break off there and nothing for three months.

Fic time period November-December 1992. It was August when they were finding the Nijizuishou.
