For the nth time, Sylia regretted her decision.
Their most active teammate constantly put Linna on
edge, and had driven Nene to drink. Whether the
alcohol was directly or indirectly responsible for
Nene's burned away empathy was anybody's guess, but
now...Mackie and Nene had once had a platonic
relationship; now Nene just used him - for many things
but especially sex - whenever she needed a release.
Mackie let her, often crying to Sylia afterwards, but
horrified when Sylia showed the slightest hint of
taking him away from Nene.

With Priss-Priss's public life, it was a miracle
nobody had speculated on the similarities to Blue
Saber's fighting style. Hyper and energetic and
cheerful even as she ripped boomers' heads clean
off...well, okay, perhaps that last part simply did
not fit into her public image. But only because it
never came up.

Nene and Linna were convinced she was a boomer, and
Sylia had to admit, their arguments had merit despite
what the scans said. No human being could be
that...that...*genki* all the time. Even Nene had not
been that extreme. One explanation came to mind all
too quickly, but it struck far too close to home. Yet
that was the way all the evidence pointed.
"Ryo-papa-san" had, in the few details their teammate
related, brought her up in a manner very similar to
how Sylia's father had brought up herself and Mackie.
Not that Sylia was about to let on as to that part of
her life.

But even if that were true, it left one mystery
unsolved: why did Priss-Priss only seem to dine on
milk, fish, and the occasional small bird or rodent?
